We are playing our last show this saturday. Sad, painful but relieving. It is the end of alot of hard work and sacrifice but I can say for all of us that it was worth all of it. So many great memories and great people we found along the way. Thanks to all of you who made the last 8 years possible. Continue to support DIY music and we will see you in another form...cheers. HIMSA KICKS OFF NORTH AMERICAN TOUR!!

HIMSA Kicks Off North American Tour With Amon Amarth;..:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

HIMSA TV Now Online

HIMSA kicks off their first North American tour in almost two years tonight as they hit the road with Amon Amarth and Sonic Syndicate. The group have triumphantly returned with a devastating new offering, Summon In Thunder, which is already being hailed by critics and fans as the band's career defining opus. See below or visit www.myspace.com/himsa for their complete tour routing.

The inaugural episode of HIMSA TV, shot by King of Hearts Productions, has been posted online. In this wacky segment the guys give you a firsthand look into the insanity that took place at their record release show and present some out-takes from their "Unleash Carnage" video shoot. Click on the link below to check it out and stay tuned each week for new episodes from the road.

Derek Harn (bass) checks in with the following report: "Hey HIMSA dominion! It's been well over a year since we've done a full U.S. tour and we're all anxious to get back out on the road and rock you again. Our latest album, Summon In Thunder, has been getting great reviews and a lot of excitement from fans new and old. We'll be playing a lot of new material on these dates and we have a new powerhouse of a drummer named Joe Frothingham. He hails from the woods of Washington state and he loves to beat the hell out of his drums.

"We are very fortunate to be playing these dates with Amon Amarth and look forward to making friends with them and Sonic Syndicate. Our thoughts and best wishes go out to the members of Decapitated and their families. Their presence on this tour will be sadly missed.

"We recently played our record release show in Seattle at El Corazon. We themed it out with tennis gear like the 'Unleash Carnage' video. Things got crazy, bodies and balls were flying constantly. Check out the webisode of that and the out-takes from the music video. We'll be bringing you another installment next week with more footage and craziness from the road. We look forward to seeing you headbanging in the crowds across the country. Be sure to stop by our merch table to give us some high-fives."

HIMSA recently completed a very unique video for the track, "Big Timber," with director Jared Eberhardt. This is an abstract clip that focuses on the journeys of Sasquatch; you have to see it to truly believe it. Click the link below to check it out.

The Seattle-based metal quintet's ferocious blend of melodic, unrelenting thrash speed mixed with old-school influences results in a savage, unique and uncompromising sound that is welcome, refreshing and undeniable. This scorching new effort (and debut Century Media offering) also marks the return of original guitarist, Sammi Curr, to the fold. With Curr rejoining and collaborating with Kirby Johnson (guitars), the group's integrity and passion were at an all-time high, resulting in their most dynamic, yet devastating material yet.

In 2007, HIMSA are destined to leave a definitive mark on the genre.

"Summon In Thunder is without a doubt the group's finest offering yet."

            --Blabbermouth

"This is the sound of American metal's next truly great band realizing their own excellence and basking in a self-made glow of invincibility—9 out of 10

--Metal Hammer UK

HIMSA lands number 1 spot at metal radio!

HIMSA's Hail Horror has overtaken the #1 position at American metal radio, as measured by FMQB, a radio trade publication. Beating out fierce competition at both college and commercial metal radio, the success for Hail Horror comes at a perfect time when the band is receiving hoards of positive press both domestically and overseas, logging video airplay for the single "Sleezevil" and partaking in the hugely successful "Undoing Ruin 2006" tour alongside Darkest Hour and Prosthetic Records labelmates The Acacia Strain. MTV2 will be re-airing the "Sleezevil" video on this weekend's edition of "Headbangers Ball," while HIMSA will continue touring the US through April 8 before heading back to Europe with Death By Stereo and The Banner for live appearances in April and May.

"Sleezevil" video to debut this weekend on MTV2!

HIMSA's brand new music video for "Sleezevil," from the Prosthetic Records release Hail Horror, will make its television debut this Saturday, Feb. 18, on a 60-minute edition of MTV2's "Headbangers Ball." Directed by Derek Dale, who also handled the "Rain To The Sound of Panic" video from Himsa's critically-acclaimed 'Courting Tragedy And Disaster' album, the "Sleezevil" footage was shot over Halloween weekend in downtown Los Angeles and promises to show fans and newcomers alike another side of the band, reflecting HIMSA's dark sense of humor. Mixing scantily clad nurses, mad doctors, and mosh pits, the "Sleezevil" video recalls the glory days of tongue-in-cheek 80s metal videos, while combining modern-day heavy metal intensity and credibility. Photos from the shoot can be seen
here.

"It was fun," guitarist Sammi Curr says of the video shoot. "We just came off the Danzig tour, so we were really tired, but Derek [Dale] is an awesome guy. He offers really good input, he pretty much saw what we were talking about for an idea, and talked about treatment for it. There were no translation problems between the idea and the result....it even came out better."

"I originally came up with the idea during Courting Tragedy & Disaster, but it was too funny at the time, not serious enough," Curr continued. "It got vetoed back in the day, but when we were talking about an idea for new video, Derek [Harn, bassist] suggested the old video idea. The band has changed so much, that we don't necessarily have to do the dramatic stuff...we don't care about that shit anymore."

Currently headlining club shows, HIMSA will meet up with Prosthetic labelmates The Acacia Strain to be part of Darkest Hour's "Undoing Ruin 2006" tour, beginning Feb. 17 in New York. Never a band to stay off the road, HIMSA will also return to Europe in April and May shortly after completing its current round of US dates. The extensive touring currently planned is all to support 'Hail Horror,' a record that was labeled as one of Decibel magazine's most anticipated albums of 2006 and touted as "one of the most refreshing albums to surface in a while...a bilious, marauding antidote to the sickly sweet metalcore norm" by Kerrang magazine.

HIMSA departs for tour, announces a spring return to Europe

Seattle-based thrashers HIMSA have departed for a brief headlining jaunt before meeting up with label mates The Acacia Strain for Darkest Hour's "Undoing Ruin 2006" tour, which also features A Life Once Lost and Dead To Fall. The band will plays shows back west immediately commencing the current tour when it is complete on April 1.

Meanwhile, dates for HIMSA's return to Europe have been announced. After touring the continent with 3 Inches of Blood during December 2005 in anticipation for the release of 'Hail Horror,' Himsa is excited to return to Europe, where press has since praised the new album. Kerrang called 'Hail Horror' "one of the most refreshing albums to surface in a while...a bilious, marauding antidote to the sickly sweet metalcore norm" featuring "serrated, hateful riffs that recall thrash gods Testament at their most extreme." The magazine also labeled HIMSA one of the "5 kick-ass metal bands for 2006." Metal Hammer also agrees, calling 'Hail Horror' a "gloriously vibrant effort absolutely chock full of crunchy metallic goodness." In fact, Finnish rocker Ville Valo (HIM) gives HIMSA his stamp of approval, too: "Everyone should check HIMSA out. It's extremely energetic metal that brings to mind Entombed's classic 'Left Hand Path' album with it's fuzzy guitar tones and horror movie atmospherics."
