What Would Jesus Really Do?
Current mood: optimistic
Category: Goals, Plans, Hopes

Why?...Really?...Can you really not afford $32 a month to make sure a child lives?...That sounds a little selfish to me...Most of you are out there spending hundreds on your kids for Christmas...Do they really appreciate it?..Why not show them what Chrsitmas is all about this year...Why not show them "what would Jesus do?" He would not be spending hundreds or thousands on Christmas while millions of children are dying.....Should Christmas not be about giving to those who are needy, feeding the hungry?

It is time that we stop spending all of our money on things of this world and start making a difference for the Kingdom....You can make a difference...You can CHANGE THE WORLD!!!!  At least for one child...and their family....

Do you think one life is not worth saving?.....Christ did....He said if there was only one person who needed salvation He would have came and died on that cross for the one...

We know by the story of the Good Samaritan that our neighbor is anyone in need...There is a need....Poverty is real....The need is now....

Please dont wait any longer....Children are dying every minute....Make a difference today...

I have child packets that are ready for sponsorship...or you can go to www.compassion.com for more info....

Is $32 a month really gonna break you up?....Most of us spend more than that on coffee at McD's in a month....

Are you ready to do something that is worth something?....Are you ready to build treasure up in Heaven instead of on this Earth....Are you ready to make a real difference in the Kingdom of God?....Then please sponsor a child today...

If you have any questions, please ask....

God bless,
Genean

Is one life worth saving???
Current mood: determined
Category: Life

30,000 children die every day from poverty related causes....many of these are from vaccine preventable diseases and sickness such as diarrhea...things that we think are minor are very major to the developing world...Should we just sit back in our comfy homes and driving our nice cars while thousands upon thousands are dying every single day from a lack of the most basic of needs?....Poverty is real...the time to act is now...

Compassion International believes that the most effective way to address poverty is through the education, training and discipleship of children. Childhood is the time when the most significant life changes can be made and positive patterns developed. Children are like wet cement that can be shaped and formed in these early years. As they grow, they "solidify" to become all God intended them to be.

In Matthew 19:13-14, little children were brought to Jesus, "… for him to place his hands on them and pray for them." The disciples rebuked the children for interrupting what they considered a serious discussion with their Master. But Jesus chastised the disciples saying,

"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

This verse shows the priority Jesus places on children. Not only does He order His disciples to make a way for the children, Jesus makes a distinct parallel between children and heaven.

Since 1952, the core of Compassion International's ministry has been to introduce children to Jesus Christ — to  provide them with hope. We believe that when Jesus said "Let the children come to me …" He knew that all we have to do is make a way. Children will naturally come to Jesus, if we don't hinder them.

The Bible is filled with stories about how God uses children; from a young boy who slew a giant named Goliath to a young man who shared his fish and bread with 5,000 hungry people. Children are a vital part of God's kingdom.

Many people believe children are our future. Compassion believes in the worth of children today. Today is the time to tell children about Jesus and start shaping their lives.

Distractions
Current mood: accomplished
Category: blessed Life

Distractions....aahhh life has so many....Have you ever heard the saying "If Satan can't make you bad, he'll make you busy?" I have distractions that keep me from growing closer to God, do you? Well, Satan can't make you busy but he can sure throw obstacles in your way. But we have to actually allow ourselves to get too busy for Jesus...

That has been a struggle of mine lately...Knowing that I need to pray more, study more, etc...Well, it seems like every time I try to do this, something gets in my way that makes me "busy".

Well, I'm not gonna take it any more...I am a child of the Most High and He is the creator of time...So how can I say that I don't have time when my father is the one who created it...

So back off Satan. In the words of the Blues Brothers "I'm on a mission from God" and I'm not letting that little snake beat me anymore...how about you? So the next time you feel too busy for God, just pray that He will help you prioritize your time better to suit His perfect Will....

Oh and since we are speaking of not having enough time...we can also remind Satan that his time is just about up...Amen

No room at the inn
Current mood: thankful
Category: Goals, Plans, Hopes

I have started reading a very inspiring book by Beth Moore. It's called Jesus, the One and Only. I encourage everyone to read this book.  I read a section of this book that tells of the night Christ was born and it got me to thinking.

When Mary and Joseph arrived in Bethlehem, there was no room for Mary to have the baby. The inn was full and so was everywhere else.

Isn't that what we do too? When our lives are so filled up with other things, we have no room left for Christ. We are consumed in things of this world and these things keep us busy so that we do not focus on Jesus. It can be many things, such as our jobs, TV, every day life, etc.

All I've heard from people at work and around town is they can't wait til Christmas is over because it's such a headache and so stressful, they just want it to be over with. It's all about presents. Parents rushing around, fighting crowds to get that perfect gift or gifts. We are making our kids greedy. Every year we are spending more and more and they are expecting more and more.

Is that going to be all of us this year? I hope not. This year let's all, myself included, make this Christmas about Christ. That's the best gift we can give our children is guiding them to Jesus Christ and their greatest gift to us is the day they accept Christ as their Savior. But we, as parents have to guide them toward Christ. It is our job as parents to show the love of Christ to our children.  Let's all make this Christmas about the gift Christ gave, not the gifts of this world.
