AMAZING RIP CURL MUSIC FESTIVAL. ILBARRITZ BEACH.

The Rip Curl Music Festival took place on August 24th and 25th, on Ilbarritz beach, in Biarritz, was simply amazing !!!

Huge beach, full of young people, a big stage, and great bands !

The best place ... ever ...for any concert !

And luckily, the weather was on our side ! In spite of the threatening rain,

everything went fine in a mild temperaure and clear skies !

Too bad we've got to wait for next year for the second edition of the Rip Curl Music Festival !

It was so good, we would have loved to get the same every weekend !!!

Yeahhhhhhh !!!

The Roxy Jam 2007 in Biarritz, France, has just started.

The Roxy Jam Biarritz is this summer's essential surfing culture event.

Open to the public and with free entry, the Roxy Jam will invite visitors to take the plunge into the world of Women's Surfing. This year, the event will be associated with celebrations to mark the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Birth of Surfing, organised by the town of Biarritz.

The WLC Women's World Longboarding Championship, endorsed by the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP), will form the cornerstone of a week of sport and fun. Since 2006, the Roxy Jam has been bringing together the world's elite women longboarders on France's famous Côte des Basques, which saw the first ever surfboard hit the waves half a century ago.

Kassia, Crystal, Schuyler, Coline, Claire and the world's other noseriding specialists will all be there to carry on the grand surfing tradition and values, but also to put on a show for the spectators. Whilst the longboard has always been about grace and style, the discipline has changed considerably. Now more technical, more radical and modern, the longboard with its ancestral origins is more fashionable than ever.

The Roxy Jam pays tribute to art in all its diversity. With the help of the Spacejunk Gallery and Gérard Decoster, Roxy will be bringing together sculptures, paintings, films, graffiti art and frescoes by renowned Board Culture artists, all on the twin themes of surfing and femininity. Visitors will see a unique collection of painted surfboards.

Meanwhile, Roxy remains a faithful supporter of the Keep A Breast Foundation. Together, they produce models of women's busts, which are then decorated by the artists, and auctioned off with the profits going to the association "Let's Talk About Breast Cancer" (Le Cancer du Sein, Parlons-En!). A new selection of busts will be exhibited during the event, and auctioned during a gala evening at the event venue on the Côte des Basques. The sale, which is scheduled for 13 July, will be open to the general public.

Roxy maintains close and enthusiastic links with the musical world. For the last two years, Roxy has supported the "Les Femmes s'en mêlent" (Women Getting Into It) Festival, and helped promote young female artists at concerts in Paris and across France. This year, Roxy has asked LFSM to organised its main free concert.

Following in the footsteps of Neneh Cherry, Cibelle and The Organ in 2006, the 2007 edition of the Roxy Jam Biarritz will welcome two up and coming groups from the indie music scene.

In the magical setting of the Port Vieux Beach, festival-goers will have the privilege of seeing a rare French performance by the fiery Brazilian girls of CSS (Cansei de Ser Sexy) and the rock show Pravda, said to be an unmissable live event.

Another of Roxy's special guests, DJ Chloé, will be at the decks to open the Roxy Jam on 11 July. And to top it off, the "I have a dream" radio station created by Jules-Edouard Moustic will be providing the soundtrack for the Roxy Jam Biarritz over the airwaves.
