I know that I'm writing about this many months after the fact but I do believe Josh Brolin's "mmm hmm" line in No Country For Old Men, the one where he finds the satchel full of money, to be the best line of a dialog I've experienced in a movie in many, many years. No exposition, no VO internal dilemma, no clever camera cuts to make sure everyone gets it, just a simple acknowledgment completely in character that summarizes and cleanly communicates a variety of complex problems in about one second.
between paid time off, comp time and sabbatical time i have about three months of vacation queued up for the second half off 2008.
i'm planning on taking a loooooooong cross country trip. anyone have any good suggestions of things i shouldn't miss while traveling around the States?
Last was Pandemic's 9th anniversary party... it blows my mind that we've been around nine years at this point. This year it was held at the Edison in Downtown LA; it's pretty dark there so these pictures aren't going to do the place justice but it's a really cool venue that's been converted out of an old power plant.
As usual, none of these images were snapped by me!
Near the front door to the Edison. It's a sweet place.
Larra, Aaron and Leo. Here Aaron is predicting how he would feel later on.
There were dancers and stuff.
Tom and Mel.
Cam and Amy.
DJORDI.
Ali and Viktor.
Aaron and his date (I'm forgetting her name at the moment...)
PETE!
There's some speeching going on here, probably in reference to how we sell zillions of copies of things, original IP, how good the food is, man it's been nine years, etc., etc.
