The Lady (Empress) from the Sacred Circle deck - Intuitive journey.

I notice there is abundance and beauty within this card too, flowers, apple blossom and apples, butterflies and bees. She is carrying a large shell with apples, corn and flowers flowing out of it. It feels like spring and autumn all wrapped up into one, the sun is shining perhaps a little too brightly on one side of her and the full moon is shown clearly on her other side. I feel like the sun is in her eyes and want to say "get out of my face you overpowering masculine!" Hmm perhaps I have issues with men in this card too - kind of unexpected, though I can see that from my mother too - no one would over power her - least of all a man!

The shells and flowers and corn are repeated at the foot of the card too - she really does seem surrounded by bountiful fruits and is harvesting her work as well as beginning the new work too.

As I walk in I feel warmth and sunlight like a late summer day, the bees are buzzing and the butterflies are fluttering. I ask the bees for a message.

"We are collecting nectar for honey for our young ones to grow - we are dedicated to our work and work as a team - all of us have our jobs for the large extended family. We select the best and love what we do - we serve and we fertilize in the process, we represent fertility and the abundance of the universe - all things can grow and when we all do the thing we were placed here for we also find ourselves helping many others - almost incidentally, as we go flower to flower - purely to gain nectar we serve the flowers by bringing them pollen and helping them reproduce. It is the nature of things."

I thank them and ask the butterflies what they have for me.

"To change is to be beautiful, all is in a process of change always, we are here seen transformed in shape and colour unrecognizable from our first form yet as true now as then and we will die soon changing again in the eternal cycle to be reborn in yet another form. It is our message to you to remind you that change is beautiful and joyful - it need not bring pain - though often rest and separation from the outer world is needed for the transformation to occur. We support all forms of change and help it along in our energy. Know too you can fool those who would be your predators by your image and glamour, there is no harm in this - playing the game is sometimes the natural thing to do, as we do here with our false eyes - those who truly know us and wish us no harm see beyond the glamour - but those who would want to consume us are indeed fooled so much of the time - as we flit joyfully wherever we please, You have wings so fly, do not fear that others will not know you for those who do, do, and by being yourself, accepting all of you, you have the protection you need from negative influences.

"Thank you butterflies - you are indeed beautiful" I say "As are all creatures in their natural state in their natural timing." Replies the butterflies.

This months Journey into Sacred Circle cards....

2 The High Priestess

As I look at the card I feel the freedom and power of standing in a natural place with the wild wind blowing through flowing clothes, night time and the power of the full moon over head affecting us all - turning the tides, and making subtle changes in our moods and temperaments as the water in our bodies responds the the moons pulling and pushing.

There is a willow round the edge of the card which reminds me of the strength that comes from being flexible. I associate willow with the feminine power, it can grow in water, implying we can grow being in touch with our emotions, our feeding from the honouring of how we feel whatever external others (other trees) might say or need for themselves.

I see a stone circle in the background and feel the power is rooted in the earth and in tradition. The High Priestess is holding a crystal ball which mirror the full moon above and she can see truths within it as she claims her power. Trusting herself and all she knows intuitively.

I walk into the card frame and ask the willows for a message " Be free and flexible like I am. Allow life to touch you and go with the flow - this flexibility is my strength and it is what prevents harsh gales from harming me." As the willow says this I see a picture of people holding so rigidly to thoughts and ways of conceptualising the world, that when the winds of change blow they snap - it reminds me that if we are flexible in our thinking then we survive the gales of change without being uprooted or broken by them.

I ask if there is any thing further she wishes to say (for I feel the willow is a softly spoken she) she says that she grows with her feet in water, in emotions, and it is the emotional realm that she governs, where things can't be rationally deduced or explained away but have to be experienced. Like water has to be drunk to know how thirst quenching it is, we must drink of our emotions and know that it will quench our thirst for ourselves."

