DEAD AND GONE A novel by Harry Shannon, is now up for pre-order
In August, Delirium kicks off its new line of original titles available both through its book club, hardcover subscription and available in trade paperback wherever books are sold. First off is Harry Shannon's Dead and Gone.
Unemployed actor Jack Wade takes his comatose wife to an isolated spot in the mountains, a place where a man once murdered his entire family. Frankie was a successful movie producer, but now they have run out of money. This dilapidated cabin is all they have left.
As the long, lonely nights stretch out before him, Jack's dreams overflow with nightmarish images. The isolation loosens his grip on reality. He believes Frankie is capable of leaving her bed and moving around.
And as Jack falls apart inside the cabin, someone or something else begins stalking the woods outsideā¦
Is the mountain evil, the cabin haunted? Or is poor Jack just going insane? Harry Shannon's disturbing novel is a relentless, non-stop exercise in terror.
Dead and Gone is also now a motion picture, available in stores everywhere from LionsgateDVD. com.
Greg Lamberson's blog FearZone.com will be devoting a lot of pixels to "Dead and Gone" over the next few days, including interviews with director Yossi Sasson, makeup wizard Dan Crawley of After Midnight Studios and CG mavin Nick deSomov. The coverage leads off with a lengthy interview with screenwriter Harry Shannon.
DEAD AND GONE novel & movie updates
Current mood: excited
Good news, I'm told DEAD AND GONE may get some cool print coverage in the new issue of Fangoria, which ships next week. We should have a trailer up & around the net pretty soon as well. Now trying to get my hands on some Lionsgate DVD's to get out there for review. The Delirium novel won't have ARC's until mid-July, unfortunately, just a few weeks behind the movie, but we're shooting for a party for the whole shebang at Dark Delicacies August 9th. It's getting exciting, especially after all this time!
Julie has started a brand new Friends of Harry Shannon Group for us all to hang out and discuss books, play games and generally raise hell. Come join us!
My first produced movie "Dead and Gone," directed by the multi-talented Yossi Sasson, is nearly read to go to market. The MySpace page is located here: www.myspace.com/deadandgonethemovie
The color correction has been turned in, Harry Manfredini's musical score is mixed, and the final sound design is approaching the finish line thanks to the brilliant folks over at Wigit.
Check this out. There is also a brand new website to look at, with some cool on-set photos in the Gallery section.
Harry Shannon knows how to entertain us. Long before his debut novel, Night of the Beast, won him respect and praise as an author of dark literature, Harry had made a name for himself in the music and film business. Harry's been an actor, a singer, an Emmy-nominated songwriter, a recording artist in Europe, a music publisher, VP of Carolco Pictures ("Terminator 2," "Total Recall," "Rambo"), and worked as a freelance music supervisor on films such as "Basic Instinct" and "Universal Soldier." He holds an MA in psychology and is currently a counselor in private practice.
Horror World: So, Harry, with all that behind you, have you decided what you want to be when you grow up..?
