Welcome to the United Socialist States of America....

I think it goes without saying that I am both shocked and disgusted by the outcome of Tuesday's Presidential election. I know by reading comments and status updates that I am not alone in this.

It is a sad commentary on the people of this country that so many could mistake articulate for intelligent and ready to lead. It is sad that so many could be swayed by hollow promises.

A intense hatred by the left wing of President Bush led to the defeat of John McCain. How pathetic so many people could not look at the facts and vote for the man based on those facts, rather than what they felt to be the failures of his predecessor.

The downward spiral toward socialism in this country has begun. For those of you who voted for McCain/Palin, you can take pride knowing you did the right thing. For those of you who didn't: enjoy the next four years of "CHANGE" because after Barack Obama and his congressional liberal buddies get done raping your paychecks to pay for their proposed trillions in new spending, that is all you'll have left.

Why I’m a Republican....

Let me begin by saying that I watch politics like most men watch sports. I yell, throw things, cuss, stomp my feet, and get downright pissed off. My boyfriend has already practically banned talk of politics while I am at his house, because I get so fired up. Politics is one of my passions, and while I know most of you will disagree, I feel as though it's borderline unpatriotic NOT to take an active interest.

Rather than list all of the reasons I despise Barack Obama and all of the reasons he and his party scare the hell out of me, I will spare you another one of my anti-liberal rants, and explain a few reasons exactly WHY I am a Republican.

We as Americans are being taxed to death in this country, and personally, I would kind of like to keep more of the money I earn. At the risk of sounding like a heartless bitch, I do not want my money going to welfare programs of any kind. Yes, I am fully aware that there are people less fortunate than me, but I am a firm believer that there is always room to succeed in this country. I don't have a job at the moment, and I am having a miserable time finding one, but do you see me asking for any sort of handout? No. I am milking my savings, and have made DRASTIC lifestyle changes. I no longer tan, shop every weekend, or go out all of the time. I have even had my phone turned off because it is, compared to the other things I have to buy an unnecessary expense at this point. This is not something I enjoy, but I am doing it. The part that disgusts me is that there are so many people out there who chose to go on welfare rather than suck it up and get a job at McDonald's. You do what you have to do to get by, and if you don't want to bother doing that, than I don't want to have any part in supporting your ass. Also pertaining to money, social security is a disaster. We are the ones who pay into it and we should have a say as to what we do with it or where that money goes.

I believe life begins at the moment of conception. Sorry if this offends anyone, but I do. I am adamantly opposed to abortion, and I do not want any of my tax dollars going to organizations like Planned Parenthood or any other organization that performs, advocates or condones abortion. I want to be assured that the candidate I chose to vote for in the Presidential election will only appoint Supreme Court justices that will push to overturn Roe v. Wade. Bare in mind, I do not judge anyone who has chosen to terminate a pregnancy, I just do not agree with it.

Global warming is not a big issue for me. That's not to say I don't think it exists, I just agree that it is inevitable, and we do not need to go over the top trying to stop it. I do not think it should be a political issue, and the government does not need to be involved in it. The way I see it, the whole "go green" movement is a fad. Much like the pogo balls and slap bracelets we just had to have when we were kids, it will eventually pass, and something else will be the cool thing to do.

Capital punishment isn't inhumane. I believe if you intentionally and maliciously take a life, you deserve the chair, lethal injection, firing squad, hanging, or whatever method of capital punishment your state chooses. The only disagreement I have with the death penalty is that we do not use it enough. I think it should be extended beyond first degree murder to include serious crimes committed against children as well.

I also believe that the Second Amendment needs to be protected by our federal government. While I do agree with background checks being required to purchase firearms, I also am a firm believer in conceal and carry laws. Furthermore, as an unmarried female who generally lives alone, I would like to have protection should someone break into my home intending to do me harm. The last thing I want is stricter gun control laws that may prevent such a thing. Guns don't kill people. People kill people.

Gay marriage is another issue. I am not opposed to it, I just don't believe the federal government should have any say in whether homosexual couples should marry. This is an issue that should be left up to the states to decide, and to regulate as they feel necessary. In fact, I truly feel that the federal government needs to be less involved in the lives of its citizens. We need to be more independent and self-efficient rather than depending on the government to help us out or bail us out anytime we have the slightest problem.

