8-8-08 checkin in.

Sunday 1p-3p come down to Barney's Beanery at 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica.  We'll be cheering on the Dodgers & diggin' Miller Lite Specials.   I will be bringing Batman: Dark Knight posters, so y'wanna get there early.

Tuesday night, come to a FREE movie premiere @ The Hollywood Cemetery.  It's called "Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer!"  I'll be your MC & Robert Englund, AKA Freddy Krueger will be there along with the cast.  Bring blankets for the ground & to cover up.  It gets chilly around all those cadavers.

Wednesday night, I'll be hosting FREE movie night at The Grove LA to see a family classic, "Finding Nemo."  I'll have tons of giveaways & check it out. Mention Leo, The Film Freak & you'll get FREE parking.  Nice.

Saturday night, (8/16) I'll be broadcasting from the Bud Light Lime Beach House in Venice.  I'll be doing a special Star Wars Panel with Star Wars: The Clone Wars posters, with special Star Wars guests (TBD). On the same show, Corey Feldman will be on hand to talk Lost Boys 2.  Venice Beach, just north of the pier!

8pm(pst) I'll be on TV Guide Network for a Close Up Biograpghy on Ben Affleck.  I know what you're thinking, he's too young. Pretty good facts on the dude if you wanna check it out.

OK, my girlfriend's on her 3rd straight hour of watching 'The Bachelorette.' Seriously, if my buddy Chris Harrison wasn't hosting After the Rose, I woulda taken a nickel plated revolver to my temple, (Gun Shot SFX/Body Drop SFX)

Moving on, great news about iTUNES. Now you can download past, present & future podcasts of 'The Film Freak Show' for FREE on iTUNES.  Take me shopping or a on a jog with you, I'd be honored.  I'm hyper, so you might jog faster.  OK, I'm calling bullshit on that one.

This Saturday night @ 7p (pst) check out a star-studded show. One of my favorite guests ever will be in-studio, Doug Jones who's playing Abe Sapien in 'Hellboy II: The Golden Army.'  Doug is an amazing guy to interview.  How lucky am I, I get to interview The Silver Surfer.  If you have a question for Doug, send it over & I just might use it.  If I do use it, I'll send you a signed Hellboy II poster.  Just my way of saying thanks.

Also, on the same show....an in-studio with Kirk DeMicco, writer/director of the upcoming movie, "Space Chimps."  Looks like the kind of animated movie that kids will flip over, but there's  subtle adult humor.  I love those kind of films. We'll have to wait & see. "Space Chimps" opens in theatres July 18th.

July 18th, big day....The Dark Knight IMAX hits the HUGE screen!  I'll pay & wait my turn to see it with the real Batfans.....

On Saturday July 19th, I'll be on the TV Guide Network's show called 'Close Up." It's a biography special on Morgan Freeman....I guarantee you'll hear interesting facts about an amazing actor.  My favorite line from "The Shawshank Redemption," ......"Get busy livin' or get busy dyin."  Ain't it the truth.

That same night, Saturday July 19th 7p (pst) I'll be broadcasting from the 97.1 FM Talk Beach House in Venice.  I will rustle up sweet Bat-Swag. So come by, have a few Bud Light Limes....

Can I tell you about my 4th of July.....the word that comes mind is: Fiasco.  The Professor Tom Leykis extended a nice invite to head up to his place up in Santa Barbara Country....what could be better?  I baked a double crusted cheescake, placed it on ice.  With all the effort, you would thought I was transporting human organs. This thing was chilled, secured & ready for a long drive.

While checking into the hotel at noon, I notice a guy holding a flashlight. With the ongoing fires, the power was going out all night long.  The flames were dangerously close to the hotel & the ashes were the size of corn flakes.  I didn't realize Tom's place was at least 30 miles away.  I go to the business center to download directions to Tom's....

NO Internet, thanks to the fires. I call the cab service, give them Tom's address. We take off.  Our driver was good at lots of things, except for directions & speaking English.  He didn't know how to work his navi. SO Hot, NO air conditioning!  Fiasco a brewin'.  We call Tom, Jack Silver & Bobby Moore & but we were full blown lost.  Don't forget, LA to Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara to Tom's with a cargo of a perishable cheesecake still on ice in the trunk of the sweltering taxi....After about an hour in the cab, we begged wrong way taxi guy to take us back to the hotel.  Why? We had to get the cheesecake in the mini fridge.  So we missed the BBQ & needed a laugh, so we went to go see "The Love Guru."  Mike Myers: Genius.

