Being Violated
Current mood: numb
Yesterday evening, as you might have read in the previous blog, I went in early to the Motorcycle Show and got a tattoo. Well this happened at 7:30 pm on Friday evening. When I got home my arm was sore and I was alittle tense from that event and that was about 10:30pm (but closer to 11pm). I posted my blog and went back out to my car to retrieve something. Everything looked good and dandy to me so I went to bed.
I couldn't sleep so I took some nightime cold med. to help me sleep. I got up for the first time around 7am. No...I didn't go out to my car, I was still tired so I went back to bed until 12 noon. That is when I decided to back to the Bike Show and look at the Motorcycles (they were not completely set up when I was there the night before). At 1pm I slowly got dressed (because of the new tattoo) and went to out to my car.
All this time my dog did not bark once and he barks at every little sound!
I noticed there was some small pieces of fabric on the ground. I thought to myself "These are suppose to be in that bag in the back seat." I opened the driver's side door to find someone has rummaged through my car! On top of this, they found the spare key and put in the egnition and turned it on. THE BATTERY WAS DEAD! The spare change was still there, my checkbook was still there, my CDs were still there....so what were they looking for?
Yes...I feel violated!
I did have a battery charger in the trunk so I plugged her in and hoped for the best. Yup, she started and I let her run for awhile. Out side of that, I found nothing missing when I went through the car this evening, just a worse mess then it should have been.

"Daysong of the Knightbird" Review
Current mood: ecstatic
Review from
ck2s Kwips and Kritiques

Prince E'Falco has returned home to Quadstar and is enjoying his reunion with his family members. Not all is peaceful in his new world, however. Segregation and racism are affecting even E'Falco's family. Will E'Falco survive the choices he makes in THE DAYSONG OF THE KNIGHTBIRD?
THE DAYSONG OF THE KNIGHTBIRD is the second book in a series. The author thoughtfully provides a prologue that details all of the major events that occurred in the first book, THE VIOLET EYES OF JESSE KNIGHT. The world Laurlee Harbig has created is a very complex one, but this prologue provides enough information so that THE DAYSONG OF THE KNIGHTBIRD can be easily read as a stand alone.
Laurlee Harbig is starting to really develop as an author and show some of the potential I saw in her first book. The overall plotline has been tightened quite a bit as the story flows beautifully, almost lyrically, at times. There are still some edges that need smoothing out but I am impressed by how this author is developing! In fact, the portions of the story told through E'Falco's journal entries are true page turners. I couldn't wait to see what would happen to him and the others he wrote about!
Laurlee Harbig tackles some deep issues in THE DAYSONG OF THE KNIGHTBIRD. Racism is always a touchy subject but Ms. Harbig handles it quite sensitively. The fantasy elements involved in "cleansing" help highlight just how extreme racism can be. THE DAYSONG OF THE KNIGHTBIRD is an interesting foray into an equally intriguing world. Laurlee Harbig obviously has devoted a great deal of effort to her craft and it is refreshing to see her growing as the series develops.

Does it pay???
Current mood: disappointed
I have a question...Does it pay to be nice?
According my my life right now, it doesn't. I mean to do right by people only to be crapped on. I have always tried to be a nice person, but maybe I shouldn't be. Maybe I should turn my nose up an walk away like everyone does.
I was remembering holidays and birthdays for people to have mine forgotten about (nobody called and/or came by). Even my place of work screwed me. They had me come in on my day off to have birthday cake and it wasn't even there.
I watch as the ladies around me get flowers and jewelery. I have a big heart and I'm not aways fun to be around, but I can have good time too. What is wrong with me...am I that ugly? I'm not mean, I don't try to say hurtful things because I know how it feels to recieve comments like that.
So does it pay to be nice? I hope I have better weekend, I'm taking it off to go out of town. Right now I'm not sure if it is a good idea.
Love to all.... Laurlee

