Trouble with our Message Board
Current mood:  frustrated
Greetings IOHP members. I am having trouble getting onto our message boards. When I can get onto them I can't post anything. Is anyone else having this problem? I have tried to write an e-mail to the tech support of our host, but it was returned to me as undeliverable (not a good sign.) I may need to move the message board to a new provider. If it comes to that I will notify all of our members.

IOHP courses now LIVE

The International Order of Horror Professionals announces the official launch of their online courses for 2008.
This slate of courses is preliminary. There will be more courses to come in 2008 from various instructors in the future as well. IOHP courses are taught by professional-status members who work in their respective industries.
Courses are limited to 20 registrants per course, per session.
The next course session begins February 4, 2008:
* Horror Screenwriting - eight weeks - $100
* Writing Comics - four weeks - $60
* Marketing/Promotion for Writers - four weeks - $60
* How to Write, Sell and Market Your Nonfiction Book - four weeks - $60
* Creativity 101: Tapping the Muse Within - four weeks - $45
* Real-time Writing Workshop - three weeks - $50*
Beginning Saturday, February 23, 2008 -
* REAL-TIME Writing Workshop
Instructor - Andrea Dean Van Scoyoc
Course length: three weeks
Cost: $50 for the entire three-week course OR $20 for each individual session
Course time: 7-9 p.m. EASTERN U.S. time
Andrea's weekly course sessions are as follows: Week 1: Writing believable characters and shaping your story. Week 2: Writers block and ennui. How to get the story done when you're stuck and polishing when it is done. Week 3: Editing, marketing, self publishing and other ideas of how to get your work into the hands of readers.
(Please note: Andrea's course is a real-time course and is conducted in a LIVE chat room with the instructor present) All students will receive the course location via private e-mail once they have registered for the course.

IOHP online courses go LIVE on January 7, 2008

Online courses hosted and presented by the International Order of Horror Professionals will go LIVE on January 7, 2008.
* David C. Hayes will be teaching two courses:
(1) Writing Comics
(2) Writing Horror Screenplays
* Bev Walton-Porter will be teaching two courses:
(1) Marketing/Promotion for Writers
(2) Creativity 101: Tapping the Muse Within
Registration will begin December 7, 2007.
Potential instructors for upcoming courses in 2008 include Andrea Dean Van Scoyoc, Jeremy Seffens and Gary Hill.
