Vote Nader 2008
Current mood: amused
Category: News and Politics

I've been quiet about the election so far.  Which most of you will think is a good thing, because I can ramble on about such things.  Am I rambling right now?  I better get on with it.

So who are you going to vote for?  Obama?  McCain?  One lie is as good as the next, right?

Vote Obama for change?  What's Senator Obama going to change?  Have you looked at the man's voting record?  Do you know anything about him?  You know he's black.  You know he's a democrat.  You know he's against the war. You know he's for alternative energy.  Do you know anything else?

He will not change anything.  The man's voting record speaks for itself.  The simple fact that he voted for the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 Amendments Act of 2008 lost him all credibility in my eyes.  Here are some provisions that was added to the FISA bill.

  • Prohibits the individual states from investigating, sanctioning of, or requiring disclosure by complicit telecoms or other persons.
  • Permits the government not to keep records of searches, and destroy existing records.
  • Protects telecommunications companies from lawsuits for "'past or future cooperation' with federal law enforcement authorities and will assist the intelligence community in determining the plans of terrorists."
  • Removes requirements for detailed descriptions of the nature of information or property targeted by the surveillance.
  • Increased the time allowed for warrantless surveillance to continue from 48 hours to 7 days.
  • Allows the FISA court 30 days to review existing but expiring surveillance orders before renewing them.
  • Allows eavesdropping in emergencies without court approval, provided the government files required papers within a week.
  • Does that look like a government out of control?  It does to me.  Don't set there and say "It doesn't affect me." because some day it could.  Some day it will.  Our government is out of control and some one needs to take it back.  Obama is not that person.  Obama is not a savior.  Obama is a liar.

Now on to John McCain.  Senator McCain will be more of the same.  I could make an arguement the we are worse off with John McCain as president than with the current goofball.  We don't need "more of the same" and that is just what John McCain represents.

We need change.  Honest to god change.  That change isn't going to come in the form of a politician.

I urge anyone out there that cares about their country to vote for Ralph Nader in 2008.  Go to www.votenader.org and find out what this man is about.  Please do not write him off because he doesn't belong to the "big two".  Ralph Nader CAN be elected president.  It's just going to take enough people to stand up and vote.  I will be one of those people.

Here is a recent commercial for Ralph Nader.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=McMGtisOtoU

Ralph Nader is on the ballot here in Michigan.  He is running under the Michigan Natural Law Party.  I urge you to take a stand to big government and vote Nader in 2008.

    C.M. Punk
    Current mood: tired

I've been watching Raw again.  I am so glad that the WWE had the forsight to put the title on C.M. Punk.   Punk was amazing in RoH and continued his style of wrestling on ECW.  It was really cool that the WWE gave him the heavy weight championship.   I enjoyed watching Punks little back and forth with JBL just a moment ago.  The crowd didn't seem that into it at the beginning, but the more Punk talked the louder they cheered.  I hope that he beats JBL at Summerslam and continues his reign for sometime to come.

Anyone that's not familiar with Punk, you can get some videos of him in TNA when he was part of Ravens Gathering.  Also, check out his match with the amazing AJ Styles in RoH right before he left for WWE.

Lisa and I went to watch the UFC this past Saturday.  I choose all 6 winners after going 3-2 at the last UFC event.  Brock Lesnar proved he is for real.  He mauled and man handled Heath Herring for 3 rounds and won by decision.  In only his 3rd MMA fight, he beat not only a veteran of the sport but a great fighter as well.  We also got to witness Kenny Florian beat up on Roger Huerta.  We left after 2 rounds of the GSP fight, but GSP went on to win by decision over Fitch.

Any of you MMA fans out there check out GSP vs. Matt Serra 2 from UFC 83.  It's an amazing fight.

I hope all is well with everyone out there.  Until next time, have a great day!

    Wizard World Chicago
    Current mood: pirate
    Category: Blogging

A few weeks ago I went to Wizard World Chicago.  I took my friend Will from work and my son Isaac.  It was so much fun.  Very hot day, but very fun.

