Your team can play in Cal State Championships 4 FREE
Hello Everyone,
I am working with the CalChess State Championship organizers and have been given a unique oppurtunity that I thought you and your students might be interested in.
The Chess State Championship is scheduled for the weekend of May 16 - 18, 2008 at the San Jose Convention Center. We are currently looking for volunteers to help on these days (even 1 day would be great).
Students from beginners to advanced chess players will participate in this event. I have been informed that I can now offer a select number of students free registration in exchange for volunteer service. For every adult volunteer, you can select one student to enter into the competition for free. I have one school that found that $55+ registration fee to be too high, so we have made arrangements to have 4 volunteers from their school working the event allowing the 5 players to participate for free.
If you would like to work something out so that your students can participate at low to no cost, please contact me ASAP. There are over 800 trophies and everyone who participates will walk away with a prize.
Registration ends the end of next week.