OK, The Bachelorette is finally over!  I'm done too. Guess what? There's one slice of that cheesecake left.  I'm all about it!  Cheers!

Meet me poolside at Hollywood's World Famous Roosevelt Hotel, kinda.  I'm actually part of TV Guide Network's Summer Movie Preview.  Basically, it's a pre-recorded show where the viewer gets a little insight about what's coming to theatres.  Lots of these panel shows come off a stiff, but I must admit I had a really fun time on this gig. I was joined by correspondent Carly Steel & host Nikki Boyer.  Encore airings: Friday (6/27) 3p & 11p  Saturday (6/28) 7p (pst) Monday & Tuesday 10pm. (all shows are pst)

I threw down about Hancock, Tropical Thunder & The Dark Knight.  At one point in the special, I must confess to whipping something out. What is it? You'll just have to watch and find out for yourself.  Be the 1st person to hit me back with the answer & you will win a Kick Ass DVD like the new edition of "Dirty Harry" or a Heath Ledger Joker Poster, you pick!

This Friday, 3p-7p I'll be in Torrance at the Spearmint Rhino Charity Car Wash.  Rub-A-Dub, baby!  Hot sun, Hot Strippers on a Flash Friday.  What can be better? I'll tell you what's better. Saturday night, come see me broadcasting LIVE at the 97.1 FM Talk Beach Venice House.  The show goes from 7p to 9p (pst).  Last time I did a show from there, about three weeks ago, I ended up doing four (4) LIVE ON AIR Beer Bongs filled w/ Bud Light Lime.  I was buzzed & drinking will be involved.

Freaks!!!

Hot enough for you!  Hopefully 'Iron Man' was all you wanted it to be.  It was the best 2 hours of the early summer movies season.  'Speed Racer,' was all over the place.  If you're a kid between the age of 5 & 12, perfect.  I dunno. Not for me.

Gimme Indy Thursday! NO premieres!  NO advance screenings! I wanna see it with a paying crowd.  I can wait to see it. 

On May 31st, I'm working on a charity 5k run in Covina, CA for a terrific non-profit called, Serenity Infant Care Homes.  My girlfriend works there & they just need all kinds of help.  Serenity places foster kids in really nice homes with decent families. Good times, good cause!

What about this VeniceBeach House?  97.1 The FM Talk Station is taking over a beach house for 3 months  I'm pretty sure I'll be WEBCASTING my radio show LIVE every Saturday night 7p-9p (pst).  On June 7th, I'm gonna have a riot with the cast of "Homo Erectus."  Filmmaker Adam Rifkin, great guy!  He directed, "Detroit Rock City." Need I say more.  Awww Yeah!

Hey Film Freaks!
It's early Saturday morning, can't get back to sleep. So I say, why not crack open a Monster Energy Drink to add to my hyper behavior.  Addiction is ugly.  The first sip: Glorious.  OK, lots to get to. First off, thanks to all that have come to visit me in the Hornitos Green Room.  We've been to Air Conditioned, Main on Main Street in Santa Monica, Plush inside The Key Club & this Friday I'll be at Ritual in Hollywood.  Please bring a Designated driver because the tequila is flowin' with no slowin.  97.1 FM Talk has a VIP list of 100 people. Hit me up here & I can easily put you on the list. Ritual is on Cahuenga in Hollywod & we'll be taking a flamethrower to that place from 11p until last call.

A Little Movie Action For You!  If you're into comic book inspired films, you have to see Robert Downey Jr. in "Iron Man."  What a complete blast.  If someone bags on this movie, do us all a favor, just tell them to stay home. No one wants to see your face. Really well done.  Robert Downey Jr. is gonna blow us all away later in the summer with the new Ben Stiller comedy, "Tropical Thunder." More on that later.....

I've gotta new video up on You Tube. It's a sit down interview with the amazing WILLEM DAFOE.  He's starring in a mystery thriller called, "Anamorph."  It's got the same dark tone as, "Silence of the Lambs" or "Seven." I'm really proud of the interview & hope you can check it out. It was filmed at the Chateau Marmont Hotel on the Sunset Strip by a very talented bunch of guys I work with, Ryan, Matt & Josh who do great things at a production house called Open Door Productions.  They do everything from Demo Reels to full blown TV & film production.  Thanks dudes!  I'll have a shot of Monster Energy for yous guys.
