Update - September 2008
Current mood: argumentative
Hey folks.
So just a little update:
Been in the studio recording piano and various keys for Lisa Mitchell's debut album. She's a very talented antipodean who I wrote a song with a few months back, it's going rather well and I'm very, very happy to be part of this...weirdly was in the studio the week before recording some of my ole hammond organ for the Veils new record which is sounding off the goddamn scale! Seriously. Most of the time I'm gearing up to writing this film score for S.Darko and doing much co-writing but also been writing the odd song as well for the next album...but I still have a long way to go...I think I may make the next record in the US, maybe with Ryan Hadlock ( Blonde Redhead, Black Heart Procession, Johnny Flynn, Islands, Holy Ghost Revival, The Gossip etc) but I really need to knuckle down and frenzy. I'm not in a hurry. I think songs you may have heard before on this site like Lachrymosity, Haywired etc will make the grade - have a few songs like Beyond the Pale, Fears of a Father that are also contenders; I'm so ready to make a new album - it's been 3 years and I'm starting to talk to those lovely pale walls. The stuffed animals that I bought over the years are starting to take their revenge for all my nonchalant mockery; pain is only fleeting.....oh...jeeesus...blackout....sorry lost myself there...anyway new album..yes..next year; got to pay mortgage...you can find more about me on wikipedia...anyone can write bullshit....goodnight!!
What a weirderful world
Current mood: indescribable
Hi there myspace users.
That includes me, can't get enough of this cyber-friendship shenanigan stuff. Wooh! Are you really interested in hearing about what I have to say about my life? Am I in Fall Out Boy? Ooh I bet you think this song is written about you..etc etc.. I had a dream I was playing bass behind a curtain because the bass player couldn't play. Just a dream. Then a giant gopher chased me round my house. I hope it means fuck all. I'm listening to Erik Satie on a loop...seems to never get boring, I love it, I feed off it's peace. Here's some interesting facts about the genius that is Erik:
'In his one-room apartment Satie had two pianos. One placed on top of the other, their pedals interconnected.
His room must have been pretty crowded, for it also contained his collection of over 100 umbrellas !
Satie once bought 12 grey velvet suits at the same time. He used one suit at a time until it was worn out, then he put on a new one. When he died, there were 6 suits left in his room, along with his 100 umbrellas.
His 180 notes long composition Vexations, directed to be repeated 840 times, was recorded in 1963 in New York. It took a relay team of 10 pianists over eighteen hours to perform. The longest piece ever written.'
Wow! Crazy guy, wish I'd had the pleasure..anyway enough about him. I'm a sincere person and I like to talk/blog about myself all the time! Can you see how honest I am. My teeth are literally gritting with trueisms! I'm not even drunk I'm such a matter-of-fact guy. I like fine wines, good company and no laughing please!...cutting my own hair! I'm also very good at badminton and other various racket sports, backgammon and impersonating woodland animals. I love people so much, living in London always restores my lust for humanity. Anyway, sorry for the rambling, but i just can't help it! Once I get behind the old techno-screen, i just can't resist but blog! Woohooh!
