Sderot, Gaza, Lebanon the violence doesn't stop

Ok, check it out. The Arabs are killing themselves. Fighting over power in Gaza and Lebanon. They don't seem to care about their own people while fighting in civilian areas. Don't seem to care about the death toll.

What unites them? Their hate for the Israelis. To be more specific- the air strikes in Gaza. Why air stikes you ask? Well remember the town of Sderot from some of my earlier blogs? You know, the one that has been under fire of kassam rockets lauched from Gaza for the past six years? Well in the past week alone hundreds of kassams hit the town. Homes ruined, dozens injured. Some hit a gas station and missed the tanks by a few meters, a school (while classes were going on) and more.  Thousands have left their homes.

I say- if they kill themselves and don't give a shit, why should I care about their casualties? I don't see them running to the UN to complain about 'war crimes'…

If  the south part of Israel is at threat and Sderot has turned into a ghost town- why shouldn't Gaza be?

WE PULLED OUT OF THEIR 2 YEARS AGO. SINCE THEN THE PALESTINIANS VOTED FOR THE HAMAS- THAT DOES NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THE STATE OF ISRAEL. LAST SUMMER HEZBOLLA- PART OF THE LEBANESE GOVERMENT (WE PULLED OUT OF THERE 7 YEARS AGO) KIDNAPPED ISRAELI SOLDIERS AND FIRED HUNDEREDS OF KATYUSHA ROCKETS ON NORTHERN ISRAEL.

SO WHAT TO DO?

Keep attacking the launchers, and homes with tunnels and 'kassam labs' from the air. Take back the control over Tzir Philadelfi (the border with Egypt) under the Palestinian Authority since the Pull-out from Gaza, used to smuggle weapons into Gaza through underground tunnels- until an International Force comes and takes over the border until we have peace.

Cause these people speak force.

And if the world boycotts us- SO BE IT. LET THEM TRY….

FOLLOWING A DECISION BY THE NATIONAL UNION OF
JOURNALISTS IN THE
UK ( A TRADE UNION) TO BOYCOTT
ISRAEL , MANY BRITISH JOURNALISTS ACROSS THE BOARD
RIDICULED THE DECISION, SOME EVEN CANCELLED
MEMBERSHIP, BUT BY FAR THE MOST INTERESTING ARTICLE TO
COME OUT OF ALL THIS IS THE ONE BELOW.

This was in The Daily Sport - British version of New York Post -The View from Here - read below......

Subject: If you're going to boycott
Israel - do it properly!

OK. So I understand that you are ticked off at
Israel, and in love with the Palestinians. That's fine with me, as long as you have truly weighed all the facts.(bs)

So, you want to boycott
Israel?????

I'll be sorry to miss you, but if you are doing it - do it properly. Let me help you.

Check all your medications. Make sure that you do not have tablets, drops lotions, etc., made by Abic or Teva. It may mean that you will suffer from colds and flu this winter but, hey, that's a small price for you to pay in your campaign against
Israel, isn't it?

While we are on the subject of your Israeli boycott, and the medical contributions to the world made by Israeli doctors and scientists, how about telling your pals to boycott the following.....

An Israeli company has developed a simple blood test that distinguishes between mild and more severe
cases of Multiple Sclerosis. So, if you know anyone suffering from MS, tell them to ignore the Israeli patent that may, more accurately, diagnose their symptoms.

An Israeli-made device helps restore the use of paralyzed hands. This device electrically stimulates the hand muscles, providing hope to millions of stroke sufferers and victims of spinal injuries. If you wish to remove this hope of a better quality of life to these people, go ahead and boycott
Israel.

Young children with breathing problems will soon be sleeping more soundly, thanks to a new Israeli device called the Child Hood. This innovation replaces the inhalation mask with an improved drug delivery system that provides relief for child and parent. Please tell anxious mothers that they shouldn't use this device because of your passionate cause.

These are just a few examples of how people have benefited medically from the Israeli know-how you wish to block. Boycotts often affect research.

