Cobra Kisses on NEW! Chart

Awhile back we submitted some tunes to DC 101, not really knowing what to expect. Today I got an email telling us that one of our songs has been selected to be on the NEW! Chart, which puts it up on over 500 radio station websites.



If we get enough hits, it could get real airplay on those stations.

aaaaand we’re still alive!

This past Thurday I was driving to Asheville to see some friends when my car got totalled by a truck. Preeeettty scary.  I don't really want to go into detail because 1. I'm sick of talking about it and 2. I'm trying to forget about it.

In the meantime, I'm enjoying being a pedestrian and enjoying being alive!

On a positive note, I had a really nice suprise today when I got a call from an old friend telling me that she made me my very own website.  Check out www.emilypakes.com.

up again til 5 am

So this week has been a blur of music, work, music, and a little bit of sleep in there somewhere. I've been coming home every night for the past week and working with Jo on the Cobra Kisses demo that we're taking to NAMM and SXSW and i'm proud to say that it's sounding amazing. 

You'll notice a new song on my profile, which is one of Jo's piano compositions. She didn't want to start a music myspace but she wanted it on her personal page so i posted it for her. It's one she wrote for her grandma, so don't hate. She WILL cut you.

Well, I guess i better get some sleep...

First of all, thanks to all the great people that came out and made YPDC 2007 a sucess. This was my fourth year playing that festival and it was the best yet.  I had a great time hanging out with the kids afterwards too. Remember children, when you have contests to see who can get the most numbers, sometimes things don't go quite as planned...

So! I got an email a little while ago from CDBABY saying that my CD sold out and that I need to send more. Thanks to all who bought up that first batch.  Your support means the world to me.

This year I plan to record another solo album in addition to my work with Cobra Kisses.  It's going to reflect my serious side; something that's a lot harder for me to put out than a bunch of parodies and whatnot.  But I'm at a point in my life when that's what needs to happen.  That's what is bubbling up to the surface. Or gushing...

As for the Cobra Kisses, we're going to be hitting the studio in the next couple months after some adjustments are made in the line-up. Anyone know another kickass female guitarist in the area?  Please let me know!