Now for the shocker: I am not an old, white-haired, rich man with a trophy wife and more money than I know what to do with. Nor am I a bible thumping, gun-toting, homophobic, redneck racist, as stereotypes of Republicans would lead you to believe.
It isn't fair to assume that's what makes a Republican, although I know many people buy into the whole stereotype. I like many of my fellow Republican friends and a female in my late 20's, not rich, redneck, or racist. I chose the party I did because they are more in sync with my beliefs, both moral and ethical. It astounds me that so many people align themselves with the left based on their stereotypes of the right. I encourage anyone who reads this to please, ignore the stereotyping and preconceived notions of left and right, and chose the one that's right for you.

Republican Convention Kicks Off With Little Fanfare, but Violent Protests
Current mood: amused

The Republican Convention kicked off today with little fanfare due to the threat of hurricane Gustav in the Gulf Coast. Instead of writing my own personal thoughts on the convention's first day, I decided to point out yet another stupid move by the extreme left. More specifically, I'm referring to those unwashed hippy wana-bes, the anti-war protestors who clearly have nothing better to do with their time. Go to the link below on foxnews.com and read what I am talking about. What kind of bunch of morons would protest a war by physically attacking people and setting fire to things? Doesn't this seem a bit counter productive? I don't even have to blog about the stupidity of liberals anymore, just read the news. Their actions speak louder than any words I could ever write!

For the Sake of the Republican Party....

The news came today that Mitt Romney is "Suspending" his campaign for the presidency. I asked my fellow Frustrated their opinions on this, and I'm a bit disappointed in the responses I received.

The overwhelming opinion was "If Romney's out, then so am I". I understand that McCain is a bit more liberal than any of us TRUE Republicans would like, but he is more than likely going to be our nominee. It is up to us to rally behind him for the sake of the Republican Party. Regardless of some of his more liberal views, core Republicna beliefs are still at the foundation of his platform. He is still a Republican, still a better choice than Obama or Crazy Ol' Mrs. Clinton, and we should do what we can to prevent having one of those two in the White House!
One point Romney made today was that the conservative/liberal issue could divide the party, and give the Democrats a better chance at victory. He is 100% right. It is best for us to rally behind our candidate, rather than fall victim to infighting like the kind that is going on in the Democratic Party right now. Besides, there is still the chance that McCain will choose a conservative running mate, so then what? Will those of you "If Romney's out, then I'm out" still be "out"? I am asking my fellow frustrated to do what is right. Let's make sure we put a Republican in the White House, instead of letting the Far Left destroy our country!

Terrorists Apparently Need Love Too!

My hiatus from the world of blogging is over, and I am ready to get back to changing the world, one liberal at a time!

I've received several emails in the past couple of weeks asking why I did not comment on Ahmadinejad's visit to Columbia University. I just assumed everyone know what I thought about it-come on folks, this one is a no-brainer!

The America haters in Iran spent that week laughing at us-at Bollinger (and rightfully so!), at New York, and at all of the unwashed liberals who came out in droves to support the dictator's speech. Mr. Ahmadinejad should have gone to New York, paid his little visit to the UN, then taken his Holocaust denying, terrorist ass directly back to the country he came from. I'm sure plenty of my readers will agree. I'm also sure many of you will agree that Columbia University President Lee Bollinger's invitation to Little Hitler was not only completely idiotic, but yet another example of how the disease of liberalism is spreading through our nation's college campuses like wildfire. If you're still skeptical, just take a look at all of the students who showed up to support Ahmadinejad's visit to the university. Those of you who think Bollinger somehow redeemed himself by referring to Ahmadinejad as a "petty and cruel dictator" and lambasting him for his views on the Holocaust, are mindless sheep; morons. Any reasonable person could see Bollinger's insult filled introduction of the Iranian President for exactly what it was: a great big load of CRAP. Bollinger spent the days leading up to Ahmadinejad's   visit to the university, defending his invitation and Ahmadinejad's "right" to speak there to every news media outlet that would listen. Last I recall, the First Amendment does not give the right to free speech to terrorists from foreign countries, but I digress. Bollinger was merely saving his own ass by pandering to angry protesters and to alumni of Columbia who threatened to cut off donations to the Univeristy because of him inviting Ahmadinejad to speak there. Unfortunately, Lee Bollinger won't be fired from his job from the university for inviting a terrorist loving anti-semite to speak there....or even for being a complete dumbass.

