I Hate The Rain
Current mood: sympathetic
Category: Life

Today was the last day of vacation for the household.  We get up early to get all the work done that we didn't do while on vacation, like cleaning house and laundry.

As for most parts of the west coast, we are drenched in constant rain.  I wake up to a flood in the area around the pool, working its way into the laundry room and very close to my neighbor's front door.  After changing shoes to try and push the water out of the area with a rubber push broom, one of the neighbors (now my new hero) arrives with a small water pump!  We hook together hoses, another neighbor helps sweep water out of the laundry room and hold the extention cord out of the water and my daughter and dog run back and forth through the water.  She was helping, the dog thought she was helping haha.

There is suppose to be another storm coming in so my daughter and I head out to the City yard for sand bags.  Us and about 100 other people. They have piles of burlap bags waiting for you to fill. There are shovels all over, lots of people looking confused and these very large funnel thingys that you hold the bag under and City workers shovel the sand that drops into the bag.  Three scoops then he yells "good!" and you drag the bag away.  Now all is good until you realize your bag has a big hole on the bottom or on the side! haha.  And how is this for irony?  The lots was flooded in several areas, yet there are burlap bags and piles of sand all over? haha.  Yea.

Speaking of burlap, I can't get the smell off of my hands, no matter how many times I wash them.  Blech.

We get back and start to unload the sand bags.  Other tenants come out to help, help tie the bags and lay them out.  I live next to some fine and kind people.  We are a hose short to get the water to drain across the yard and out to the street so I go out to buy one.

I head over to Rite Aid to pick one up.  Did you know its too soon in the season for them to sell hoses?  But if you want Christmas crap at 75% off, they have lots of it left haha.  As I'm looking at the crap on sale, the neighbor's wife finds me in the store to tell me her husband accidently broke the broom haha.  She wants to buy a new one.  No worries...without their help, we'd of been screwed.

I go to Home Depot and find lots of hoses and push brooms and come back home.  By the time I get back, the water is all drained out!  Yea......Jason is our hero!  So nice to have a man with a pump living near by haha.

On the drive back from the City yard, we are watching the black clouds move back in and the rain starting up again.  As we are complaining about the rain, the flooding having to get the sand bags when I remember that its far worse in northen California and other areas.  We could be on fire like in Oklahoma City and parts of Texas.  We could REALLY be flooded like in the south.  I feel bad for those who have had to really put up with mother nature and not just a minor inconvienence.

And there are those here who have to be in this weather...so many people still out about town pushing their carts, or car's aren't working or they don't own one.  I feel for you too.

The second storm to hit today was to arrive by 1:30pm. I'll be darned if at 1:28, the rains returned.

I had plans to hang out with friends and relax.  Instead, I'm on my way to the laundry mat.  Feeling blessed that I can get there and be dry, that I can afford today to pay for the quarters and my baby girl is here to help me. Such is life.

Let it go for 2006...By T.D. Jakes
Current mood: relieved

I'm spirtual but not the most religious person you'll ever meet.  I'm leaving this as I read it.  It really hit home in so many areas.  Hope it brings some peace for each of you who read it.

Let it go for 2006...By T. D. Jakes

There are people who can walk away from you.

And hear me when I tell you this! When people can walk away from you: let them walk. I don't want you to try to talk another person into staying with you, loving you, calling you, caring about you, coming to see you, staying attached to you. I mean hang up the phone.

When people can walk away from you let them walk.  Your destiny is never tied to anybody that left.

The bible said that, they came out from us that it might be made manifest that they were not for
us. For had they been of us, no doubt they would have continued with us. [1 John 2:19]

People leave you because they are not joined to you. And if they are not joined to you, you can't make them stay.
  Let them go.

And it doesn't mean that they are a bad person it just means that their part in the story is over. And you've got to know when people's part in your story is over so that you don't keep trying to raise the dead.
You've got to know when it's dead.

