Slackin' on my bloggin'.....and some big news.
Wow.....three months later I guess I should update you on my life. I suck, what can I say.
In a matter of two weeks I have been fired from my old job and hired at a new gig, and relocated. Maybe I should be honest about the relocated part, I haven't quite moved yet. I'm working on it though.
Moving is my biggest pet peeve in life. I hate it. I spent 18 years of my life in the same house and since than have moved 5 times in 6 years. It sucks. Thankfully I *think* this time I might be able to afford movers, which makes moving 50+ crates of records slightly easier.
So back to the getting fired thing. I'm a classy guy, very professional, and thus won't sit here and trash my former employer. I was blessed to spend a year of my life in Lexington. I had a great time, made some friends that will follow me through life, and was given the opportunity to be heard by new employer. I'll bite my tongue as to why I was actually let go, but in retrospect it was kinda fun. Not many people can get canned and end up somewhere bigger and better in 72 hours. It felt good, and I'm sure the people responsible feel.........well.......I'll be nice :)
That being said, I CAN FINALLY SAY WHERE MY NEW JOB IS---- WOOO HOOOO. I'll be starting as the new night jock at Hot 99.5 in Washington, DC for Clear Channel in a week or so. For the non radio folks, thats a nice little jump. For the fellow radio geeks, you know what a big step it is to go from Lexington to DC. I have a ton of supportive friends who helped me get to this level and can't thank them enough.
I can't wait to get there and actually get started. The hard part is well, moving.....it always seems to go back to that.
I'm also looking forward to being close to my family and friends from back home. Being in Allentown for 12 hours on Chritstmas sucked, as did the occasional trip home that consisted of driving through the night and not sleeping for 3 days, literally. The trips back "the A" will be a tad more frequent now--- provided I don't get all my DJ equipment flipped over while opening for a certain major rapper this time.....different story for a different blog.......
So thank you again Lexington, it's been an incredible year. I will miss the Waffle House, and buying beer at a gas station, and a few other things. Mostly just those two things though.

It's 3am...
Random thoughts:
Wow....I'm bored. It seems as if no one is on AIM and my phone (the one time I have a second to answer it) isn't ringing. For once I'm caught up on all my work. There's always more work to start I suppose.
Anyways...fun things happening in my radio life, as I picked up a few new stations around the country who are running "grooves" mixes. Radio people: feel free to hit me for a demo, I'd love to hear your thoughts.
We are a month into "the book" (that's the ratings period for my non radio people) and things feel good here in Lex-town. I'm anxious to see the station do well and to my show continue it's upward trend from the Fall.
The rest of life is good as well, although as I always seem to bitch about in these blogs, I could use a weekend off and trip home. They seem so few and far between and I never get to see everyone while I'm there. Blue/White weekend at PSU was the shit, as always. It was great to see old friends, co workers, and people who I managed to have long in depth discussions with whose names I coudn't remember or never really knew in the first place. Thanks to everyone who made it happen, especially my boy Pete Butta!
Wow...can this get anymore boring?
Ok, I'm done, no more messages saying I didn't update it.

A good week, umm I think
Good things that happened this week:
-Kick ass night time radio here in Lex-town. Nothing like starting off the ratings period with a string of hot shows, interviews, and topics.
-A few new additions to the show who have both brought alot to the table. I look forward to going to work everyday now more than ever.
-A finalized deal to syndicate my mixshow nationwide, a goal I have had for a number of years. My show has been on in a number of other cities over the past few months but I expect that to grow even more.
-I'm finally allowed to play Rompe by Daddy Yankee.
Bad thing that happened this week:
-We lost Brian Sims, our afternoon guy, and my boss. Brian and I ended up being pretty cool and I wish him the best of luck in his new endeavor. He'll be successful I'm sure.
4 good things, 1 bad thing. I'll take it. To all the people listening and supporting, I appreciate it. To all the haters: I do it for ya'll (thank you Mike Jax). I'm looking forward to kick ass weekend with the people who I've become good friends with in a town that I'm really starting to enjoy.

Flavor Of Love
There it goes. 30 minutes of my life I will never get back. I sat there justifying the loss of these 30 minutes by saying to myself: "Hey you have to talk about this on the radio tommmorow, think of it as show prep." Sure show prep, that's what it was. When it was over I just sat up, grabbed the remote, and went back to The Food Network. No lie.
Of course I'm talking about the season finale of Flavor Of Love last night.
Someone remind me what they were competing for again? Oh yes, Flav's admiration and affection. You can't put a price on that. Good thing, since Flav couldn't even remember the girl's name who won. Hoopz was her nickname of course. I don't know why, I didn't start watching until them middle of the season.
Speaking of Hoopz, she was not a bad looking girl. Pretty damn hot actually. Except if I ever saw her now, I might "pull a pumkin" on her. Who is gonna want this girl after she degraded herself on national TV??????????????????? And yes, if you compete on a reality show for nothing, it's considered degrading. Hope she can pawn those grillz Flav gave her.
As for New York, Flav prolly made a good decision not going with her. Did you see her fall apart in the limo?? WHOA---- NOT STABLE!!!
So the only question I have, is will there be a season two? Can VH-1 squeeze one more half assed reality show out of Flav?
If they do, I'll be watching, for show prep purposes only of course.
