AWARENESS: SAY IT LOUD

Tuesday, August 5, 2008

..

Twelve-year-old Jordan Coleman is the voice of Tyrone on Nickelodeon's Nick Jr. show, The Backyardigans. Challenged by his parents to give back to his community, Jordan used earnings from his voiceover career to create Say It Loud!, which he believes will inspire black boys to study hard and stay in school.

"When I heard the statistics about African-American boys and education I was shocked and sad.  I knew the numbers were low, based on what I see at my own school…but I had no idea the situation was this bad," Jordan said.

Send Videos Through Email, Get Fat Checks, Rinse, Repeat!
by: Kevin Browne ..TR> When you send video through emails you empower your email campaign by about 800%!

That's an 8 followed by two very very powerful zeros up there.

When your prospects watch you and see your passion and feel as if you are handing your great content to them and to to them only, a massive human psychological button is pushed. You have taken a HUGE portion of the faceless nature away from what the intent is famous for!

Give yourself a rousing ovation.

As a former Madison Avenue Creative Director, you'd better believe that NOTHING can touch what you now have at your fingertips in terms of an astounding ROI!

Mind you, this is happening right as Social Networking has become less about finding friends and more about finding great business relationships. Again, it's all about the content and it will always be about the content.

And now that you have the ability to literally "sell" your content to the prospects that tell you that they want to know more, and they WILL now see your enthusiasm for your pool table company, or your construction business or your mortgage brokerage site, wow, you have, as we say around here every day...loaded the deck.

You've put a series of processes into a line and you're allowing them to prove themselves like they always do.

I continue to be both amazed and saddened by folks who come online with a business and try to reinvent those things that work.

When you assemble a line of things that do, and when you send videos through emails, videos absolutely loaded with reasons why your prospects should go with you and you only, well, that is a process that you're going to want to keep.

Powerful Video Emails: You're Not In Kansas Anymore, Dorothy!
 by: Kevin Browne

Let's talk about powerful video emails for just a second.

Okay, we all saw what happened when Google fell in love with YouTube and bought them for about 1.6 Bil. So the question of whether video is attractive in the internet world has ALREADY been answered.

But the sheer potential of what video can now do for you and your business has become almost unimaginably simple. (But simple is scary...)

Let's say you have a website that clearly defines and outlines your mortgage business.

You realize (or do you) that virtual visitors are coming to your site through Content Search, through your business cards, through your blogs, whatever.

But put yourself into the shoes of someone who has just visited your site that ONE TIME. Do you honestly feel as if you were able to tell them EVERYTHING they need to know about what makes your company so special and so different from every other choice.

Of course not.

The average person spends about 20 seconds on your site and THEN THEY ARE GONE.

But what if there was a way to capture their information and then capture their imaginations? What if you had a way to "talk" to them and establish major credibility with them, until they were ready to buy?

What if you could CONVINCE them, over time, that you were tremendous?

And what would that do for your business?

We all have to ask ourselves VERY tough questions if we are going to maximize out returns.

Sending our powerful video emails in a cost effective manner will startle you when you see the results.

We're living proof of that.

Tapping Into Youtube

Here are five ways to promote your wares

By Fiona Haley

July 27, 2007--In a world where marketing opportunities abound, savvy business owners are always looking for new ways to promote their companies. Choosing between television, newspaper, magazine, and online marketing can be a difficult and expensive decision. If the choice calls for an Internet option that's free, easy to use, and has the potential to reach 20 million customers each month, consider YouTube.com, one of the fastest growing online video communities.

YouTube.com is a popular platform where people upload original videos—from quirky hobbies and interests to commercial programming -- for viewing, sharing, and broadcasting worldwide. Acquired by Google last October for $1.6 billion, YouTube currently shows 100 million videos per day and more than 65,000 videos are uploaded daily. The site accounts for 60% of all videos viewed online. According to Nielsen/NetRatings, YouTube has nearly 20 million unique users each month.

Few businesses are using YouTube for marketing, but the numbers are expected to grow quickly. With more companies shifting their advertising budgets from traditional TV advertising to the online video market, YouTube is an attractive promotional stage. Internet advertising revenues in the United States totaled $7.9 billion for the first six months of 2006; this was an increase of nearly 37% from the same period in 2005 according to IAB/PricewaterhouseCoopers.

John Easton, president of Eastonsweb Multimedia in Charlotte, North Carolina, believes YouTube offers a perfect opportunity for small-business owners. "With Google paying as much as they did, they will have to make [YouTube] commercially viable," says Easton, who creates YouTube videos for clients as well as for his own business. "We will see a different audience; they will do marketing, build functionality, and get new users. It's the perfect time."

