A Look at a Lunatic
Current mood: amused
Category: Religion and Philosophy
I can't believe I just left Tod (one of my favorite bloggers) a blog comment saying that I never make a big deal out of someone saying something about one of my friends on here. Actually, it just doesn't happen very often, and it's never been anything that was so out of line that I felt it necessary to do anything more than just leave a comment. Well, today, that changed. One of my other favorite writers on here, Moshellie, wrote a blog where she posted hate mail some douchebag left her. At first, I thought I'd be content with just leaving a blog comment, blasting the prick, and that would be the end of it for me. But I eventually felt an uncontrollable urge to let this dicksmack know exactly how I felt, so I sent him a message and let him have it. The following is my message, and his reponse. Enjoy.
Where the fuck do you get off calling someone ugly (no wonder you wear glasses) and attacking their kid (ditto) just because they don't share your religious/political/scientific views and because you totally didn't understand the meaning of a blog? I would never call your daughter names just because you're an archaic, fascist, brain-washed believer in the biggest ghost story and con game ever played on mankind. Grow a brain, you slimy, rotting, dried up piece of fuckfruit. And praise Jeebus!
And his:
Fuck off and die--please! In that order. Nice smile for a fat, stupid, loooooooooozer. My daughter can take care of herself, she doesn't need a sniveling punk like you or anyone else to comment on what someone else says. As far as god or Jesus goes--FUCK THEM TOO! That cocksucker is nothing but an absentee father (probably a lot like you) who fucks anyone & everything in the ass whenever he pleases. Any idiot who thinks that god is good is just biding time until the FUCKING begins. You fool! I don't believe in god's existence and worship him--any longer. I believe in him and despise him--after years of loving, learning about and worshipping him. He's real and he's really fucked up. Look at the world and see the job he's done, or at least allowed Anyway, you Mish and the kid can go die! Sooner the better. PS/ I wear glasses thanks to losing one eye and damage to the other while defending your pitiful asses in Afg! As they say in postcards:"wish you were here" BITCH
WOW. Well, that explains why you attacked Michelle and her little boy. You're fucking nuts. Thanks for the entertainment. I got myself a blog and didn't even have to come up with anything. The next time you want to insult someone's kid in a cowardly private message, make sure she or her friends won't put your lame ass on display. Now, go wash your plugged in toaster in the kitchen sink, you incomparable retard. You won't be missed.

Obama The Anti-Christ
Current mood: focused
Category: Religion and Philosophy
People, listen to me. Barrack Hussein Obama is without any doubt the Anti-Christ. Here's the proof:
The Bible tells us the Anti-Christ will come as a man of peace. Sound familiar? It also tells us that he will come mounted on a white female horse. Obama's mother is white who had 6 African husbands. He will come to deceive us. Obama says he's a Christian, but in fact, he was born Muslim, has never denied being muslim, and prays on Friday's facing Mecca! The bible also tells us he will become the most powerful man on Earth. Hello??? He will pretend to be good and righteous, but in fact, he's the devil himself. He will be in his 40s.
Wake up, people. This man is in league with Al Quaida and will in fact lead them in their evil attempts to rule the world, and destroy the God-Given United States of America! You can't possibly trust this man. He will destroy all that's good and holy and will bring the world to the brink of destruction if we allow him to. Good God-fearing people, let's stand together and fight the Anti-Christ! Halleluiah.
There will be allies of this evil man who you need to avoid. Muslims such as Oprah Winfrey, Louis Farrakanh, Jesse Jackson, and Al Sharpton as well as all other American Muslim leaders will feed you lies about Obama to steer you in the wrong direction so you will be oblivious to the truth of the second coming of Satan himself. Don't be fooled. Vote for Mccain. Praise Jesus!

