As of the 17th May we were inundated with entries for the Evile T-Shirt Competition. There were many great entries, but there could only be one winner.
For the past week we've been going through each entry and deciding the best of the lot.
Thankyou to EVERYONE who took their time and skill to take part in this competition.
Congratulations to Gary Hall from Liverpool for his exceptional design. A signed ETG Vinyl, 2 wristbands and the shirt itself are on their way to you! (watch out for a pic of Gary with his swag as soon as we get it). This shirt will be available on one of Evile's upcoming tours!
I am really sorry to announce that EVILE will no longer be appearing at HELLFEST this afternoon.
This is entirely due to circumstances beyond our control and we are gutted to not be playing such an awesome festival, we hope that everyone who is going has a good time!
Have your arty heavy metal brains at the ready. Evile have decided to open a competition to give their fans the chance to design one of the t-shirts which will be sold on the next Evile tour (Dates TBC). On top of that the winner will receive a signed 'Enter the Grave' Double-LP Album, 2 Evile wristbands and the shirt itself (choice of size + signed upon request).
All you need to do is create a design for the front of the shirt. It can be anything which you think would look good on an Evile shirt or maybe even something Evile related. It's entirely up to you.
You can use any means to create the art, from a Hand painted piece to Photoshop. Please READ BELOW for details on How to Enter.
RULES For Entering: 1. You must live on Earth. 2. All entries must be e-mailed to evileshirts@hotmail.co.uk with an image file to preview the art. (Please keep the attached file sizes to a maximum of 1Megabyte). 3. Original art size must be approximately 12" by 12" in the highest resolution possible. 4. All entries must be received before midnight (gmt) June 30th2008. All entries received after this time will not be considered. 5. ENTRANTS ARE ALLOWED TO SEND IN AS MANY DESIGNS AS THEIR BRAINS CAN POSSIBLY CONCIEVE.
Terms and Conditions: 1. Copyright of the winning design will be exclusively held by Evile & Earache Records. 2. Serious entries only. All other entries will be deleted (after being laughed at/with).
(This blog was posted by Ol during the last dates of the Exodus tour)
------------------------------------------------------------- Hey all, just thought I'd post an update on the Exodus tour, even though there's only one more show to go :(
This is one awesome tour and we're having a great time. All of the Exodus guys are great. They and their crew treat us really well. The Crowds have all been very welcoming to us, and the responses we've been getting on this tour are overwhelming. I want to thank everyone who's been coming out and taking the time to check Evile out!
It's been an eventful tour to say the least. One day/night (can't remember) I was asleep in my bunk on the bus, when all of a sudden there's a huge bang and we're hurled forward about 15 feet. We got hit while being parked by a Truck driver who probably had a bit more than he should have. Our driver, Bjorn, jumped out of bed, running down the road in his boxer shorts to steal the keys out of the guys ignition, while Lee Altus got his drink spilt. He wasn't happy. On a side note, as soon as the truck hit us, I just went back to sleep, I thought Mike had just fallen down the stairs, so this whole story is second hand from when i appeared in the morning and said "What was that bang?".
(The name of the hire company is appropriate)
This was closely followed by a brief second driver of ours stalling the bus in the middle of the night. I heard cries of "We've been hit again!" and people running up and down. Again I just went back to sleep. I'm so fucking Metal.
Another night on our day off in Germany, Exodus treated us to a barbeque. We ate, we drank, we watched Jack Gibson jam some country with a young Elvis Costello in the bar (Desperado), but the highlight of the night was probably Gary Holt wearing a Santa hat, with pigtails, playing along to 'Master of Puppets' on a fucking Banjo. I can't say i'd ever expected to see that.
At the Sheffield date we let a fan of ours come and play 'Enter the Grave' with us at soundcheck. It was cool and he was loving it, so Mike thought we should let him play with us on the night. So it came to the last song and we let Jake come out and take Matt's guitar. Thankyou to the crowd at the Corporation for being so supportive and welcoming to him. Check out the Blabbermouth Article.
For the guitarists here, Gary Holt introduced me to a company called Home Brew Electronics (www.homebrewelectronics.com). They do an awesome pedal called the Powerscreamer and it kicks my balls for a lead tone. Definetly gonna be checking more of their stuff out. Cheers Gary and Joel!!
One more show left to do in Munich then back to the ole UK!
We're working on a UK Headline tour later in the year, and we're gonna try come back over to Europe as much as we can.
I can hear Exodus just started "Piranha" so, I'm goneeeeeeeeeee
Evile ROCKBAND D.L.C. Available Now (USA)
Category: Games
The 18th of March saw the release of the Earache Thrash Pack as downloadable content on the Xbox 360/PS3 game ROCKBAND. Included in this pack is Evile’s "Thrasher".
Evile’s lead guitarist Ol Drake had the following to say:
"We’d like to extend a huge thanks to Rockband developer HARMONIX for including such a different genre of music for a ’smaller’ percentage of the gaming audience who have been asking for Thrash for a while! Evile are honored to be a part of the game and they hope it gives gamers a taste of what it’s like to play Thrash Metal on real instruments and hope it injects a new kind of challenge to the game!"
The Evile track is already being received as the hardest song to play on the game. Below are some YouTube videos posted by ROCKBAND Gamers to demonstrate the contents and difficulty of the track on different instruments.