There you have it, fellow Republicans. I'm back.......

The Enemy at Home....
Current mood: frustrated

It's been a while since I have posted, but half the time I figure, "Why bother?" Nothing really changes-it's the same thing all of the time: liberals, in an attempt to live out some ridiculous hippie fantasy, hitting the streets to march and protest against the war in Iraq and even whinier liberals in Congress bashing our president while introducing (and passing) legislation that undermines or troops. However, Nancy Pelosi and her liberal cronies have really outdone themselves this time.

First, they passed legislation in the Senate requiring the withdrawal of troops to begin within 120 days, with completion of all combat operations in Iraq by March 31st, 2008. It doesn't take a genius to know that legislation of this kind is dangerous and will only embolden the enemy in Iraq. But then, who said anything about genius??? We are talking about Speaker Pelosi (wow, those words leave a bad taste in my mouth) and the reast of the liberal left.

The very next move in the left-wing's determination to make friends with the very terrorists who want to kill us was undertaken by Pelosi herself. Pelosi arrived in Syria this week on a her own little "peacemaking mission" to commence talks with top Syrian government officials on improving U.S.-Syrian relations, which have been on a very steady decline in recent years. The steady decline in U.S relations with Syria is not without ample reason, mind you. Syria is responsible for harboring terrorists fleeing capture from coalition forces in Iraq, and intelligence reports even suggest that Syria knowingly allowed members of Saddam Hussein's regime to hide WMDs in Iraq in the weeks preceeding the invasion of Iraq by American and allied forces on 2003. Additionally, Syria is responsible for funding two of the most dangerous terrorist groups in the world, Hezbollah and Hamas. It kind of makes you wonder why in the world Pelosi wants to sit down with leaders of this country for a little chat. Well, the reason is obvious; she, like her left-wing counterparts, will do absolutely anything to defy our president and the entire Bush administration. Rather than pay a visit it to our troops in Iraq, she chooses to canoodle with high-ranking terrorist supporting, America hating Syrian officials.

We must ask ourselves; what kind of message does this blatant disregard for the safety and morale of our troops and the outright defiance of our Commander-in-Chief send to our enemies overseas? The answer is clear: this behavior sends not just "mixed signals" like President Bush said earlier today, but it sends the message of the worst kind to our enemies. It says to them that not only do we have do we have a Congress that does not stand behind its President during wartime (or any other time for that matter) but is sends the message that these elected officials do not support out troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.  In times such as these, it is absolutely vital that we send the message to our enemies that we will not tolerate terrorism or threats of violence against our country and interests overseas. But what do we do when the enemy is at home, disguising themselves as "well-meaning" elected officials? Perhaps what the American people should be asking themselves is how these domestic enemies, members of Congress who seem to sympathize with Islamic fascist terrorists even got elected in the first place. The American voters really dropped the ball last mid-term election  and unfortunately, it is the American people and our troops overseas who will pay the ultimate price.

Liberal Misconceptions About Republicans

I'm fed up...or rather, FRUSTRATED. More and more lately, I've been hearing politically miseducated liberals spouting off their ridiculous misconceptions about republicans. They seem to be convinced for whatever reason that we are all a bunch of rich, racist, gay bashing, war mongers, and as a way of frightening others into being on their side, they go out of their way trying to convince anyone who will listen that this image of the republican party is actually fact. Why, to listen to a liberal  describe the typical republican, one would be led to believe that we hate blacks, homosexuals, atheists, and pretty much everyone but ourselves. Of course, to do this, we must take time out from being greedy, money hungry, SUV driving, environment killing religious nut jobs...wow...it's rather exhausting being a republican...at least if you look at us from a liberal's point of view.

Let me clarify to all of the misinformed liberals out there who we really are.