Then I walk further into the card, I see snowdrops on the ground and these have a personal meaning for me as a new beginning, one of friendship and of love that is timeless and enduring. One that has had to withstand the struggles of formation but has weathered these storms and now is almost untouchable by outside influences, the bond is one of great strength, all inside conflicts have been confronted and nothing to come can challenge the bond in the future. They say "We are delicate and short lived. We mark the beginning of a new time of fresh hope and light. We foretell the future coming is bright and optimistic."

There is a swan by the High Priestess and I feel he is saying " Do not mess with me for I am the High Priestess' protector - I will keep the area safe for the High Priestess to fully claim her power, to talk with the other realms, to know the unknowable and to be who she truly is" I feel he is the inner protector in each of us, that we need whenever we need to have quiet space and time to go within - he is the one who is saying "No" to families and friends and other distractions. He turns off the phone and tells everyone not to disturb for an hour or 2 while the true inner work and communing with the soul takes place.

The High Priest

This months card is The High Priest. In other decks he has also been called The Magician, The Magus and The Juggler. Try going into a card for yourself if you have a tarot deck, just surround yourself with white light and then see the card image in front of you and step into the card, asking questions as you explore the card. Notice how you feel in the card, what the temperature is and what you can see - you don't have to remember the card precisely and you may see things in your journey not depicted on the physical card but all is relevant. Just give it a go, next month I plan to send out a more detailed visualisation to help you do this process if you are having trouble with it.

For now here is my journey into the High Priest card from the Sacred Circle deck.......

1 The High Priest

He is standing upright in a lush field reading a sacred document_ I feel he is centered and calm, and concentrating very easily. He is wearing golden robes which seem to be very rich as well as simple, he has the sun as his third eye point and I feel he has a strong sense of who he is, clear and penetrating in his insight into things. There is a sun up in a purple sky which kind of gives it an other worldly appearance. Around the card are flowers, meadow flowers which seem to feel both fragile and beautiful, dancing freely in the breeze - seems to be a feeling of happy freedom going on here, yet grounded in the earth and not getting carried away.

Going into the card.....
The orange flowers say - "We are hear to give of ourselves to the bees they love our nectar. We are good for mental processes in a healing sense, use us well it is our service that we offer you this healing." I feel they might be calendula but they don't look like marigolds. "We are many petaled flowers that tell of many things that you can do, we have so many different ways of seeing the world depending on our perspective." The sun above is framed by 2 fern leaves, it is the old sun, the center of your soul, the core of who you are, this is who the High Priest is calling to, the Self within as well as the sun on the outer. The reflection of our true spiritual nature.

"Excuse me kind sir may I talk with you for a while?" I ask the High Priest. "Yes" he replies. "What are you reading?" "I am reading the acaskic records, the spiritual records of all time, everything that is, was and will be is contained here - I wish to learn and learn and learn. I want to know the universe and all that is in it. I honour the natural world both in nature and within us humans. I wish to know how we can best work together and serve the highest potential of all things. I want to create here on earth but I do not wish to destroy what is around me. Sometimes I get so lost in my learning I forget to look up and see what is creating around me all the time. I can be so focus I need to be reminded of the bigger picture. On any topic I can find the answer, though my purpose is not to help you but to learn and grow and make connections to the higher places so that others my learn how to do this for themselves. I am not a teacher but the conduit to knowledge. I wear these robes so that I am both otherworldly and this worldly. The golden colour is the colour of protection and of spirit.

"What do you represent as a card?" - "I can be the man of knowledge, the one with training, the one who connects you to others, consultant type person. I also am a scholar and student in the study sense, create what you want by using knowledge to do it.

The Green Man

I feel there is energy here I get the phrase "Ripe for the picking" from looking at the blackberries around the card which although ripe look very bright in their colours - like they are filled with energy. There are pine cones at the bottom which reminds me of seeds like the fool is planting seeds for the future which might be in a very different form to how things look right now. The Green Man himself is looking very still, surprisingly and seems to be looking upward, I feel he might be looking for guidance from above before he actually makes his move forward. He is in woodland and the ferns around him, though fresh leaved, remind me that there is an ancient history to even the newest leaf - these plants have been around since the dinosaurs - make me think of past lives and perhaps knowledge that is within but not yet conscious at this junction.

