About This Blog

For those who didn't know, this blog has actually been a mirror of my regular weblog: FoxVox.org  And although having a blog at myspace is no doubt a good idea, it's a bit much to have to keep up a separate blog on multiple sites. So, I'm officially just going to post a link to my blog's domain at FoxVox.org  - or you can even directly subscribe to my foxvox xml feed too.  Thanks for being a reader!

Denmark's Black Sun
Category: Pets and Animals

This image will show you why every year in Denmark flocks of more than a million European starlings are called the "Black Sun". (Click the image on that page to see the larger version where you can make out the individual birds!) Astounding!

Just a quick post for the moment.... I finally installed a new gallery script and now all my paintings and Celtic art and photos can now be sent as free e-cards too, if you're so inclined: click here for the new gallery.

Through the Leaves
Category: Art and Photography

I was in a green mood the other day, wanted to paint lots of greens, or at least say the word a lot - you can't say 'green' without feeling springy. (Egad, now I'm thinking about Ruby Rod saying, 'Super Green' in Fifth Element - I need help.)  Electric greens seem especially lush when painting, even in watercolors, and it's fun to add bright yellows to greens and see how much like toxic waste you can get them! *grin*  Anyway, here's the result of my 'easy being green' experience the other day:

As usual, I have this available in various forms and venues... Click here to see this design on t-shirts, cards, journals, etc.  You can also get unframed prints in 4"x5", 8"x10", and 9"x12" sizes from my DeviantArt Print Shop.

Red Rose with Rain Drops
Category: Art and Photography

I took this photo of a classic rose that blossomed on a new rose bush that we have next to our turtle pond.  (Technically, the rose bush is IN the turtle pen area too, but that's just to stop the local squirrels from eating it - they seem to have a thing for red flowers for some reason, usually chew them off at the stem and then just leave them there.  Maybe they are offended by them - LOL.  But anyway, I digress.) This image is available on everything from apparel to ceramics, and paper goods like greeting cards and blank journals, and more! Click here to wander through the roses!

Abstract Celtic Watercolor
Current mood: busy
Category: Art and Photography

Sorry I haven't posted much lately - been busy working on a few projects that aren't yet muchly post-about-able - LOL.  Luckily, I sort of had this little watercolor waiting in the wings for just such an occasion.

This is just a little painting, 5"x7", playing with some Celtic elements.  I'm not sure if I really like it or not, but there it is!

Legend of the Green Dragon
Category: Games

John has installed a version of the classic Legend of the Green Dragon (complex text adventure, fantasy D&D type browser-based RPG) game on his website, with some cool personal modifications, of course!  So if you are looking for something fun to do online, stop by!  You can gather gold, slay a few evil creatures in the forest, drink some robust ale and even chat with other online players, among many other things. You never know what could happen there - create a character today and goof off for a while!

Squidoo Lens: Your Art Online
Category: Art and Photography

I've had a bunch of art-related links in my bookmarks and scribbled on little pieces of paper all over my desk for a while.  So when I heard about Squidoo.com, I decided to create a 'lens' as they call it, named Your Art Online. It's about sharing and selling your art on the internet and has all kinds of links for sites and art challenges and related material.  So stop by and check out the lens if you have a moment! Feel free to 'rank' the page too if the mood hits you. (I'm also open to suggestions for additional sites and links as I'm sure there are many excellent ones I've not added yet - feel free to leave a comment here if you know of any!)
