Goreboy Radio To Return In Late 2008!

Yep, your eyes aren't deceiving you! Goreboy Radio will be indeed be returning later this year with brand new shows and a kickass new website as well. After much soul searching I have decideed that a world without Goreboy is like a life without air! Okay, so I'm not *that* essential but I miss talking to all of you guys and with some changes in Goreboy's gory personal life coming along I felt that this was the perfect time to resurrect the beast before he dies for good.

So what can you expect from this new and improved Goreboy? Well, I won't tell you just yet! I'm still working on all of the details and I'll release a fully-loaded bulletin/blog soon that will contain all of the information you need to know about the new format. I can't give you a definitive date on when the show and website will be relaunched but you can expect new stuff to happen later this year. This time around I will be making a much bigger push to get Goreboy Radio out there. The show will also feature an entirely new format, although you can still expect some lovely horror chat in that time-honoured Goreboy Radio tradition!

Contrary to any previous statements I may have made, the Goreboy Radio website is still alive and kicking, as is the forum. Head on over there and say hello if you fancy it because we're back and we're bad! I'm honestly very excited about making all of this happen again and I think you'll get a big kick out of what's being planned. So until we speak again...you'll soon be listening to Goreboy Radio; re-loaded, re-jigged and re-fucking-essential!

Ah, yes! And so it ends. You can now stream or download Show 8 which is the very last edition of the Goreboy Radio weekly podcast. This show is just over fifty minutes and is a very special (and very loose!) edition, planned to see off the podcast in style.
If you've been keeping up with the latest Goreboy news, you'll know that I am relaunching Goreboy Radio in August under the new banner of Goreboy. com, with a brand new website that will feature audio movie reviews in separate, digestible pieces.
The website will be more community-based and a lot of fun to be a part of!

Thanks for the last eight weeks. If you've supported me and if you've listened to the show, I thank you! I've had fun doing the show, but it's time to give it a rest and work on a new concept and explore some new ideas.

Final Goreboy Radio Show Next Week!

Hey folks!

As you may have read if you have me added to Myspace, Goreboy Radio will shortly be changing direction. After six shows, I feel I've mined all the good stuff I can out of this kind of format and am seeking to try out new things within the Goreboy Radio brand that will take it to a new level. I was always considered a "late-comer" to this type of 'broadcasting', and it's true. There are plenty of podcasts that have been doing what I'm doing with the show. Some do it better, some do it worse. I have been fortunate enough to develop a nice little fanbase of people who enjoy listening to the show, and that has been motivation enough to carry on doing it for all these weeks.

Last week's Friday the 13th special was nearly three hours long. Many of the people who have heard it have considered it to be the best show I've ever done. Let me just say that the process involved in recording all of that material, then editing it down and layering music, trailers and breaks into everything was absolutely beyond laborious. I never thought it would be finished, and when it was finished I realised that I was very proud of the product but also very much fed up of spending so much time on it! I am not, however, fed up of talking about horror and this will continue; albeit in a very different way.

This week's edition of Goreboy Radio (June 20) is the penultimate show. Please do listen to this show because on it I explain exactly why I have decided to change direction here, and I will let you in on all the details of this change and when it will take place. You may then look forward to next week's edition (July 4) as it will be the final show in this style. That does NOT mean I'm going away! It also doesn't mean that Goreboy Radio is shutting up shop. It just means that you will no longer have a weekly 'radio show' to listen to, but you will have something else in its place in the near future that is very much audio-based and should satisfy fans of horror all the same. My voice will still be there, but so will a lot of other different things.

So listen out for this week's show. It's much shorter, but I hope you enjoy it and

Goreboy Radio - Revamped and Relaunched in July!

The format and feel of Goreboy Radio will be changing in the coming weeks to make way for an entirely different kind of experience for all of the listeners out there. With a huge upsurge in "radio shows" dressed up as podcasts, I feel it's time to branch out and explore other avenues of this type of recording while staying as true as possible to what the genre fans crave most when they check out the show.


At the moment I am still working out and finishing up all of the details that will help compose these changes, but I'd like to let you know that the "radio show" format you're used to hearing on Goreboy Radio will be abandoned entirely. The full details of just what will replace it will not be revealed just yet, but let me just say that it will be far more website-based and will feature a number of different ways that you can hear all sorts of different Goreboy-branded content. You'll still hear movie reviews and interviews - it will all just be available in a different form.


I have very much enjoyed putting together an action-packed radio show for you all from week to week, and will continue to do so for the next couple of weeks while I complete a new website design and a completely different kind of listener experience that will no longer be a "radio show" but will still feel true to all the genre fans out there that have stuck with me this long. You will, of course, hear much more information about these changes as and when they happen.


So, until then, look out this Friday for a new, shorter edition of Goreboy Radio and be prepared for a very bright and very different future!