These are my thoughts from looking at the card - I am going to go into the card and ask for a journey and information from the card now and see what else I get.

He is hidden and hard to see you need stillness to see him - he likes to keep out of the sunlight and not be seen - he is creating things and the force behind everything, but he does not want the credit - the fruits of his labours are the evidence of his presence. He says: "If you want my help you have to be prepared to go to the darker places and not to be in the limelight, your journey will take you through the deepest darkest terrains and you might feel alone at times - I will be able to be with you though if you trust in my creative power and that my force is everywhere you go.."

"I am at one with nature and the natural forces, so I can be both creative and destructive, all is apparent in the grand order of things, the cycle of building and destroying to rebuild again. In this way I am the beginning for your journey and the end. It is through your trust in me that the quest can begin. I am the person who loves to retreat into the outdoor world and nature to rejuvenate the spirit and reconnect with what is truly real. I am physically strong, the walker, the climber the person living alone in a cave, with the knowing of the elements keeping them safe, I am all things pertaining to nature and the cleansing power thereof."

I walked into the card and spoke to the blackberries round the edge first..

"We are the nourishment and the seed for the new, we are hardy and have longevity but the timing is important to partake of our fruit. "

Cones too are hardy, "we survive the winter till it is our time to spring forth into new life. "

Timing is important in setting out on your journey.

Then speaking to the Green Man: "My realm is all of nature but my form can only be seen in the woods, my camouflage is important and here in my house of the abundance of nature I can be the free-est, elsewhere in the light of day, I am the unseen force, as I need anonymity for those who are not ready or do not wish to meet me directly."

I asked to be taken into the light with him. He said " You can fly with me in the unseen worlds, where you too will be unseen to see more of your soul and the effects of your actions."

I get the impression of forests being cut down and the film 'The Emerald Forest' comes to mind He says "As the woodlands are destroyed and cut down I help every blade of grass to do its best every sapling to maintain its strength and do its best to restore balance. See the devastation being done to nature, that its king - the primal force must find new camouflages - I am not happy with this situation yet I will support the smallest shoot as we fight together and keep coming...., through the tarmac, ...through the seasons, ...the weathers, there is no rest in our work to restore balance to this planet. Even in the situation where the odds are against us there is no question of retreat or defeat. Onwards we strive trusting that our life force will not diminish. "

"Walk into the world knowing even your smallest step towards wholeness and balance is supported. You may feel that its hopeless or overwhelming but trust and keep taking these steps, nature supports your highest truths so go there against all reason!"

Developing your intuition through Visualisation

This visualisation is a good general relaxation exercise as well as being a method to enter into a card or to connect with other realms. I have described it below as a method of going into a card... If you wish to use it as a relaxation exercise then at the point you would walk into a card you just pause here for as long as is comfortable then return in the manner described. You may find that you have images come to you - allow yourself to just view them and record them afterwards in your journey - they are likely to have significance to you either directly or symbolically.

Firstly get yourself sitting comfortably somewhere where you will not be disturbed, turn off the phone, tell others in your house you don't wish to be disturbed for 1/2 an hour.

Start by taking a few deep breathes, as you breathe out imagine all the tensions and thoughts of the day are leaving you and as you breathe in imagine you are breathing in peacefulness and contentment.

Then draw your attention to the centre of the Earth, imagine a ball of brilliant white light pulsating there........................ See a streamer of white light travel up through the Earth to a place just beneath your feet, as the brilliant White light travels up the streamer it gathers in to a pool just beneath your feet.............................................. When this pool is wider than your seated area, see it start to move up like a disk over your feet. As your feet touch the white light they are immersed in it. It goes deep inside - into the skin, muscles and bones and as it does so you can feel it gently massaging away tension and filling you will strength and peacefulness..............................................