Once you sign up as a YouTube member, uploading and converting your videos is an easy process. All videos have a 10-minute time limit (unless you are a director). To produce high-quality videos, Easton recommends having them professionally done. Having a short-form video professionally done costs $800 to $3,000, Easton says. Although the cost of creating a professional video may seem steep, Easton considers it a bargain compared to making a video for broadcast TV, which can cost $300 per second just for the production.

For the potential YouTube user, Easton suggests five ways to promote your wares:

  1. Create educational videos. Using videos to educate someone on a topic is a good way to attract new customers. Instructional videos explaining how to do everything from planning your 401(k) to baking a cake will draw users in and create interest in your business.
  2. Partner with popular YouTube publishers. Contact popular YouTube video makers and ask them to integrate your video into theirs. If they have a product that fits the demographic of your target market, it will generate awareness for your business.
  3. Court the press. Business owners that use YouTube should inform their local newspaper or TV station about their videos as well as inform Web media and bloggers so that they can get extra coverage.
  4. Join or start a YouTube channel. YouTube channels are small communities sharing interests in specific topics. Joining a category that fits your business will make it easier for potential customers to find your videos.
  5. Convert your existing video library. It's possible that companies have already created educational or promotional videos that are otherwise unused. Consider putting condensed versions on YouTube.

Executive Health: Part II

Preventing a heart attack

By Denise Campbell

September 23, 2007--Internationally renowned cardiologist Christopher J.W.B. Leggett, director of cardiology for Medical Associates of North Georgia in Canton, Georgia suggests individuals concentrate on risk management and understanding how certain conditions impact health. "For instance, 80% of diabetics die of heart attacks; and obesity is the No. 1 cause of type 2 diabetes in our country. "If you've got any of those risk factors, you need to be vigilant about controlling each of the problems independently," insists Leggett. "That's what will lower your risk."

Know the signs
The body sends a number of signals to let you know it's in trouble. One of the most common symptoms of heart disease is a transient ischemic attack, or mini-stroke. "This occurs when the blood vessels in the brain develop an ulcer caused by high cholesterol. Plaque forms around the crater, which eventually breaks off and makes its way through the bloodstream toward the brain," explains Donna Mendes, M.D., chief of vascular surgery at St. Luke's Hospital in New York City, clinical professor of surgery at the College of Physicians & Surgeons, and the first African American female to become board certified in the specialty of peripheral vascular surgery. "The impacted portion of the brain will suddenly experience decreased blood flow, resulting in a TIA." The part of the body controlled by that portion of the brain becomes impaired, lasting from a few minutes to 24 hours. Other indicators include loss of sensation on one side of the body; loss of vision or motor function; or intermittent pain in the calf after walking; the pain results from decreased oxygen and blood flow.

In the case of an impending heart attack, women present much milder and wider symptoms than men. These symptoms are often missed, misdiagnosed, or undertreated by both primary physicians and cardiologists. According to Patrice Desvigne-Nickens, M.D., head of the Cardiovascular Medicine Scientific Research Group at the Bethesda, Maryland-based National Heart Lung and Blood Institute, symptoms include fatigue; shortness of breath; feelings of indigestion and ill health; palpitations; neck, shoulder, and upper back pain; nausea; vomiting; sweating; and lightheadedness.

After weeks of persistent breathlessness and a vague sense of physical unease, Joan Connell, then 42, an accounting professional at Ziff Davis Publishing, went to the emergency room convinced she was having a heart attack. Despite being an overweight smoker who had been physically inactive for years, she was sent home. A week later she returned and was rushed into emergency bypass surgery that revealed four blocked arteries.

Symptoms in men include angina (chest pain), pressure or discomfort in the chest, or a tingling sensation in the arm or on one side of the body. Women, however, experience a broader constellation of symptoms over a prolonged period of time.

Executive Health: Part II
Page 2 ...continued from previous page

Overall, it is becoming increasingly important for individuals to take full ownership of their health: learning, reading, and researching information that will preserve their health, urges Leggett, "so that you can identify somebody who is incompetent taking care of you. Because [many] don't know the parameters of their conditions," Leggett offers, "they don't know that when someone says 'Go home, you're fine' to say 'I've read that diabetics can feel like this,' or 'Why don't you have a cardiologist [look at me]?'"

He laments that many of us are so consumed with pursuing economic and career goals that we too often neglect our health in the process. "Our ability to generate [wealth] is largely dependent on the preservation of our physical existence," he stresses. "You have to have quality physical examinations, know your history, and you have to identify high-caliber physicians around the country. Your health is important enough for you to find out where these people are," Leggett asserts. "You've got men who will drive 100 miles to play golf, but they don't want to drive 10 miles to see a good doctor."