A new research center in Israel hopes to throw light on brain disorders such as depression and Alzheimer's disease. The Joseph Sangol Neuroscience Cente r in the Sheba Medical Center at Tel HaShomer Hospital, aims to bring thousands of scientists and doctors to focus on brain research. A researcher at Israel's Ben Gurion University has succeeded in creating human monoclonal antibodies which can neutralize the highly contagious smallpox virus without inducing the dangerous side effects of the existing vaccine.

Two Israelis received the 2004 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. Doctors Ciechanover and Hershko's research and discovery of one of the human cells most important cyclical processes will lead the way to DNA repair, control of newly produced proteins, and immune defense systems.

The Movement Disorder Surgery program at
Israel 's Hadassah Medical Center has successfully eliminated the physical manifestations of Parkinson's disease in a select group of patients with a deep brain stimulation technique.

For women who undergo hysterectomies each year for the treatment of uterine fibroids, the development in
Israel of the Ex Ablate 2000 System is a welcome breakthrough, offering a noninvasive alternative to surgery.

Israel is developing a nose drop that will provide a five year flu vaccine.

These are just a few of the projects that you can help stop with your Israeli boycott. But let's not get too obsessed with my ducal research, there are other ways you can make a personal sacrifice with your anti-Israel boycott.

Most of Windows operating systems were developed by Microsoft-Israel. So, set a personal example. Throw away your computer! Computers should have a sign attached saying Israel Inside. The Pentium NMX Chip technology was designed at Intel in
Israel. Both the Pentium 4 microprocessor and the Centrum processor were entirely designed, developed, and produced in Israel.

Voice mail technology was developed in
Israel. The technology for the AOL Instant Messenger ICQ was developed in 1996 in Israel< ST1:PLACE> by four young Israeli whiz kids.

Both Microsoft and Cisco built their only R. & D. facilities outside the
US in Israel.

So, due to your complete boycott of anything Israeli, you can now have poor health and no computer.

But your bad news does not end there. Get rid of your cellular phone. Cell phone technology was also developed in
Israel by MOTOROLA which has its biggest development center in Israel. Most of the latest technology in your mobile phone was developed by Israeli scientists.

Feeling unsettled? You should be. Part of your personal security rests with Israeli inventiveness, borne out of our urgent necessity to protect and defend our lives from the terrorists you support.

A phone can remotely activate a bomb, or be used for tactical communications by terrorists, bank robbers, or hostage-takers. It is vital that official security and law enforcement authorities have access to cellular jamming and detection solutions.

Enter
Israel's Net line Communications Technologies with their security expertise to help the fight against terror.

SO ALL THE NOISE ABOUT THE
USA LISTENING TO OUR PRIVATE TELEPHONE CALLS, YOU SHOULD KNOW IT IS ISRAEL WHO IS DOING THE LISTENING FOR US.

A joint, nonprofit, venture between
Israel and Maryland will result in a 5 day Business Development and Planning Conference next March. Elected Israeli companies will partner with Maryland firms to provide innovation to the US need for homeland security.

I also want you to know that
Israel has the highest ratio of university degrees to the population in the world.

Israel produces more scientific papers per capita - 109 per 10,000 - than any other nation.

Israel has the highest number of startup companies per rata. In absolute terms, the highest number, except the US., Israel has a ratio of patents filed.

Israel has the highest concentration of hi-tech companies outside of Silicon Valley. Israel is ranked #2 in the world for venture capital funds, behind the USA.

Israel has more museums per capita.

Israel has the second highest publication of new books per capita.

Relative to population,
Israel is the largest immigrant absorbing nation on earth.

These immigrants come in search of democracy, religious freedom or expression, economic opportunity,
and quality of life.

Believe it or not,
Israel is the only country in the world which had a net gain in the number of trees last year.

Even Warren Buffet of Berkshire-Hathaway fame has just invested millions with Israeli Companies.

So, you can vilify and demonize the State of Israel. You can continue your silly boycott, if you wish. But I wish you would consider the consequences, and the truth.

Think of the massive contribution that
Israel is giving to the world, including the Palestinians - and to you - in science, medicine, communications, security.

Pro rata for population,
Israel is making a greater contribution than any other nation on earth.

Pass this on to everyone you know, whether pro-Israel or not..................

Thanks

Full Story

Hundreds of mourners accompanied Librescu to his final resting place.