You've got to know when it's over. Let me tell you something. I've got the gift of good-bye. It's the tenth spiritual gift, I believe in good-bye. It's not that I'm hateful, it's that I'm faithful, and I know whatever God means for me to have He'll give it to me. And if it takes too much sweat I don't need it. Stop begging people to stay.
   Let them go!!

If you are holding on to something that doesn't belong to you and was never intended for your life, then you need to......LET IT GO!!!
If you are holding on to past hurts and pains ......LET IT GO!!!
If someone can't treat you right, love you back, and see your worth.....LET IT GO!!!
If someone has angered you ........LET IT GO!!!
If you are holding on to some thoughts of evil and revenge......LET IT GO!!!
If you are involved in a wrong relationship or addiction......LET IT GO!!!
If you are holding on to a job that no longer meets your needs or talents.....LET IT GO!!!
If you have a bad attitude.......LET IT GO!!!
If you keep judging others to make yourself feel better......LET IT GO!!!
If you're stuck in the past and God is trying to take you to a new level in Him......LET IT GO!!!
If you are struggling with the healing of a broken relationship.......LET IT GO!!!
If you keep trying to help someone who won't even try to help themselves.......LET IT GO!!!
If you're feeling depressed and stressed.......LET IT GO!!!
If there is a particular situation that you are so used to handling yourself and God is saying "take
your hands off of it," then you need to......LET IT GO!!!
Let the past be the past. Forget the former things.  GOD is doing a new thing for 2006!!!! LET IT GO!!!
Get Right or Get Left... think about it, and then ....LET IT GO!!!

The Party Part II
Current mood: tired

It wasn't so bad after all.  I didn't drink a drop though and did enjoy watching a few of the others get very drunk haha.  Not drinking also allowed me to be sharp enough to answer questions correctly and be the winner of the quiz contest. woo hooo.  What was my prize?  A one night stay for two at the Rex Hotel in San Francisco and cash.

The food was rich...can you say Kobe Beef?  I refused to eat the rabbit though.

I was still bent on the whole "smug marrieds" as my friend Erin put it perfectly.  I don't do snob very well.  Could be why I'm not living on the Bluffs with a daughter named Britney?  ha

Things that make you say hmmmmmm.............

Hollywood Madam to open Nevada 'stud farm'

By Steve Gorman Fri Nov 18,10:25 AM ET

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Former "Hollywood Madam" Heidi Fleiss, whose previous career running a call-girl ring landed her in prison, is returning to the world's oldest profession -- to open a Nevada brothel catering to women.

Fleiss said on Thursday she has struck a deal with a licensed brothel owner in Nevada, where prostitution is legal, to turn one of his three establishments, the Cherry Patch, into a glitzy new bordello that she will rename Heidi Fleiss' Stud Farm.

She plans to remodel the building, located outside the town of Pahrump, Nevada, west of Las Vegas near the California border, with skylights, marble tiling, palm trees and waterfalls, and hopes to reopen the business within two months.

Fleiss said she is taking applications from men seeking to work in what she says will be the world's first licensed brothel catering exclusively to female clients.

"The Hollywood Madam is looking for a few good men out there," she told Reuters in a telephone interview in the midst of her move from Los Angeles to Nevada. "It's going to be an oasis in the desert."

Fleiss said she is aiming for an initial stable of about 20 male prostitutes who would charge $250 an hour -- far less, she said, then the fees paid by clients of the call-girl ring she ran a decade ago.

"Prostitution and modeling are the only businesses where women make more money than men," she said, adding that her "studs" would split their earnings 50/50 with her, but "keep all their tips."

Fleiss acknowledged that her biggest potential obstacle is her 1995 conviction on federal charges of tax evasion and money laundering, stemming from her prostitution service catering to the rich and famous. She ultimately served 21 months in prison and was released in November 1998.

Nevada state law allows counties to deny a brothel license to convicted felons, although Fleiss said she knows of several bordello owners with criminal records. She also said her plan was to operate her "stud farm" under an existing license.

"There's still a little bit of legalities that we're working through, but it's going to be OK," she said.