A New Trend in Online Gaming
Current mood: animated
Category: Games
If you're very familiar with online multiplayer games, you probably know that one popular way to make money with them is to make them free for awhile, until enough people are playing it, and then the game is turned into a pay to play game. So you try to find free games, and play them until they aren't free anymore, or maybe you find one that you REALLY like and then give in and spend your hard earned cash to feed your addiction, or casual hobby if you're lucky. Or you can find a game that will always be free and crappy, unless you luck out and find one of the few real gems out there. I could write a whole blog on this subject alone, complete with a huge rant about how online addiction is being controlled, exacerbated and taken advantage of by a bunch of greedy cocksuckers, but I'd rather talk about something else right now.
I'm sure you've noticed all of the MySpace applications (AKA apps) that MySpace is being filled with right now. I happen to love them. You can send cute little things to your family, friends, sweethearts and stalking victims; you can endulge yourself in favorite hobbies and interests such as movies, religion, animals, whatever the hell strikes your fancy; and of course, you can play games. All kinds of games. TONS of 'em. And guess what? They're all FREE! Yay! So I have to put up with a free ad once in a while; that's a small price to pay for being able to enjoy myself killing pirates, blowing up armies, shooting my friends, or buying and selling stuff until I'm richer than one of those online gaming owner dicksmacks. Good deal!
However, there is a trend coming along right now that will ruin some of the best of these games that MySpace, Facebook and others have to offer. Well, we can only make so much off of advertisments, so what's a good way to take advantage of all of these millions of people playing our games? Allow those who are willing to pay a small amount of cash to have a short-term advantage. So what if most people won't think it worth it to give us the money they slaved for; we've got tons of rich assholes who will fill our pockets with quick, easy dough! Sounds good!
The main problem these entrepreneurs will face, whether they know it or not, is obvious to anyone with a brain: These games will be ruined for most players, and pretty soon, there will be almost nothing but a bunch of retards playing a game of how-much-can-I-outspend-you, who will get tired of such silliness after a short time, and now the game is nothing but a memory. There are a ton of great games out there that will be trashed by this fashionable new money making scheme, and I, for one, will have to go back to the old way of trying to play quality multiplayer games. And, of course, the ability these geniuses have blessed us with to be able to easily have fun with our MySpace friends will be ripped out of our hands. Oh well. Welcome to the world of the easy buck over long term business sense. Have fun while you can!

Who’s in Control?
Current mood: lazy
Category: Religion and Philosophy
Have you heard of the taker mentality? If you haven't, I suggest the Daniel Quinn novel called Ishmael. If you're not much into books, you can watch the movie that introduced me to this idea in 1999, called Instinct, starring Anthony Hopkins and Cuba Gooding Jr., which was inspired and suggested by Ishmael. It's a great movie, in my opinion.
Who are takers? We are. This society. Probably you, and definitely me. I'd say just about everyone is at least a little bit of a taker, but some more so than others. We rule over this world and over our own lives, or so we think. We slaughter animals, far too many for us to eat. We abuse other animals, we abuse each other, we waste our resources. We worry about what kind of clothes we have, what cars we drive, how much stuff we can accumulate; meanwhile, hundreds of millions of people are starving in the world, while we hoard crazy amounts of food, letting it go bad rather than letting those who need it have it. This taker mentality affects almost everything and everyone on this planet.
Even though the message was very straight forward, many people didn't understand the message in Instinct. This message was summed up very well by Hopkins, when Gooding asked him about what we should do, whether we should give up our technology and go live in the jungle. Hopkins dismissed his question as a stupid, specious one, and let him start to leave the cell before finally saying, "Dominion. We have only one thing to give up: Our dominion. We don't own the world. We're not kings yet. Not gods. Can we give that up? Too precious, all that control? Too tempting, being a god?"
The recent taser incidents in the news in the last few days have brought this subject to the forefront of my mind lately. When I saw that college student get apprehended for asking a question and tasered for non-violently resisting, I couldn't help but think, "takers." How dare he speak out about things that question the leadership of this country? How dare he question the cops' authority? How dare he refuse to go quietly when they're in charge? How could they let him go? There would be chaos if they did that. Bullshit. There would be an exercise of freedom and respect for the rights of human beings. Now, this kid was asking for trouble and was probably putting on an act, but it makes no difference. These police officers were punishing someone for questioning their authority, and it happens all the time.
The taker mentality is the reason we invaded Iraq. It's the reason people beat their spouses, why our governments take away our freedoms, why we are raping the land and mistreating the animals. People need control, so they try to take it. The problem is, none of us have or will ever have the kind of control we are so desperately seeking. The more we try to take it, the more it slips through our fingers as we imprison ourselves in our own fear, greed and closed-mindedness. As long as we continue to cling to these ridiculous concepts of what will make us happy, we will never be a free, peaceful world. Will we ever wake up? I really have to wonder.
**Edit** I'm bumping this up for new readers and friends. Hopefully, I'll start writing on a regular basis again.