Among those who came to pay their respects was the head of Jewish Agency Zeev Bielski who was also the former Mayor of Ra'anana, the Romanian consulate general, friends, relatives and media from all over the world.

Shmulik Moyal, a neighbor and friend of Professor Librescu for twenty years, spoke of how one can never know how life will turn out. "After the professor survived the Holocaust and Nicolae Ceausescu's regime in Romania, he ended up being shot in Virginia."

"He died in the place he most loved; he stopped the killer with his own body so that students could live," Moyal said.

'Never gave up on his dream'

Choked by tears, the professor's wife, Marilena, thanked her husband for the two sons he gave her, saying that she hoped he would look after them from above.

The professor's two sons, Joe and Arieh, eulogized their father in Romanian, English and Hebrew, saying that their father had always taught them to be good people, but he never taught them how to become heroes.

In his Eulogy Bielski said that it seems that the way Librescu met his death reflects more than anything his personal life story.

"As a Holocaust survivor he managed to rehabilitate his life, to raise a warm and loving family with his wife Marilena who had also been through the Holocaust," said Bielski.

"He managed to struggle to come to Israel and not give up on his dream of living a meaningful Jewish life; to realize his dream and to come to Israel in 1978 thanks to the personal intervention of Menachem Begin with Romania's leader at the time Ceausescu; to become part of the academic world in Israel; to teach and to make important achievements as a researcher and a scientist at the Technion, the Tel Aviv University and later at Virginia Tech, where he lectured and researched during the past 20 years."

Gheorghe Angelescu, adviser to the president of Romania, presented Marlena Librescu with the Star of Romania of the rank of Grand Cross - the country's highest civilian honor, which was previously granted to the prime ministers of France and Italy.

Among the Chabad representatives present was Rabbi Motti Seligson, who told how they had taken care of the burial arrangements, and accompanied the family with the coffin on their way back to Israel.

Seligson said that the professor's wife had asked Chabad to organize the lighting of Shabbat candles at the university campus in memory of her husband, who cherished this tradition.

Soldiers coming home
Category: Life

This was posted in a bulletin by my friend Lalu:

----------------- Original Message -----------------
From:
Patrick

One of my sons serves in the military. He is still stateside, here in California He called me yesterday to let me know how warm and welcoming people were to him, and his troops, everywhere he
goes, telling me how people shake their hands, and thank them for being willing to serve, and fight, for not only our own freedoms but so that others may have them also.

But he also told me about an incident in the grocery store he stopped at yesterday, on his way home from the base. He said that ahead of several people in front of him stood a woman dressed in a burkha. He said when she got to the cashier she loudly remarked about the U.S. flag lapel pin the cashier wore on her smock. The cashier reached up and touched the pin, and said proudly," Yes, I always wear it and probably always will."

The woman in the burkha then asked the cashier when she was going to stop bombing her countrymen, explaining that she was Iraqi.

A gentleman standing behind my son stepped forward, putting his arm around my son's shoulders, and nodding towards my son, said in a calm and gentle voice to the Iraqi woman:

"Lady, hundreds of thousands of men and women like this
young man have fought and died so that YOU could stand here, in MY country and accuse a check-out cashier of bombing YOUR countrymen. It is my belief that had you been this outspoken in YOUR own country, we wouldn't need to be there today.

But, hey, if you have now learned how to speak out so loudly and clearly, I'll gladly buy you a ticket and pay your way back to Iraq so you can straighten out the mess in YOUR country that you are obviously here in MY country to avoid."

Everyone within his hearing distance cheered!

It made me think about my own country and the war we are fighting for our right to have our own country, a place for Jews to be free as Jews.

It made me think about how the Arab world blames us for everything, while history shows that more Arabs have been killed by Arabs than by Israelis, yet all guns and cannons are pointed in our direction. (JUST LIKE PEOPLE TO BLAME OTHERS INSTEAD OF TAKING RESPONSIBILTY FOR THEIR ACTIONS...most people do that...)

Palestinians and those that support them should blame their own leaders and their people's actions, question the fact that one side calls for peace, while the other keeps bombimg and killing the innocent and unarmed.

I ask you this-

Why is the "underdog" the nation that chooses killing and violence over peace?