I met a bunch of people.  David Mack, Brian Bendis, Chuck Dixon, Sean McKeever, Marc Silvestri, and Peter David to name a few.  Oh and from across the pond, I met the mighty Warren Ellis.  Go to freakangels.com.  It's a weekly comic posted on the web for free by Mr. Ellis and the folks at Avatar Press.

A big thanks to Will for helping me wait in line for Alex Ross.  That took forever.  Bill bought a crap load of anime stuff and a huge Nerdotu poster.  Bill is an anime dork.  They're bottom feeders.  ;)

Isaac had a blast and met a much of people dressed as Stormtroopers and Boba Fett.  He found some limited edition Star Wars figure that I bought him and had a blast playing guitar hero.  He wore my Green Lantern tshirt and about 3 of the artists asked him about the shirt and one of them actually took a picture of the shirt because they'd never seen it before.

I also got to meet and talk to the old school wrestler, Virgil.  He talked to me a little bit about his times with the Million Dollar Man and Andre.  Met and talked to Mick Foley who is a super nice guy.  I witnessed Mick getting some shots in on Al Snow, who was also there. Kynt and Vyxsin from The Amazing Race were there.  I didn't know what to expect from them, but they were super nice and cool as well.

I liked the stories that the comic writers and artists told.  Shane Davis was cool and told me a story about a cover he had done for DCs Countdown.  About how he wanted to do like a National Lampoons type cover but I guess DC found it too risque.  I had Marc Silvestri autograph and 80's Uncanny X-Men that he did the art for.  It was kind of beat up from being read so much and he was diggin that.

I had Chuck Dixon autograph a Batgirl comic for my wife as she is a huge fan of Batgirl Year One.  I also met Arthur Suydam who does the cover art for Marvel Zombies.  I had him autograph a Wolverine cover, and Marvel Zombies 2 1.  I also had him autograph a picture he did of Nirvana's Nevermind CD.  It's of a zombie baby going after an ear on a hook.  Lisa likes the Marvel Zombies and is a huge fan of Nirvana.  She would have been pissed if I didn't get that for her. I love you, Lisa.

Well enough exictement for one day my friends.  See you all laters.

P.S. Ignore the date on the pictures.

    Sponge

Just giving people a heads up.  Sponge is playing at the Intersection tonight.  3 opening bands and doors open at 8, so if you can’t make it until later, it’s cool.  Only $10.  Sponge is a great band and I’ll cross my fingers that they play Speed Racer.

Huge thank you to Patrick Doyle who years and years ago (god am I old) took me to see Sponge for the first time.

    My Wife
    Current mood: sick

Just wanted to say that I am so proud of my wife, Lisa.  She recently went back to school to go into the medical field.  She works so hard.  Every time I even look at her medical terminology book, it makes my head hurt.  I can honestly say that my wife is my best friend.  Not a lot of people can say that, and I'm proud that I can.

I love you baby!  Keep up the hard work, it will all pay off in the end.

    Selling Yourself Short
    Category: Religion and Philosophy

Here is a bit of philosophy for you.

Don't sell yourself short, unless you're under 4'2" or you charge $300.

    Chew on that and choke.

Homework time!  Some of you might and some of you might not know about this.  For those of you who have never heard of the West Memphis Three, please go read up about it.  You can start by going to www.wm3.org.  No, they are not a band.

Speaking of bands, I went to see Marilyn Manson for the first time in 6 years, last night.  Good show.  DTE isn't a great venue to see a band at, but Manson seems to work well there.  He played Reflecting God which was a nice addition.  I don't agree with the choice to end the show on Beautiful People.  Then again, I'm not a multi-million dollar rockstar though.  What do I know?

I had a great time though.  So did everyone else within seeing distance of my wife dancing to Dope Show!  That was awesome.  I love you, Lisa!

Well I'm outta here, just wanted to drop in quickly and say hi.  Until next time my little rabbits.

    Gordzilla and the Infinite Madness
    Current mood: crazy
    Category: Games

Hello people!  How have all of you been?  Good, I'm glad to hear it.  Err.... read it.

First off let me say thank you to my mom.  Without my mom, my brother would be homeless right now.  Without my mom, I wouldn't have turned out the way I did.  (See all of this mom, it's your fault.)  I'm thankful to have a mother that cares about me, so many people don't and I appreciate it.  Anyone that has ever met my mother will tell you, she's the coolest mom on earth.  That, my friends, can't be disputed.