My Birthday
Current mood: bummed
Hey everyone,
I would like to thank everyone who posted a birthday comment to me...Some I know and some I don’t, but you were all great to take the time to do it. My birthday (outside of the birthday wishes here) was forgotten for the most part. My brothers did get me something after the fact and one of my sister sent me a plaque and card a couple days later. On Tuesday (my birthday was Monday, March 17th) the bowling team took me out to lunch and that was nice of them.
Today I guess my place of work was going to have cake for both of the people who had their birthdays in March. So I said I would come in on my day off to do this. I asked TWICE what time to be there and was told noon both times. So...
I showed up at noon. No cake and almost nobody around so I went next door and put the final touches on my taxes and checked again...nope - nothing. So I went and sat in my car for a couple of minutes. I decided then it was time for lunch at 12:25! I went and had lunch, went home and pulled together my bills. While I was in town a little after 1pm I decided to stop back at the station to talk to one of my brothers (who I work with) about taking some time off and guess what I found.....cake. Hmmmmmm....I can only guess that the people were to busy eating to call me! Nope not happy, . But...I have to keep in mind where I work and , at times, who I work with.
Love to all... Laurlee P.S. Again...thanks to those who remembered me on my day in question, Love you all....

Still hard at work...
Current mood: busy
Oh boy,
I'm still hard at work on "Feathers of a Dancer". I had decided to make it available through Lulu.com until I find a publisher willing to take it on. If you have read anything I have written before this, trust me...this will blow you out of the water!!! I'm hoping to have it ready by April of this year.
Just a taste: Jesse has his hands full of Pegan gods and dreams he don't understand. Daniel might have found the girl of his dreams too, but is she ready for him?
Love to all... Laurlee

All is not good in TV Land...
Current mood: betrayed
Due to a situation beyond my control...
It's beginning to look like my time at the local TV Station is done. I will be off on vacation this weekend, but before I leave I have friday to live through. I submitted a vacation request about a month ago and it still has not been sign off on by management. I spoke with one of my brothers (not telling you which one), and he feels the same.
So I'm given myself a day (or two) to think this out. BUT...it beginning to look like my switching days are done. Yep...I'll be broke for the rest of my life but I'll have my sanity.
Love to all... Laurlee

Yahoo groups?
Current mood: disappointed
I dropped off several groups tonight.
Fallen Angel Reviews Love Cafe Romances Pink Posse Forbidden Whispers and Forbidden Publications Authors
I doesn't make any since for me to even be on them anymore. I was informed that I'm not a very good romance writer from the get-go by a gal who modorates "Fallen Angel Reviews". I slugged it out to the best of my ability, but no more. Being that "Star'Leen" and "The Touch of Trinity" will no longer be with Forbidden Publications. I even did a interview with "Enchanted Ramblings", but it was never published on their website. I asked the gal (another Forbidden Author) who did the interview about it and she blamed it on the webmaster. It easy isn't it...blaming someone else. It's beginning to look like I'll be dropping off a few MySpace blogs here soon. When I get six notices for invites to blog parties or to join a chat on yahoo list (group). That is one of the reasons why I left the lists (groups).
Maybe I need the quiet to think over the next move I need to make.

Forbidden Publications??
Current mood: pissed off
Well, not sure how to say this but I'll give it my best shot. Forbidden Publications have termated my contracts for BOTH "E'Mor's Romances ~ Star'Leen" and "The Touch of Trinity" due to poor sales.
Forbidden hung on to TWO of my manuscripts for five months. I removed them to submit them somewhere else (I know this did not make them happy). So I believe that this was done on their end to remove me altogether from their company. For some reason...I thought they were playing favorites and that is all to clear to me now. Forbidden never put "Star'Leen" on FictionWise, as they had claimed to have done.
If you are still interested in "Star'Leen" and "The Touch of Trinity", they will be made available at my Lulu.com store. http://www.lulu.com/CrazyDragon
Not happy...but I'll come through....... Be looking for "The Quadstar Legacy" Book 1 titled "Rise of the Father's Son".