Why do people defend such acts of animals as "self defense"? In what way exactly were victims of suicide bomb attacks trying to harm them? By going to the mall? To a restaurant? Or maybe standing in line at a night club threatened them?

Why do parents send their kids to the streets with guns and grenades? Don't they love them? Care about them?

Why do they celebrate when they succeed to kill others? What makes a human being parade around town with a human head?

And why on earth is Israel condemned for fighting against such acts? Why do people blame the victims?

If you ask me the world is full of idiots. Why? Easy. The Arab world thinks they can beat us. Think their dream of of a Middle East without Israel is within reach. Think again. There is a reason my country has the strongest army in the world. The best intelligence by far ( I travel a lot and 'airport security' in any other country makes me laugh...anything but "El-Al" is a f***ing joke). Most of the worlds technology was invented here. We have bought American army vehicles, improved them and sold them back to the US... (thats the jewish mind for you...a surviors mind...) I can go on and on. MY POINT IS that Israelis are survivors. People with no choice, a nation built after an attempt to exterminate the Jewish race,WITH 2000 YEARS OF SURVIVAL. Do the Arabs really think they can beat that? We don't need to use our full power, knowing its there is enough. Bullying someone that is clearly stronger than you is plain stupid.

Many years ago a Sting wrote a song about the Russians vrs. Americans,  it talked about the similarity in biology-yet difference of ideology. His hope was that the russians love their children too. I SURE AS HELL HOPE THE ARABS DO.

Israel will be wiped out
Current mood: crappy
Category: News and Politics

--> -->--> -->By ALI AKBAR DAREINI, Associated Press Writer 33 minutes ago

TEHRAN, Iran -

Iran's hard-line president said Tuesday that Israel will one day be "wiped out" as the Soviet Union was, drawing applause from participants in a conference casting doubt on the Holocaust.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's comments were likely to further fuel the outcry prompted by the two-day gathering, which has gathered some of Europe's and the United States' best-known Holocaust deniers.

Anger over the conference could further isolate Iran as the West considers sanctions in the standoff over Tehran's nuclear program.

But Ahmadinejad appeared to revel in his meeting Tuesday with conference delegates, shaking hands with American participants and sitting near six anti-Israel Jewish participants, dressed in black ultra-Orthodox coats and hats.

"The Zionist regime will be wiped out soon the same way the Soviet Union was, and humanity will achieve freedom," Ahmadinejad said during Tuesday's meeting in his offices, according to the official IRNA news agency.

He called for elections among "Jews, Christians and Muslims so the population of Palestine can select their government and destiny for themselves in a democratic manner."

Ahmadinejad has used anti-Israeli rhetoric and cast doubt on the Holocaust to rally anti-Western supporters at home and abroad, particularly in Asia and the Middle East. Several times he has referred to the Holocaust as a "myth" used to impose the state of Israel on the Arab world.

"The Holocaust is the device used as the pillar of Zionist imperialism, Zionist aggression, Zionist terror and Zionist murder," David Duke, a former Ku Klux Klan leader and former state representative in Louisiana, told The Associated Press.

Ahmadinejad announced the conference would set up a "fact-finding commission" to determine whether the Holocaust happened or not. The commission will "help end a 60-year-old dispute," he said.

The Tehran conference was touted by participants and organizers as an exercise in academic freedom and a chance to openly consider whether 6 million Jews really died in the Holocaust, away from Western taboos and the restrictions imposed on scholars in Europe, where some countries have made it a crime to deny the Nazi genocide during World War II.

It gathered 67 writers and researchers from 30 countries, most of whom argue that either the Holocaust did not happen or that it was vastly exaggerated. Many have been jailed or fined in France, Germany or Austria, where it is illegal to deny the Holocaust.

Participants milled around a model of the Auschwitz concentration camp brought by one speaker, Australian Frederick Toben, who uses the mock-up in lectures contending that the camp was too small to kill mass numbers of Jews. More than 1 million people are estimated to have been killed there.

Rabbi Moshe David Weiss, one of six members attending from the group Jews United Against Zionism, told delegates, "We don't want to deny the killing of Jews in World War II, but Zionists have given much higher figures for how many people were killed."

"They have used the Holocaust as a device to justify their oppression," he said. His group rejects the creation of Israel on the grounds that it violates Jewish religious law.

