Fan Film Podcast

Episode 18

Mr. Fran Casanova is well known in the fan film community for his number of Indiana Jones adventures as well as Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Batman, and numerous other short films. Search for his films on YouTube under the Indiana Jones titles; Hidden Treasure, Memories of the Past, In Search of the Lost Dream, The Dagger of Hell, and his soon to be August release Search for the Lost Idol.

We speak with Fran from his home country of Spain.

Also joining us as interpreter calling in from Argentina is Miss Paola Russo.

NEXT WEEK: Fanboy Will and I interview Mr. Sean Rourke of 3rd Floor Productions.

Episode 19

It's a full blown pleasure to finally speak with a man I've been electronically harassing for six years. Now - instead of stalking him via email and MySpace messages I finally get to call him. And now that I have his number I'll never stop! And I have so much confidence in my heterosexuality I can admit this to the world with a clear conscience. But it isn't what you would think at first. I neither stalk him for his rippling physic or his million dollar home in Beverly Hills. NO! I stalk him for his "Amanda Hades" and his "Geek Week" and his "1st Person Shooter" - not that 1st Person Shooter sickos!

Fanboy Will and I interview Mr. Sean Rourke of 3rd Floor Productions. When he isn't working his day job in Hollywood he's grabbing his camera, his friends, and a world of imagination to make some top quality entertainment that I dare any fanboy or girl not to enjoy.

NEXT WEEK: We conclude our interview with Sean which includes talking more on his team's projects and a few incites into Hollywood and the possible Actor's Strike.

Episode 20

Sean Rourke of 3rd Floor Productions returns for the conclusion of our two-part interview. We learn about 3rd Floor's first feature film and why it hasn't been released as well as their comic book project, "The Midnight Men". Sean also gives his incites into the possible writer's strike which is awfully interesting.

I also did a chat interview with Sean and everyone else involved with Geek Week back in 2006. If interested follow this link to the page. It's a humorous read.

NEXT WEEK: Aaron Schoenke of Bat In The Sun has placed himself as one of the top names when you think of the words fan film. We talk to Aaron this coming Saturday. Join us - same bat time, same bat channel.

Episode 21

Batman Beyond: Year 1, Dark Justice, Legends, and Patient J. These are the fan films written and directed by Aaron Schoenke of Bat In The Sun Productions. For years Aaron has been providing fans with Bat-astic entertainment dealing with the psyche of The Bat and his colorful cast of characters. We learn more about these films and Aaron's newest original work, "Here Lies Revelations".

You can check out previous interviews with Aaron by clicking HERE and HERE.

NEXT WEEK: Sandy Collora made this little, unknown fan film called Batman: Dead End. OK! LIES! Sandy Collora turned fan films on their ass by making the mega popular Batman: Dead End. Now learn about his new, independent feature, "Hunter Prey".

As the truth unfolds, his soul mate, Alexis, turns out the be The Anti-Christ, a renegade demon bent on world domination with a hunger to overtake the Guff, where the souls of the dead await to be reunited with their loved ones. We'd also like to give special mention to the passing of one of our favorite entertainers, Mr. George Carlin, who died seventy-one-years of age on June 22nd of heart failure. He was certainly an innovator and his brand of comedy will be missed. In respect, the first part of this week's podcast is eight minutes of one of his comedy routines we deemed appropriate with a few moments of silence after.

NEXT WEEK: The plan is to speak with Fran Casanova from the beautiful country of Spain. Fran has created a few Indiana Jones fan films over the years as well as a Star Wars one stuck in for good measure. Join us then!

This week we're honored to be speaking with Don Glut for the 1st part of a 2-part interview. Don was making fan films before anyone knew what the heck a fan film was. A lot of Star Wars fans will know Don for his novel adaptation of "The Empire Strikes Back." Today, Don is living his dream writing and directing his own films.

Fan Film Podcast

It's our pleasure to be interviewing one of the greats of the fan film world this week, David Sarrio. David has brought us fan productions of the Punisher, the Incredible Hulk, and also his classic Daredevil. The "cast" ran a bit long this week, but Dave was worth every second.

We'd also like to give comment, if you haven't noticed, to the cosmetic changes on the FFP site hosted now by the wonderful MyPodcast.com. It's going to make the podcasts more easily accessible for our listeners not to mention the life of the FFP hosts a hell of a lot easier.

NEXT WEEK: Join us as Fanboy Will gives us his incites and experiences he had at this year's New York Comic Con. To top that off Mr. Clive Young was kind enough to record the con's fan film panel that he hosted. Thanks to Clive we'll be premiering that here in all its glory.

THIS SUMMER: We've a gambit of guests on tap for the next couple months with such names as Sean Rourke, Fran Casanova, ~DESCIPLE~, Don Glut, and Sandy Colla. I hope I didn't miss anyone. We'll also be spending an episode spotlighting Star Trek fan films so look for that this summer as well.

WANTED: Are you an authority on fan films involving Dr. Who? Ghostbusters? Godzilla? Is there a fan film genre we haven't covered that you know a lot about? If so then contact us using the little envelope icon to the right and send us an email on your idea for our show. If we like the idea we'll invite you on the podcast to discuss it.

Fan Film Podcast Episode 5
Category: MySpace

Fan Film Podcast

We’re back after a week hiatus for an all new episode of the Fan Film Podcast. This week’s special guest is Gary Lobstein. What made Fanboy Will and I excited about talking with Gary is the fact that he broke away from the conventional (and at times overused) properties/characters like Batman, Superman, and Spiderman. He focused on a character not yet seen in live action, DOCTOR FATE. To date he has made two short fan films based on the property; "Dr. Fate and the Crawling Chaos" and "A Question of Fate".

To view these two fan films please check out Gary’s website.

While you’re at it make sure you watch Gary’s earlier fan film work, Hulk: Aftermath.

A man of many talents Gary "GAR" Lobstein is also a drummer for a Saint Louis, MO Alternative Rock Band Not Just Noise. They have some of their tunes on the site so go do your ears a favor and gander a listen.

Not only did we discuss his films, but the world of comics in general. If you’re independent movie buff, a comic book fiend, or are just bored as hell and need something to listen to this weeks cast is your bag baby!

NEXT WEEK: OK! We really mean it this time! We even told him this time! Chris .R. Notarile of Blinky Productions fame will be with us. It will be the 1st part of a 2 part session with Chris. COME ON! You see how many fan films this guy puts out. No way we can fit that all in one show. We’ll catch you all next week. I wish everyone a very Happy Easter is you celebrate that sort of thing. If not just have a great weekend.

PEACE! - Christopher Moshier