LIBERAL MISCONCEPTION #1: ALL REPUBLICANS ARE RICH

Now that I've recovered from laughing my ass off, I will address this, the most common misconception liberals have of republicans. I am a college student from a middle class family, with out of state tuition fees in excess of 30k a year. I work in a bar, and am up to my eye teeth in student loan debt. I am not by any means rich. Nor are the majority of my republican friends. I am a republican because the values and ideals if the republican party best reflect my own. It has nothing to do with how much money I or anyone else has. It has to do with the fact that I earn my money, and I do not wish to have my tax dollars go toward liberal social welfare programs. Call me crazy, but I work for what I have, and do not feel that the money I pay in taxes should simply be handed out to whomever claims to need it most.

LIBERAL MISCONCEPTION #2: WE DENY THE EXISTENCE OF GLOBAL WARMING AND DON'T CARE ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT

This afternoon, as I was driving down the road in my gas-guzzling SUV, spraying my hair with aerosol hairspray and throwing my styrofoam cup  out of my window, I thought about how silly those liberals are for believing in the existence of global warming...ok, not really. This may come as a shock to tree hugging liberals, but not all republicans drive SUVs! We do not deny that global warming exists, nor do we believe that it, like the internet, (haha) is something invented by al Gore. We simply do not feel it is a political issue. Enough said.

LIBERAL MISCONCEPTION #3: WE HATE GAYS

Since there are no gay republicans, right? Nevermind Mark Foley, or Minnesota state senator, Paul Koering. Liberals argue that the republican push to ban gay marriage is proof of a deep seeded hate for homosexuals. I personally, being agnostic and a bit more moderate on social issues, have no problem with gay marriage. Many conservative republicans however, corelate their religious and political beliefs, and therefore feel that marriage is meant to be a union between man and woman only. Is it right to base your political beliefs on your religious beliefs? It is only if your religion plays a big part in your life, and currently the majority of the republican party leans more toward the conservative side. Let me point out however, that at least, republicans are upfront about where they stand on the issue of gay marriage. Democrats however, often take a more hypocritical approach. Dan Savage, the openly gay "Savage Love" advice columnist, sent a campaign contribution to Senator Rick Santorum's opponent, democrat Bob Casey. His contribution was returned to him, with a letter explaining that having such a well-known, openly gay person's name on their contributor's list would give the Santorum campaign amunition in the up-coming election, and all in all, would be a black mark against the Casey campaign. Hmmmm.....Big champions of gay rights, those dems. "We want you to marry whomever you want, we just don't want your money". File that one under "How Liberals are Hypocrites Part I; You know how I know YOU'RE gay?".

*For further evidence that gay republicans do in fact exist, and that other members of their party do not hate them, check out the Gay Republicans group for "Gay men and women who do not define themselves by their sexualty. Who are anti-abortion, anti-gun control, anti-socialized medicine, pro-capitol punishment, pro-capitaism, promote states rights, smaller more local governments, lower taxes. True Republicans."  www.groups.myspace.com/gayrepublicans

LIBERAL MISCONCEPTION #4: WE HATE BLACK PEOPLE.

Kanye West himself summed up a liberals democrat's opinion of the Republican Party by his completely unneccessary opinion of President Bush during the Hurricane Katrina aftermath "George Bush doesn't care about black people."  Deep words from a hip hop musician. Such a scholar, that Kanye.  The fact is, the left has little to support their claims that republicans hate black people, their main arguement being that we want to eliminate affirmative action. For those of you who are confused as to what exactly affirmative action is, let me offer you this example: I apply to a prestigious university. I have excellent grades, sky-high test scores, and an all-around glowing academic record. A black student applies to the same school, and while he or she may have good grades and test scores, they are not quite as high as mine. End result: the black applicant gets accepted...I do not. Why? because affirmative action requires a quota. This form of "reverse" racism has gone on entirely too long. While it may have been practical in the 1960's it isn't today, and the system originally implemented to ensure that blacks would not be discriminated against or held down in the workplace or at school, has turned into an ugly form of racism that now only serves to hold whites back. Additionally, affirmative action serves no other purpose in today's society than to convince blacks and other minorities that they cannot do for themselves and must rely on programs like affirmative action to help them get ahead. For those liberals reading this still shaking their heads at my "racism", let me offer to you as an example: Alan Keyes. Are you ready for this? He is black AND a republican. Additionally, Mr. Keyes is one of the most outspoken conservatives on ending affirmative action. He too, feels that this out dated form of racism does little more that patronize blacks and other minorities and denies deserving people the opportunity to advance, reguardless of their race or gender. Of course, I need not mention Condi Rice and Colin Powell, I'm sure you get the picture. If you still need convincing that black republicans do exist, and that much like gay republicans, their party does not hate them, go to www.groups.myspace.com/msaar

www.groups.myspace.com/blackminds and

www.groups.myspace.com/BlackRepublicans.