British Prime Minister Tony Blair said Tuesday that the conference was "shocking beyond belief" and "a symbol of sectarianism and hatred."

In Washington, the White House condemned Iran for convening a conference it called "an affront to the entire civilized world."

But will anybody DO anything about it?...

weapons of mass destruction
Category: News and Politics

Some people think I'm crazy for even trying, others don't understand why I care, or how I have the patience to even talk to certain people or argue with them.

I don't see any other way. Making a difference is all about AWARENESS.

SO HERE IS SOME MORE INFO, AND A SONG...

The Palestinians called for a cease-fire, yet rockets STILL fall down on Israeli towns every day.

All of you that think Israel has created the hate against her- Do you believe yourself? Excuse me but what exactly was the Holocoust?

 WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION/ FAITHLESS

Whether long range weapon or suicide bomber

Wicked mind is a weapon of mass destruction

Whether you're soar away sun or BBC1

Misinformation is a weapon of mass destruction

You could be a Caucasian or a poor Asian

Racism is a weapon of mass destruction

Whether inflation or globalization

Fear is a weapon of mass destruction

My dad came into my room holding his hat
I knew he was leaving,
he sat on my bed told me some facts, son.
I have a duty, calling on me
You and your sister be brave my little soldier
And don't forget all I told ya
You're the mister of the house now remember this
And when you wake up in the morning give ya momma a kiss
Then I had to say goodbye

In the morning woke momma with a kiss on each eyelid,
Even though I'm only a kid
Certain things can't be hid
Momma grabbed me
Held me like I was made of gold
But left her inner stories untold
I said, momma it will be alright
When daddy comes home, tonight

Whether long range weapon or suicide bomber

Wicked mind is a weapon of mass destruction

Whether you're soar away sun or BBC1

Misinformation is a weapon of mass destruction

You could be a Caucasian or a poor Asian

Racism is a weapon of mass destruction

Whether inflation or globalization

Fear is a weapon of mass destruction

Whether Halliburton or Enron or anyone

Greed is a weapon of mass destruction

We need to find courage, overcome

Inaction is a weapon of mass destruction

Inaction is a weapon of mass destruction

Inaction is a weapon of mass destruction

The skin under my chin
is exploding, again.
I'm getting stress from some other children.
I'm holding it in, we taking sides, like a politian
an if I get friction we get to fightin.
I defend my dad he's the best of all men
and whatever he's doin he's doin the right thing.
Its frightenin' but it makes me mad, why do all
of these people seem to hate my dad?
And if that ain't enough, now I've got these spots.
I go to sleep every night with my stomach in knots.
and whats more I can hear Mama next door
explore the radio for reports of war.
and all we ever seem to do is hide the tears,
seems Daddy been gone for years.
But he was right, now I'm geared up for the fight
an he would be proud of me if Daddy came home tonight.

[CHORUS]

My story stops here, lets be clear
This scenario is happening everywhere
And you ain't going to nirvana or farvana
You're coming right back here to live out your karma
With even more drama than previously, seriously
Just how many centuries have we been
waiting for someone else to make us free
And we refuse to see
That people overseas suffer just like we
Bad leadership and ego's unfettered and free
Who feed on the people they're supposed to lead
I don't need good people to pray and wait
For the lord to make it all straight
There's only now, do it right.
Cos I don't want your daddy, leaving home tonight

[CHORUS]

F**K OFF WORLD
Current mood: angry
Category: News and Politics

Hello everyone....Haven't had the time to write for a while cause I am now a second year film student at Tel- Aviv Uni.

But things have gone to far and everything else in my life is going to have to wait....

The whole world is against Israel. UN Security Council (yeah right...) wants to condemn Israel, human rights orgs do the same.

EXCUSE ME WORLD, BUT -

The 3 kidnapped soldiers have not returned yet, nor has there been any sign that they are even alive.

Rockets fall down on Israeli towns in the south EVERY SINGLE DAY.

The Palestinian goverment has said LOUD AND CLEAR that they do not recognise the state of Israel, and a 2-state solution is out of the question- they want us all gone (and they are supported by Iran, Syria, Lebanon and the rest of the world that doesn't give a shit.)