I haven't had much money to go to the movies.  I did get out to see Transformers, it was awesome.  When I was little, I always wanted there to be a live action Transformers movie.  I thought it would be the coolest thing ever.  It just so happens, it is.  An amazing movie.  If you're a fan of Transformers or Science Fiction in general, go see it.

Cyril, I recently asked Dave about his cat.  He had to put it to sleep about 5 years ago.  It was sick with some sort of tumor, he says she got it from eating paint.  Just thought I'd update you on that, seeing how you brought it up.

Well I went to Six Flags with Lisa (who is my lovely wife), Nick and Alicia.  For the most part it was fun.  For the most part that is.  Go to Alicia's site and read up about the bad stuff.  I just don't want to have to type it up, she did a good job of that.  I did get to meet the Flash and Robin.  That was awesome.  Riding Superman the ride was so much fun.

I also had a lot of fun listening to and singing along with some ghetto rap songs Alicia brought along.  I shocked myself with how many lyrics I knew!

Speaking of the Flash.  Bart Allen is dead.  Killed by his rogue's gallery.  Kind of bums me out, because I really liked Kid Flash and when Bart became the Flash, I thought it was his launching point as a main character.  Well, one year later he's dead.

This brings me to my next point.  How is Robin holding it all together?  Tim Drake has lost his father, Conner Kent (Super Boy) and Bart Allen (The Flash) all within a two year period.  Two best friends and a father.  If I lost that, I'd be pushed to my mental breaking point.  It would be awesome, if in the next 2 or 3 years, they gear Tim up to take over Bruce's place as Batman.

SINESTRO COPRS!?!?!  Sinestro has replicated his yellow ring.  He has given it out to a whole bunch of villians.  Included in that list is Superboy Prime and Cyborg Superman.  Wow!  Also, Kyle Rayner is now possessed by the fear demon Parallex and is a bad guy.  What is the Green Lantern Corp going to do?

There was a good two part story in Spiderman recently called The Last Temptation of Eddie Brock.  Brock, if you did not know, was the original Venom.  He discovered the symbiote was giving him cancer.  Eddie sold it to Max Gargan for millions, which he then in turn gave to charity to make up for all the bad things he's done.  After this, Eddie got worse from cancer and is now dying in a hospital.

The Last Temptation of Eddie Brock takes place in the hospital where Eddie is dying and so is Spidermans aunt May.  Eddie is having visions of Venom telling him to kill May.  Are they visions or is the symbiote back?  As Eddie struggles against if he should or should not kill Aunt May, Peter Parker shows up.  I will tell you this, you've never seen a confrontation between Parker and Brock like this.  It is a great story with a solid ending.  If you're a fan of Venom or Spiderman pick up these two issues of Spectacular Spiderman.

Works been going well.  Having people bitch at me all day is getting on my nerves though.  I think I'll try for another position, try to move up in the next 6 or 7 months.

My wife has been cooking the best home made meals lately.  Thank you, Lisa.

The new Heroclix set has come out.  It's titled, Avengers.  Has a lot of great Avenger characters in it and the new power cards really add another element to the game.  They also have new packaging and have brought back the giant figures.  I liked the Avengers set, but really it's just gotten me excited about the new DC set coming out.... JUSTICE LEAGUE!  This set will include the first ever heroclick of Guy Gardner.  (One of the many Green Lanterns, but a fan favorite because of his kick ass attitude.)

Nicholas is really into Power Rangers lately.  I'm killed multiply times a day by his Mystic Force Power sword.  I'm always the bad guy and I always lose.  Wait, that's just like the T.V. show damn it!

Lisa and I took Isaac and Nick to the fair.  We have a ton of pictures of them petting animals and acting like two little weirdo's.  Maybe I can get my sweetie to post some.

Well I have to go.  My life is very busy as I'm sure that your's is.  I'll keep in touch through blogs when I can.  Until next time, peace and love my friends.

I'm sorry, I had to edit this in.  Go to youtube.com and in the search enging type MadV The Message.  It's a really interesting and cool video that was done about a year ago, but I just discovered it lately.  I thought I'd pass that along.