Her Las Vegas-based lawyer, Richard Schonfeld, said Fleiss will not be an owner or licensee of the establishment but merely an employee with the title of "madam/hostess."

She must first obtain a work card from the county sheriff's department, a process that requires far less scrutiny than applying for a business license, Schonfeld said.

"She just wants to be employed there and go through the regular steps that any employee at a brothel has to go through," he said. "She going to lend her name and her charm to the business."

Representatives of the Nye County Commission could not immediately be reached for comment. Commission chairwoman Candice Trummell told the Los Angeles Times that county attorneys were reviewing the proposed business and it was unclear whether it would be approved.

Assuming the brothel opens as planned, Fleiss said she is certain there will be plenty of demand for its services.

"Women make more money these days, they're calling the shots, they're more powerful. And let's face it, it's hard to meet someone," she said.

"And then you've got the situation with the old husband leaving his wife for the younger girl, and the lady sitting at home crying. Well, now she has a place to go, and say, 'Right back at you, buddy, and on your credit card.'"

Back after a few days from being off work
Current mood: Not wanting to be fully back to WORK mode

Why is it, that you manage to take a few days of well deserved time off, to only be buried when you get back to work?  It wasn't even "vacation" time that I took.  It was because I was starting to live at the office and if I didn't leave, I was headed for either a. A melt down b. death of several co-workers c. Workers comp from a stress claim d.  A missing persons report filed by my daughter.

Speaking of daughters, she will be 14 in a few months.  I hardly saw her from Thursday - Monday evening.  I don't know if I want to cry from joy or cry that she is growning up and trying out her wings   I do feel good about the never ending talks of the evils of the world and making her practice the word NO haha.  She is a good person and I'm fortunate she is mine.  Remind me that I said that when she is being very 13 around the house haha.

Ugh!  Ok, back to work for me.  If I don't post much until after Christmas, I'm not dead, just at work.

The Man Scam on Myspace
Current mood: cranky
Category: Romance and Relationships

When I first signed on with myspace, the account sat with no activity for oh, about four months.  Then I remembered I had the account and filled in the blanks, figured out what a blog was and made some new friends.  For the most part, the people who I've interacted with online or in person have been very cool. Most of them, I already knew in noncyber life. And the rest are music/band sites.

In the past couple of weeks, I've recieved almost daily messages from men from out of state or other countries who are "looking for the love of their life", they "can see the world through my eyes" (wasn't aware that you could see much of my eyes at all when I wear glasses -  quick, what color are they??  Yea....my point exactly), or is willing to travel TODAY to meet.  And they all have yahoo accounts and are available to chat right NOW.  Ladies, are you getting these same emails?

I've come to the conclusion that they are either 1. fake, 2. real guys looking for sugga mommas or 3. men looking for a green card.

Then there are the one's who if they say hi and you say hi back, that pretty much means you want to do them right now.  Do the brains of some men really process Hello as Oh Baby Take Me Right Now??  I'm perfectly capable of saying those words if that's what I want.  But just because I reply that doesn't mean I'll come by and meet you at your house tonight.

Which leads me to the next kind of myspace guy.  He's the one who doesn't want to meet in public, just "come over and have a drink". Righttttttt I'm going to go over to a total stranger's house and allow him to give me drinks where I don't know his name, or anything about him or if I even get to go home. Or worse yet, end up scatter around town in black plastic garbage bags.  Women, are you actually saying YES to these guys?  If so, WAKE THE FUCK UP AND SNAP OUT OF IT. Yes, I realize that was strong. But it was necessary.  And No, they can not come over either.  I'm picky who I allow in my world and you, total stranger man who is asking for sex, is not it.

Finally, there is the guy who swears he saw posted on your profile that you are here to just "play".  Men, when I say I'm looking to exprience life with cool people, that does not mean I'm looking to get laid by strangers.  So for gawd sakes, if you can manage to read English and understand it, please please PLEASE stop sending me the annoying messages, and I'll stop clicking the "spam" button on you.

Whew, I feel better already.