My Tribute to 9/11
Current mood: sad
Category: Goals, Plans, Hopes
It was important for me to reflect on the 9/11 attack today. I spent a little time reading blogs and watching video clips on the subject, but I didn't let it command the focus of my day. I watched VERY little TV about it, and read nothing but 3 blogs on it. In my opinion, it's important to truly remember the importance of what happened on that incredible day in history, so that we might learn from it. What I don't think we should do is spend as much time, energy and MONEY on it as we have. We could put our focus on things that will do so much more good, like food for the starving, jobs for the homeless, families for orphans, health for those suffering with disease, peace for those struggling to survive against one form of violence or another. Such a great percentage of the problems in our society stem from us being able to do something about it, but instead focusing on less important things, and letting those problems get bigger and bigger. Speaking of which, what about the Iraq war? If I hear or see one more person use this day as a vehicle to support what we are doing in Iraq, my fucking head will explode. Iraq has NOTHING to do with 9/11; get that through your thick fucking skull! Actually, that's not exactly true, because ironically, what we are doing over there is creating more terrorists and making it much more likely that another "9/11" will happen. Now I realize that supporting the troops and supporting the war are not entirely the same thing, but I'm even getting tired of people using this day as an opportunity to support our troops. Things along the line of, "on this day that we were attacked, it is important for us to remember that our heroic troops are risking their lives for our freedom," can be heard or read ad nauseum, and it's bullshit. They are risking their lives for Bush's wet dream. They're risking their lives to make rich people richer, powerful people more powerful, and to better control the citizens of our country and people of the world. If you really want to support them, support them coming HOME, for crying out loud. If any "heroes" should have been in our thoughts on this day, it was the firefighters who gave their lives trying to save the lives of others. THAT was a true heroic act, and we should not only remember them, but also encourage others to follow in their footsteps. I have a firefighter MySpace friend who has said that firefighters are not heroes; they are just doing their job. I'm sorry, but of all the people we call heroes, firefighters rank way up there, especially when they do what was done at the twin towers 6 years ago. I believe it is very important to focus on bravery that helps rather than attacks without warrant; thoughts that are peaceful and open-minded, rather than those that are violent, selfish and myopic; movements that will heal the world, rather than those that will maintain the status quo and keep us in the moral and logical dark ages. Remember what happened; please just don't allow those memories to cloud your focus and confuse you as to what is truly important in this world. Thanks for reading.

Allmighty and Infallible Heroes
Current mood: quixotic
Category: News and Politics
What is it about most people that drives them to be overly supportive and loyal to certain groups like soldiers, police officers, family members, that sexual partner who will agree to dress up like Wilma from Buck Rogers and force you to… Uh, forget I said that. Certain fantasies need to be kept to oneself. ;) Ok, in my experience, most people who are against the Iraq war are every bit as supportive of our troops as those who are for it. You can support the soldiers while thinking that Bush's war was a completely defective and unacceptable concept from the very beginning. In my opinion, calling out those against the war as being against the troops is brainless, sleazy, nonsensical, closed-minded tripe. With that having been said, "supporting the troops" is a little more complicated for me. I support teachers, in the sense that I support good people doing a good job in that profession, as it is a very important one. In that vein, I support our troops, but just like with teachers, you have plenty that are good, but also plenty that are not so good. What about the soldier who returns home from war, and promptly continues his habit of beating the shit out of his wife whenever she pisses him off? What about the brave, patriotic, heroic warrior who steals from natives of the country we are currently conqueri-I mean, HELPING? So I can support the good ones and not the bad ones; does that make me some horribly unpatriotic asshole? Fuck you. I feel the same way about police officers. I want the people protecting me to be good people, fighting for justice, fairness, the law, and all that neat stuff. However, if you think that all or even the vast majority of cops are actually doing that, I've got some penny stock that will multiply your investment by the factor of 10 in the next week. Even those officers that are mostly great people inside will be put in situations where they'll deprive people of their rights. Ever seen one of those videos where a dozen cops converge on a suspect who is just standing or laying there trying to give up, and they beat the ever living shit out of him? Real brave and honorable, there, sporty. When every single cop on the scene does something like that, are they all wholly horrible human beings, worthy of our complete and utter contempt? Probably not, but they aren't all heroes either. Shouldn't we try to accept the fact that while certain jobs are more dangerous and honorable than others, that we shouldn't just blindly honor each and every person with such job as if simply being a member of that group entitles you to hero status? I'll support my country, my troops, my teachers, but don't ask me to either blindly support them 100%, or accept the label of an unpatriotic, cowardly asshole from Hell. That kind of unfair, feeble-minded drivel might very well get you elected into office, but it doesn't say much for your true character.