Leave us the F**K  alone and take care of the nuclear threat by Iran and Korea, stop supporting a nation that does not want peace, and FIGHT AGAINST TERROR- NOT THE VICTIMS OF IT.

I wanna see any given country in the world deal with what Israel deals with, as if you all would let people bomb your cities, send suicide bombers in the name of "Allah" , and do nothing about it.

And yes civilians get killed sometimes- thats war.

As long as there is NO peace process (and according to their own statement there won't be) Israel has NO choice.(and still to this day- in any military situation Israel chooses a way that puts its own soldiers at a bigger  risk,in order to minimize civilian casualties on the other side, while the other side looks for as many Israeli casulties as possible, and a "success" is celebrated all over the Arab world. In my country, we have commitees that investigate the cause such casulties, there are demonstrations, by blind Israelis, calling for peace (again, you can't have peace with people that don't want it). That NEVER  happens in the Arab world.

So all you twats that have no idea what you are talking about,  you have NO right to judge and criticize a country and a situation you can't even imagine in your worst nightmeres.

ISRAEL IS NOTHING BUT A SHITTY LITTLE COUNTRY
Category: Life

SHITTY LITTLE COUNTRY

The Middle East has been growing date palms for centuries.  The average tree is about 18-20 feet tall and yields about 38 pounds of dates a year.

Israeli date trees are now yielding 400 pounds/year and are short enough to be harvested from the ground or a short ladder .

Israel the 100th smallest country, with less than 1/1000th of the world's population, can lay claim to the following: The cell phone was developed in Israel by Israelis working in the Israeli branch of Motorola, which has its largest development center in Israel .

Most of the Windows NT and XP operating systems were developed by Microsoft-Israel.

The Pentium MMX Chip technology was designed in Israel at Intel.

Both the Pentium-4 microprocessor and the Centrino processor were entirely designed, developed and produced in Israel.

The Pentium microprocessor in your computer was most likely made in Israel.

Voice mail technology was developed in Israel.

Both Microsoft and Cisco built their only R&D facilities outside the US in Israel.

The technology for the AOL Instant Messenger ICQ was developed in 1996 by four young Israelis.

Israel has the fourth largest air force in the world (after the U.S, Russia and China).  In addition to a large variety of other aircraft, Israel's air force has an aerial arsenal of over 250 F-16's. This is the largest fleet of F-16 aircraft outside of the U. S.

Israel's $100 billion economy is larger than all of its immediate neighbors combined.

Israel has the highest percentage in the world of home computers per capita.

According to industry officials, Israel designed the airline industry's most impenetrable flight security.  US officials now look (finally) to Israel for advice on how to handle airborne security threats.

Israel has the highest ratio of university degrees to the population in the world.

Israel produces more scientific papers per capita than any other nation by a large margin - 109 per 10,000 people -- as well as one of the highest per capita rates of patents filed.

In proportion to its population, Israel has the largest number of startup companies in the world.  In absolute terms, Israel has the largest number of startup companies than any other country in the world, except the U.S. (3,500 companies mostly in hi-tech).

With more than 3,000 high-tech companies and startups, Israel has the highest concentration of hi-tech companies in the world -- apart from the Silicon Valley, U.S.

Israel is ranked #2 in the world for venture capital funds right behind the U.S.

Outside the United States and Canada, Israel has the largest number of NASDAQ listed companies.

Israel has the highest average living standards in the Middle East.

The per capita income in Israel in 2000 was over $17,500, exceeding that of the UK.

On a per capita basis, Israel has the largest number of biotech startups.

Twenty-four per cent of Israel's workforce holds university degrees, ranking third in the industrialized world, after the United States and Holland and 12 per cent hold advanced degrees.

Israel is the only liberal democracy in the Middle East.

In 1984 and 1991, Israel airlifted a total of 22,000 Ethiopian Jews (Operation Solomon and Moses) at Risk in Ethiopia, to safety in Israel.

When Golda Meir was elected Prime Minister of Israel in 1969, she became the world's second elected female leader in modern times.

When the U. S. Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya was bombed in 1998, Israeli rescue teams were on the scene within a day -- and saved three victims from the rubble.

Israel has the third highest rate of entrepreneurship -- and the highest rate among women and among people over 55 - in the world.