LIBERAL MISCONCEPTION #5: WE ARE VICIOUS WAR MONGERS

Come on, nobody actually likes war. No normal, rational, sane person does anyway, which is why the liberal notion that republicans are war mongers who without provocation attacked Iraq and Afghanistan is absolutely ludicrous. WE were viciously attacked without provocation on September 11th. The terrorist attacks in New York and Washington D.C. were, by definition, acts of war, nothing less. The Muslim extremists declare war on the U.S. with every attack on our soil and on our interests in foreign countries. The fact of the matter is, we invaded Afghanistan to hunt for Osama Bin Laden, the most dangerous man in the world, and we invaded Iraq because Saddam Hussein harbored and funded terrorists and terrorist cells. Additionally, the Weapons of mass destruction did exist, this has been backed up by Hussein advisors who upon questioning admitted that the WMDs had been removed from Iraq and hidden in Syria. For those still in doubt, more than 500 WMDs were found buried in Iraq. Although they were slightly older and in a degraded state, the fact is that they at one point had the capability and the right components to qualify them as weapons of mass destruction. The war in Iraq has nothing to do with oil, as most liberals would have you believe, but is part of our efforts to restore peace and democracy to the Iraqi people and to preserve our safety here at home by preventing further terrorist attacks. We do not like war, but do see it as a neccessary evil, given the circumstances.

LIBERAL MISCONCEPTION #6: WE ARE ALL A BUNCH OF GUN-TOTING REDNECKS

Also, a completely laughable misconception far left has about those of us in the right. The Second Amendment gives us as U.S. citizens the right to bear arms, and while we can use shotguns to hunt game, we would also like to continue to have handguns to protect ourselves and our families from those who wish to trespass on our property and do us harm. It is instinct to protect our loved ones from danger, and if it takes a handgun to do it, then so be it. Of course, we could always sit down with the axe weilding psychopath and have U.N. style peacetalks, but somehow, I doubt that would be very effective. Take Note: Guns don't kill people, people kill people.

Yes, to hear liberals tell it, republicans are a vengeful, hateful bunch, when in reality; race, gender, or sexual orientation has nothing to do with who we are. We are a party based on morals and principle. We are against higher taxes, government funding of abortion clinics and liberal social welfare programs, we are anti-gun control, pro-capital punishment, we want less government and more personal responsibility. We do not encourage hate and we do not discriminate. I hope this has helped clear up any confusion about our party and who we are.

Claire McCaskill's (D-MO) First Item of Business....

For Missourians who haven't caught wind of newly elected Democrat Senator Claire McCaskill's first item of business, let me fill you in.

It seems that our new senator chose not to attend her Senate orientation so that she could go on vacation. That's right: VACATION. While other newly elected senators are learning the ropes of running their Congressional offices, Senator-elect McCaskill and her husband will be soaking up the sun in an undislosed location, which many believe to be Bali. McCaskill, who claimed to want to be a "Senator on our side" has blown off her first duties as a U.S. Senator to go on a vacation that many of her constituents could never afford to take.

Not only is she alienating voters in her state by doing this, she is disrespecting the position to which she was elected. All of this within her first week as Senator. So what lies ahead for the people of Missouri with McCaskill as their Senator? Only time will tell, but she isn't off to such a great start.

The Democrats' First Items of Business...

Well, the Democrats have had control of Congress for twelve days now, and surprisingly enough they have managed to take time out from gloating about their dreaded deafeat of the greater good to tackle their first few items of business....or rather their first steps at undermining our president, our values, and all that was right with this country.