Black and White, Hot and Cold, Grey or Gray? ** The Bloggers Celebration**
Current mood: scared
Category: Religion and Philosophy

Ok, here's how it works. Vote by posting a comment in V's blog. You have to format the vote with Roman Numeral of the category first, then the blog name, then the blogger name. So, for example, if you wanted to vote for the black and white blog, you'd post, "XVI. Black and White, Hot and Cold, Grey or Gray? by King Jeremy the Wicked"
What I'm about to blog about is one of the reasons I'm as liberal as I am. It's part of my outlook on religion, politics, laws, relationships, really everything. It's one reason why I'm often so independent, open-minded, confused, irreverent, compassionate, pragmatic, and screwed up, just to name a few.
I don't believe in black and white. Almost always, I see that things are in fact grey. This doesn't mean that I think it's ok for me to hurt people, or do other things that I either believe are wrong or have no moral opinion on, and just say, "Oh well, everything is grey! There can't really be anything wrong with it!" No, it just means that I recognize that it's all just opinion, and that many times we won't agree on what's right and wrong; but I have strong opinions on what's right and wrong, and I refuse to compromise those principles. That is, until those principles change, which they often do.
Yes, a very large part of this outlook I have is what is known as moral relativism, something most people seem to look down on. Why? If there is a true right and wrong to everything, who is to say what is what? You? Me? Your religion? Keep in mind that there have been thousands of religions on this planet, and if you are going to pick one and insist that everyone should follow its rules, then you are ignoring all others with no real good evidence that yours is the right one. And if you find value and truth in many different religions, don't believe in the total truth of any, and don't claim to know exactly what is right and wrong, then you are at the very least acting on a certain amount of moral relativism, because you have chosen your own moral interpretation. In other words, all but the most radical religious folk are at least partially moral relativists, but only a minority follow this philosophy as much as I do.
Having this belief means that I think almost all things are on a scale, rather than being just one way or another. For example, I don't believe that someone is really only gay or straight. I believe we are all bisexual, but that most have such a strong leaning in one direction or the other that they can accurately be classified that way. So, if you're 97% straight, you're called straight.
Think about it. Nothing is completely blue. It can be different shades of blue, or yellow can be added, making it green or blue/green, or it can be a certain red/blue, creating a purple. Nothing is cold or hot; to one individual, 70 degrees might be scorching hot, while to another, it's damn cold. To many animals and humans, 70 is just right; in fact, most people would agree that "just right" is somewhere around 70 degrees. Does that mean that someone who thinks that 85 degrees is just right is wrong? Hardly.
What's tall? What's thin? Bright? Sharp? Wide? Healthy? Ugly? Strong? Dumb? Strange? Fast? Round? Square? Wait... Aha, you got me. Yes, there are some things out there that can pretty much be considered complete fact, like that 5 is a prime number. But prove me wrong that NO moral has ever been shown to be completely factual. Nothing is truly right or wrong, it's all just opinion.
Why does any of this matter? What difference does it make whether murder being wrong is just opinion, or some kind of cosmic fact? I'll tell you why. Because without this kind of philosophy at work, we never would have progressed the way we have. Most people would still be worshipping the sun. We wouldn't have medicine, or airplanes, or music. Without this philosophy, we wouldn't have hardly any philosophy at all. We'd just be getting all our ideas from some book or something, never truly thinking for ourselves. I LOVE this philosophy. I NEED it.
Show me that I'm wrong. Expose the grey as a fraud, and display the reality of the black and white for me. Make me realize that there is one powerful force out there determining exactly what our morals are or should be. Bust up my arrogant, anarchist, heathenish bullshit. Let's see what you got.