Relative to its population, Israel is the largest immigrant-absorbing nation on earth.  Immigrants come in search of democracy, religious freedom, and economic opportunity.  (Hundreds of thousands from the former Soviet Union)

Israel was the first nation in the world to adopt the Kimberly process, an international standard that certifies diamonds as "conflict free."

Israel has the world's second highest per capita of new books.

Israel is the only country in the world that entered the 21st century with a net gain in its number of trees, made more remarkable because this was achieved in an area considered mainly desert.

Israel has more museums per capita than any other country.

Medicine... Israeli scientists developed the first fully computerized, no-radiation, diagnostic instrumentation for breast cancer.

An Israeli company developed a computerized system for ensuring proper administration of medications, thus removing human error from medical treatment. Every year in U. S. hospitals 7,000 patients die from treatment mistakes.

Israel's Given Imaging developed the first ingestible video camera, so small it fits inside a pill.  Used to view the small intestine from the inside, cancer and digestive disorders .

Researchers in Israel developed a new device that directly helps the heart pump blood, an innovation with the potential to save lives among those with heart failure. The new device is synchronized with the camera helps doctors diagnose heart's mechanical operations through a sophisticated system of sensors.

Israel leads the world in the number of scientists and technicians in the workforce, with 145 per 10,000, as opposed to 85 in the U. S., over 70 in Japan, and less than 60 in Germany.  With over 25% of its work force employed in technical professions.  Israel places first in this category as well.

A new acne treatment developed in Israel, the Clear Light device, produces a high-intensity, ultraviolet-light-free, narrow-band blue light that causes acne bacteria to self-destruct -- all without damaging surrounding skin or tissue.

An Israeli company was the first to develop and install a large-scale solar-powered and fully functional electricity generating plant, in southern California's Mojave desert.

All the above while engaged in regular wars with an implacable enemy that seeks its destruction, and an economy continuously under strain by having to spend more per capita on its own protection than any other county on earth.

My Immortal
Category: Life

A friend of mine was over here for a wedding last week. He organized for him and others to join a day trip with a group of Americans (jewish and non-jewish) that came on a Friends of the IDF mission. I asked if I could join them.

We drove up north and started the day with a bit of sight-seeing. I was a bit bored and felt as if I went back in time to a school trip I could understand how excited they all were, but I had seen it all. We drove around Kiryat Shmona and they all got off the bus to take pictures of a home ruined by Katyusha rockets, and tanks along the roads. They couldnt believe how close Lebanon and Syria were- just on the other side of the fence

We then went to visit a few Army bases in the area, well war bases, meaning tents and tanks and stuff on the roads by the border, that in usual days do not exist. The group had a chance to talk to the soldiers and everyone could not believe how young they all were (the non-Israelis in the group of course). They heard the stories of combat, losing friends (some of then were in Gilad Shalits brigade and were pulled out of Gaza to go up north), some lived in the northern cities and were fighting to defend their home towns from Hezbollah rockets pouring down every single day. Everyone went to take pictures of tanks while I stayed to talk to the soldiers. They were so sweet and they all reminded me of my brother. Before we left for another base they gave me the remains of a Katyusha and signed it and thanked us all for coming. Back on the bus I could see a lot of people were touched and a bit shaken up, some felt guilty that others were the ones fighting and paying the price defending their Mother-land. I tried to explain to them that it means so much to those kids that they were there supporting them and saying thank you.

The second base was right on the border, where all the reporters would stand showing the world what was going on from the Israeli side. Once again we listened to their stories. A few people stood up and thanked them. The group donated 7,000$ to the Golani brigade (for them to choose what recreational facilities they needed/wanted). They asked the soldiers to sing Hatikva (The Hope- Israels national anthem) with the rest of us. It was quite surreal. The boys of Golani prepared to back into Lebanon, and we went to visit their friends at Rambam Hospital in Haifa.

Rambam wasnt easy. I served as translator for the group I was assigned to. That kept me sane and strong while visiting the wounded reserve soldiers. But each time I left a room I couldnt help crying. I cried for them, for their families, for my country, but most of all for my brother who once laid on such a bed, had visited his friends and has horrible memories and friends he lost in the Gaza strip. Every generation in this country grows up with the hope that they wont have to serve, and true belief that their children wont have to. Generation after generation and nothing has changed.