First item of business: elect a new Speaker of the House, and what a shock (note the sarcasm) they chose Nancy Pelosi. I know that as good Republicans, your first instinct is to run screaming at very thought of Pelosi being the number one in the U.S House of Representatives, but be brave, fellow conservatives! (Or at least stick around until the end of this blog) Let's take a look at Pelosi's record:

September 2002- Pelosi voted NO on funding for healthcare providers who don't provide abortion services or abortion info.

February 2003- Pelosi votes NO on banning human cloning for reproduction and medical research.

October 2003-Voted NO on banning partial birth abortion except in cases where it may be critical to the survival of the mother.

February 2004-Voted NO on making it a crime to harm a  fetus during the commission of another crime.

Ok, ok...so now we know where Nancy Pelosi stands on abortion issues, but what about homeland security?

In July 2002, not even one year after 9/11, Pelosi voted NO to allowing commercial airline pilots to carry guns.

She also voted NO on setting federal driver's license guidelines that would hinder terrorists,  voted against the Patriot Act, and opposed the creation of the Department of Homeland Security. Shortly following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, she said that she did not feel our country was at war and during the recent mid-term elections, said homeland security should NOT be a campaign issue.

I could spend a good week listing Pelosi's shortcomings, but you get the picture. Nancy Pelosi, third in line to the presidency, supports abortion on demand, and does not feel our safety from terrorists is an issue. As expected, the democrats dropped the ball when naming this relatively far-left liberal to the position of Speaker of the House.

On to the democrats second item of business: electing a number two...Pelosi's right-hand man so to speak. Pelosi of course recommended John Murtha, the representative from Pennsylvania. For whatever reason, this former Marine has decided to turn his back on the military in this their most challenging time, not only denouncing their efforts in Iraq, but by becoming one of the most vocal advocates for "cut and run". For those of you living under a rock who don't know what "cut and run" is, simply put, it means we tuck our tails between our legs and pull out of Iraq IMMEDIATELY, rather than continue to fight for the rights and freedom of the Iraqi people and strive toward a resolution. Before you all run screaming for the hills, there is a light (albeit a dim one) at the end of the tunnel.....

In an unexpected move, the democrats REJECTED Murtha for the number two position in the House of Representatives, and opted to elect Maryland representative Steny Hoyer to the position. How the Dems done something right for once?? Possibly....

They pretty much humiliated Pelosi by defeating her first move as Speaker; rejecting her beloved Murtha, and in the process, electing a more moderate democrat to the position. He has voted against liberals like Murtha and Pelosi several times, even (GASP!) criticizing them for continuing to drive the wedge between the two parties, not being a radical outspoken critic of the war....and, are you sitting down??? NOT advocating cut and run as an "end" to the war in Iraq. Of course a democrat is still a democrat, but if we MUST have one in charge, I would certainly rather it be a moderate like Steny Hoyer over Ol' Jack "Cut and Run" Murtha anyday.

But what lies ahead in the remaining days of the democrats' stranglehold on congress?

We all fully expect the dems to push for an immediate end to the war in Iraq, veto any more tax cuts, and of course do everything intheir power to undermine our president, but to what extent? Although she initially supported the possibility of impeaching President Bush, she has since changed her mine (can we say flip-flop anyone?) but she does not rule out launching investigations into the handling of intelligence data prior to the war, and has even voiced her intent to investigate the energy task force established by President Bush during his first term. Yes, in yet another hypocritical move by the democrats, they are promising to work with republicans on the issues, while at the same time, promising to investigate and undermine the party, their ideals, and even the president himself.

Luckily, though, there is a bright side to this whole mess. The democrats will not be able to pass any legislation-or even bring it to the floor-without help from their sworn enemies the republicans. Without their help, dems won't have the needed 60 vites to break a fillibuster, and they cannot override a Bush veto or force him to accept their budget, so the good guys do still have some leverage against the democrats, albeit very little.

Unfortunately, the days ahead look pretty grim for those of us who know abortion is a moral wrong, raising taxes never did anyone any good, and who choose to support our troops, the war effort in Iraq, and our president. The best we can hope for is that democrats will wake up, and try to work with republicans to strengthen our economy, our military, our personal safety, and work toward the preserving the greater good.
