What is a "War on Apathy"????
To create interaction, growth and movement within and beyond the Curve community, on behalf of the many non-profit organizations in need of acknowledgement and support. We want to help those who devote their time to defeating the many faces of suffrage inflicting our community and the world we live in. We hope to evoke awareness and empathy.

Current mood: hopeful
Category: Music
Hey Ladies,
Inspired by The Laminates, I decided to create a group for everyone on the friends list. If you'd like to join, please visit: http://groups.myspace.com/grrlmusic
This should make it much easier for everyone to link up, promote themselves and discuss music in general. Best of luck and watch out also for an invite in your mailbox!!!
Peace!

Beyonce Band Auditions
Current mood: calm
Hey Ladies! Wanna Be in Beyonce's Band?
R&B superstar holding open auditions to find all-female touring band. With the release of her highly-anticipated new album B-Day drawing nigh, the world's most "Bootylicious" R&B diva, Beyonce, is looking for a new band to join her on tour. And she's giving fans a chance to audition for it. There's just one catch: You have to be female.
Whether it's a clever publicity stunt or a testament to the lack of female musicians working in hip-hop and R&B, Beyonce and her creative team have decided to hold nationwide auditions to find her an all-female backing band. According to a press release from the singer's label, auditioners must be at least 18 years of age and come prepared to play Beyonce's hit song, "Work It Out" -- specifically, the version heard on the Beyonce: Live at Wembley DVD. They must also be able to solo for at least one minute.
Instruments up for grabs are drums, keys, bass, guitar, horns (alto, tenor, sax, trumpet) and percussion. In addition to having the chops, auditioners must also be able to play by ear and have a "look" -- the label doesn't specify what kind of look, but we're guessing they don't mean scruffy indie rocker.
All auditions take place on Monday, June 12. Finalists will be flown to New York later that week to perform a final audition for Beyoncé herself.
Here's a list of audition locations. Good luck, ladies!

Cool group to join and a quick hellooo!!!
Current mood: content
Category: MySpace
Hello Ladies,
I know that I haven't been the best at maintaining this group - it's gotten way bigger then I ever imagined. But I'm gonna answer a few FAQ's here and also direct you to this awesome group called THE LAMINATES (to join or for more information go to: http://groups.myspace.com/nowegetlaminates)
1. I'm not associated with any magazine- I just started this group for fun. I used the magazine images to capture the spirit of "what" this group is about "women who rock" etc. 2. Guys are totally allowed to join, so don't be afraid. 3. It's hard to keep track of everyone and link you together - but if you want a blog or bulletin posted, just let me know and I will see what I can do. :)
Hope all is well, best wishes, happiness health and stay strong!!!
xoxo, Julie!