When we left I thanked the group, and told them I wish more people would do the same as them, because it does make a difference.

I got home and turned my stereo on. A familiar song was on but what was once a love song to me seemed like something else:

 My Immortal/ Evanesence

"I'm so tired of being here...

...Your presence still lingers here

and it wont leave me alone.

These wounds dont seem to heal.

This pain is just too real.

Theres just too much that time cannot erase.

When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears,

When you screamed I'd fight away all of your fears

And Ive held your hand through all of these years...

...Your face it haunts my once pleasant dreams,

your voice it chased away the sanity in me...

...These wounds dont seem to heal.

This pain is just too real.

Theres just too much that time cannot erase...

...You're still with me."

This is what I wrote to a "friend" who said she is now "defriending" me (jesus, how 6th grade) because  she doesn't appreciate my bulletins especially since I never comment on hers

Defriend me if you want.

If you want to know "who I am" you could ask politely instead of assuming " I think I am a celeb or something".

Shame you never bothered to read or reply to any of my other bulletins, you know the ones that try to get peoples attention on a WAR thats going on far far away from you. I thought doing what I can for my country was actually a good thing and apparently so do others Israeli and non Israeli.

I suggest you browse my site a little or at least you should have before writing this message.

Hope ur feeling better...

B

This is most of her reply and what she thinks about Israel and the Middle East (I decided she's not worth replying to so I added things I would have):

It's enough that a big junk of my taxes goes to help countries like yours populated with people who continue to MAKE CHOICES and then complain of the state of their homeland. There is no reason that people or groups or countries fight other than CHOICE.
yeah as if we have a choice

So sorry to waste your taxes you still pay less then I do, cause your country is not in any kind of immediate danger.

This isn't my problem. I dont come on myspace to get lectured (which you do with your blogs) and to get lashed out to. My life is hard enough. You clearly either have no idea how you come across or you actually think you are entitled to do so.

How hard is your life? Have you ever worn a gas mask? Seen one?

I own one.Its new. In a box. Cause I already used the first one in 1991, hiding underneath a table with my baby brother. While Iraqi missles fell too close to my house, and thats just a fews weeks of my life in the 8th grade

You have an opinion and it's one sided. You are angry and maybe you think you have a right to be. But I dont have to listen to it, especially when you think everyone should listen to you, but you need not do the same.

That's not human growth, that's ignorant narcissism.

Ok?

Good luck in Tel Aviv.

Yeah, thanks have a great life out in CA. Sorry for my ignorance.

Here's your proof idiots
Category: News and Politics

I'm getting sick and tired of the world's bullshit. Blaming Israel for everything, and everything we say is 'alleged'(Like the idiot BBC reporter that was on yesterday taking Hezbollah's side on 'who broke the ceasfire'). The world media has always been shit and apparently so have the leaders.

You want to know why Israel doesn't trust the Lebanese? Take a look at this. This is the story of the Marg'ayun base. Lebanese soldiers left although they weren't forced to- they didn't want to be seen as traitors... The UN forces came to help... Now UN resolution states that the Lebanese army joined by the UN will take over southern Lebanon AND disarm Hezbollah. Do see that happenning? (notice how the Lebanese soldiers walk around unarmed- their guns are locked in a wharehouse thats gonna help them fight them surely...)

Marg'ayun Base (Zion Nanus channel 2)

Or maybe you don't believe Syria has anything to do with this? This next clip was taken by a news reporter that was called in for reserve duty and filmed his 'Lebanon Diary', if you pay attention (even if you don't speak hebrew) you will see documents they found in the home of a Hezbollah member. They show PROOF that Syria has been sending them supplies- and I don't mean food!)

Filmed by Yosi Mizrahi (channel 2 news)

Think Iranians are peacefull muslems? Think again. This clip shows you lovely Iranian kids wishing death to Israel and the US of A.

Tehran children

So how do you explain it? Why is everybody ignoring whats really going on? Is it that you are too busy in your bubble? Don't care for people that are not you? Racist?

Sorry but I really don't get it! (and I consider myself to be quite smart... ..)
