Save Music
Now is your chance to save the world! Write your congressman/woman to show your support for the "Internet Radio Equality Act" and tell everyone you know about it too! Make t-shirts, make stickers, draw on your face do what you gotta do. The internet is the last frontier, we gotta do our part to keep it freeeeeeeeeeeeee. Our friend's the Hairbrained Scheme made this great form letter so you don't even have to write anything:
Dear ,
I strongly urge you to co-sponsor 'The Internet Radio Equality Act'-HR 2060. Internet radio is the only way that many artists can be heard. It worries me to think that a gigantic money minded company can control everything people see and hear. Companies like the bloated RIAA need to learn to adapt to their surroundings and embrace Internet radio as another viable outlet for music. The time has come for artists to have more power over their own doings, and Internet radio is a great way for lesser-known artists to be heard.
If we allow Clear Channel and their minions, be they overt or innocuous, to stifle a different avenue for people to listen to music-we are going down a path of tyranny and thought control the consequences of which have been conjectured in works such as George Orwell's 1984. We can't allow this to happen. Once we are told what to listen to, it's only a matter of time that any sort of dissent is deemed treason.
We, as a nation, can't begin to suffocate our citizen's freedom of expression and the freedom to observe that expression. I believe that it is strongly infringing on our freedoms to place higher rates and greater restrictions on internet radio than on other forms of radio, and for this reason, I urge you to join representatives Jay Inslee and Donald Manzullo on 'The Internet Radio Equality Act'-HR 2060
