Club Dada show on Friday May 16th
Hello everyone,
my solo guitar thing at Hal Samples' SPACE seemed to go over alright. So I'm going to expand upon it further on Friday May 16th at Club Dada. My friend and fellow astronaut Duncan Black will be joining me on the drums. Some of you kids familiar with the art scene around town probably already know the mad Roy Ivy, of the Tah Dah's fame. He'll be doing a solo set around 8, then I'll come on and do my spacy guitar thing around 9, then Paul Slavens will finish the night.. Some of you older people might remember Paul from the Ten Hands days, although the man has always amazed me with his impromptu genius, all by himself. It will be an intimate evening and a musical meeting of the minds... There will also be an announcement of the winners of the Deep Ellum mural competition too. I'll start with the weirdy guitar bits and lunar atmospheres around 9, so get there in time to get a stool by the bar. Let's share a beer and a laff afterwards, while Mr. Slavens does it old school.
The cover is only $5.00, benefitting the Deep Ellum Association.
Still loving you all,
Mike G.

Graff guitar atmospheres Sunday at Hal Samples SPACE
Hello friends, This Sunday April 6th, the mad photographic genius known as Hal Samples will be throwing a party to celebrate the grand opening of his gallery space at 2814 Main St., between Crowdus and Malcom X in Deep Ellum. Above the street-level gallery is a natural-light studio which doubles as a yoga studio, that he calls "SPACE". Hal has asked me to come over and do my solo instrumental guitar thing as part of the musical mix. I’ll go on around 8 pm. Two other groups, Aton and The Black Angels (from Austin) will play afterwards. It’s a BYOB, pot luck, experimental "beat happening" kind of thing. I understand that the street will be blocked off for people attending the Deep Ellum arts festival, as well. I’ll show up with my Gibson and a 4-12 cab ready to make some atmospheric guitar noises. We might even turn on the smoke machine... Aton will follow with their assortment of horns and dub grooves, and The Black Angels will top the evening with their psychedelic projections and Mary Chain reverberations. It’s an all-ages party, but there will be folks at the door checking IDs and asking for a $20 donation to help defer party costs. Check out links:

Course Of Empire mp3’s available for download!
For friends and fans of Course Of Empire:
All three studio albums and the Infested! cd5 are presently available for download for free at www.courseofempire.com
At some point soon, we plan to get all the C.o.E. recordings up on itunes. When that happens, the free downloads will go away. In the meantime, we wanted to give our long-time friends and supporters a chance to load their ipods and computers up with the entire catalogue of the band's studio work.
We're calling it a thank you for all the continued support and kind words that we still receive from friends old and new.
Tell a friend, but let's keep it on the low, okay?
Love,
G