How Do You Define Your Politics?
Current mood: curious
Category: News and Politics
I asked a friend of mine what kind of blog I should write, and she was insistent on funny. Sorry Jen, but I'm hot and sweaty, frustrated and irritated; I'm just not up for funny.
I consider myself a liberal libertarian. I want the government to leave us alone unless they are either providing basic care and services, or keeping us from infringing on other's rights. I can't stand the Democrats, and the Republicans are just indescribably retarded (the politicians, not the people).
The government needs to stay the hell out of the bedroom. It needs to make sure all rich people pay what they are ordered to pay. We need to have true separation of church and state and true freedom of speech. We need to stop waging war under the delusional pretense of keeping the peace, or the paranoid and arrogant premise of protecting ourselves.
There is an interesting political test I've run into on the internet that I'd like you to take a look at. Here is a chart of where our current presidential hopefuls are defined by this test.

I've always said that we have two parties in this country: the conservative party, and the ultra conservative party, and this test and chart pretty well illustrate that. I took the test, and I end up pretty close to the bottom (libertarian) and moderately to the left of center, not too far from Gandhi and the Dalai Lama. My score was:
Economic Left/Right: -3.75 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -7.08Tell me how you define yourself politically. What is your basic political philosophy? What are some of the general changes that need to take place in this country?

Pascal's Wager Doesn't Make Sense
Current mood: optimistic
Category: Religion and Philosophy
A few days ago, a friend of mine proposed this to me:
"Ok, look at it this way: If I'm wrong about God, then all I'm doing is wasting a little time. But if you're wrong about God, then you're going to Hell. So why not believe?"
This is known as Pascal's Wager. It is a concept that was made famous by a mathmatician from the 1600's named Blaise Pascal. It sounds real good, doesn't it? Not when you really think about it logically.
One problem is that it is assumed that there are two choices: Christianity or atheism; be saved, or burn in hell. What about all of the other religions out there? What if one of them is true, and Christianity isn't? What if Christianity is true? Won't all of those who don't believe in Christ burn in hell, not just atheists? People pushing this way of thinking seem to want to have it both ways, meaning to be able to focus on the Christian version of heaven and hell, but also assume that anyone who believes in a god will be ok. That's just not logical.
This idea can work for just about any religion, so it really can't work for any of them. I could sit here and tell you that I'm a god, and that if you follow my rules, you'll live in peaceful bliss for an eternity, but if you don't, you'll go through a more torturous experience than imaginable forever. Sound like a good deal? Follow my rules, so you don't have to face the possibility of endless wrath? Of course not. Anyone can make that kind of claim, and it's preposterous, whether it comes from me, or from text written 2000 years ago.
Another problem is the sincerity issue. If Christianity is true, then I need to genuinely believe in Christ as the savior in order to be saved. I would think that believing just to be on the safe side wouldn't be a true belief and I wouldn't be saved at all.
The whole idea of "believe in me and you'll be saved" seems ridiculous to me. I've used this example in the comment section of one of my previous blogs, and I'll use it again. There's a woman who doesn't have a belief in any gods, but she lives an exemplary life. She gives her time and money to charity, she never purposfully hurts anyone, she's a model citizen. But because she doesn't have a god belief, she's doomed for eternal torture. In the meantime, the guy who chopped up and ate 20 kids, read the bible before being executed, realizes that Christ is his savior, and Bam! He's heaven bound! Make sense to any of you? Does that sound like a good god that you should follow?
I think if there is a good god out there, he or she definiately isn't going to punish anyone for simply not having knowledge of his existence. So stop trying to threaten us into believing, because none of it makes any sense whatsoever.
