We have a couple of updates we wanted to let everyone know about....

First, Brian has a Christmas song on his album God, Guns & Money, so we decided it would be a good time to post it on the MySpace page. Not only THAT but it IS the season for giving, so we're offering if for free download! Now your Christmas tune collection will be complete!

Secondly, this month in Offbeat Magazine George has a feature story!! If you want to take a little trip into the mind of the man himself, check out the story online.

And finally, as you may have already heard... We are pleased to announce the Official Gov't Mule Aftershow Party Celebrating George Porter Jr's 60th Birthday. Performing will be Porter Batiste Stoltz and Friends. The show will take place on Saturday December 29th at the Blender Theatre at the Gramercy after the Gov't Mule show at the Beacon Theatre. Doors will open at midnight Saturday (technically Sunday morning) and the show will start at 1AM.
Tickets went onsale today at Ticketmaster!! Get them early! They will go fast!!

Performing Tonight with Mickey Hart!
Tonight, Wavy Gravy celebrates his 71st birthday by bringing out the stars for a SEVA benefit concert in San Francisco. Performing artists include Mickey Hart and Friends (featuring George Porter, Jr.), Chris Robinson (of the Black Crowes), Zero (with Steve Kimock and Melvin Seals), Tea Leaf Green, Sikiru Adepoju and surprise guests!
In addtion, a silent auction will be held at the event, including select items of rock and roll memorabilia, international art, signed photographs, fabulous vacations, concert tickets and more. Come help us party down!

New Album "It's Life" Now On Sale!
"It's Life" is the brand new studio album from George Porter, Jr. Boasting a backing band comprised of legendary New Orleans musicians, "It's Life" features seven never-before-heard original compositions, including the striking new song "Waterfall." These smooth sounds are featured alongside deep grooves like the Porter classic "All I Do Everyday," Curtis Mayfield's "Here But I'm Gone," and the Meters' "Out In The Country." A must have for any George fan!

Every year, OffBeat Magazine - New Orleans' only publication solely devoted to promoting Louisiana music - celebrates the Crescent City's unique musical culture by presenting the Best of The Beat Music Awards.
