Surgery update

I had a message left to me by the surgeon's nurse to have me call them back,they had run into a little snag with my new insurance and they needed a referral from my primary doctor so that they can do the surgery.After 3 phone calls later that got done .So after it gets approved by my insurance and all the other paper work that luckily I don't hafta fool with I should be hearing from the surgeon's office no later than Friday or Monday to have my surgery scheduled.My nerves are now kicking in and I want them to hurry up and sew me back together already!

Hurricane Ike

Just letting our out of town friends know that hurricane Ike,Hanna, and Gustav did NOT touch Kim's and my apartment.Luckily we were smart enough to find a place above the bowl so that when it rains the water just runs off the highway and smaller streets and doesn't flood us out.I hope that none of our friends got hurt or damage done from these hurricanes.Praying to the God's and Goddesses that our friends are all ok.

HOSPITAL UPDATE

KIM AND I WENT TO THE APPOINTMENT THIS MORNING AND LIKE I HAD THOUGHT THE WOUND VAC TREATMENT DIDN'T MAKE A BIG ENOUGH DENT IN THE HEALING OF THE WOUND.THE WOUND CARE WANTS TO DO A FOLLOW-UP NEXT WEEK.THEN IN 2 WEEKS THE WOUND CARE DOCTOR IS GOING TO LOOK AT THE WOUND AGAIN AND THEN DETERMINE FROM THERE WHETHER OR NOT I WILL BE ADMITTED TO THE HOSPITAL FOR THE SURGERY.IF HE STILL WANTS TO GO FORWARD WITH THE SURGERY I WILL BE ADMITTED TO BRACKENRIDGE HOSPITAL AND YOU WILL HAVE TO TALK TO KIM TO FIND OUT WHICH ROOM I WILL BE IN.I HAVE PICKED BRACKENRIDGE BECAUSE WITH ALL THE FRIENDS AND FAMILY THAT I HAVE THAT WORK THE IMMEDIATE DOWNTOWN AREA CAN COME AND SEE ME EITHER BEFORE THEY GO TO WORK OR AFTER THEY GET OFF WORK.AIN'T I SMART?THANKS AGAIN FOR THE SUPPORT AND ALL MY WORRY WARTS THAT CARE ABOUT ME.OTHER THAN THAT YOU CAN LEAVE ME A MESSAGE ON MY MYSPACE OR REFER ALL QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS TO MY BELOVED MR.KIM.

Sandy Allen passes away

Sandy Allen, world's tallest woman, dies in Shelbyville

The world's tallest woman, Sandy Allen, passed away early today in a
nursing home in Shelbyville.
She was 53 and had been ill for several months, said Rita Rose, a
family friend for 30 years.
Funeral arrangements were pending at Murphy-Parks Funeral Services in
Shelbyville.
Allen, who is 7-foot-7 1/4, is listed by the Guiness World Records as
the tallest living woman.
Sandy Allen was a 6.5-pound baby, and her abnormal growth began soon
after her birth in June 1955. By the age of 10 she stood 6-3 tall, and
was 7-1 by 16 years old, according to the Guiness World Records Web
site.
A tumor on her pituitary gland caused her abnormal growth, said Rose,
who is publishing a book about Allen's high school days in
Shelbyville. The tumor was removed in 1977.
Sandy had a dream to break free of a world, that she felt she had
outgrown. In her first letter to Guinness World Records in 1974 she
wrote, "I would like to get to know someone that is approximately my
height. It is needless to say my social life is practically nil and
perhaps the publicity from your book may brighten my life," Guiness
World Records reported.
The accolade did help to bring about a reversal of fortunes for the
Indiana secretary.
First, there was an offer from film director Federico Fellini to take
a role in his film Casanova in 1975, and then her first date with a 7-
foot Illinois man.
Poor circulation and weak leg muscles meant she was dependent on a
wheelchair, and Rose said Allen had health struggles since June

Bernie Mac passes

Bernie Mac, who for the past 30 years made the public laugh with an over-sized comic persona in film, television and comedy clubs, has died of pneumonia, PEOPLE has confirmed. He was 50.
"[He] passed away this morning from complications due to pneumonia in a Chicago area hospital," his rep, Danica Smith, told PEOPLE. "No other details are available at this time. We ask that his family's privacy continues to be respected."
On Aug 1, Mac was admitted to a hospital at Northwestern Memorial hospital with pneumonia said his rep, adding that he was expected to recover, despite widespread rumors about the seriousness of his condition. .. --> jump -->
Born Bernard Jeffrey McCullough in Chicago, Mac began his career as a stand-up comedian in the small comedy clubs of his native town. As a founding member of the Kings of Comedy comedy tour – the success of which spawned Spike Lee's 2000 concert movie The Original Kings of Comedy (also starring Steve Harvey, D.L. Hughley, Cedric the Entertainer) – Mac was able to spotlight what would become his rapid-fire delivery. This effectively launched him into the big time.
The Bernie Mac Show, which ran from 2001 to 2006, often poked fun of Mac's own life and proved a favorite of both critics and audiences – receiving a prestigious Peabody Award, as well as honors from the Television Critics Association (for best individual achievement in comedy).
In addition, the program provided a popular platform for Mac to win consecutive NAACP Image Awards for outstanding actor in a comedy series, from 2003 to 2006.
Named top actor in a comedy series at the '06 ceremony, Mac clutched his trophy and reverted to his standup character, declaring: "America, I heard your prayers, and you wanted me here. The Mac Man cometh, and I'm bringing hell with me."
Movie RolesHe scored on the big screen, too. Among his appearances were those in the comedy Guess Who (as Ashton Kutcher's imposing, prospective father-in-law); the Ocean's 11 franchise; Bad Santa; Charlie's Angels; and Pride, costarring Terrence Howard.
This spring, Mac wrapped the upcoming film Soul Men, a comedy costarring Samuel L. Jackson about a former singing duo staging a comeback. He is also set to appear in Old Dogs with John Travolta, Robin Williams and Matt Dillon.
Responding to news of Mac's death, his Ocean's cohort George Clooney, said, "The world just got a little less funny. He will be missed dearly."
A man of many media, Mac published a 2001 collection of comic riffs, I Ain't Scared of You and a 2006 memoir, Maybe You Never Cry Again.
In February 2005, Mac, then 47, revealed that for the previous two decades he had suffered from sarcoidosis, an autoimmune disease that causes inflammation in organs such as the lungs or lymph nodes. "It has not altered or limited my lifestyle," he said at the time.
Since 1977, Mac was married to Rhonda McCullough, with whom he had a daughter, Je'Niece, born in 1978. A graduate of Xavier University of Louisiana (with a bachelors degree in psychology and a masters in mental health counseling), Je'Niece married in 2003 and also has a daughter, Jasmine. His family survives Mac.
Wanted to Enjoy LifeIn 2007, Mac told David Letterman on the Late Show that he intended to retire from standup comedy.
"It's going to be 30 years for me, and I'm going to call it," said Mac. "I missed a lot of things, you know. I was a street performer for two years. I went into clubs in 1977."
The years of hard work, Mac says, caused him to "miss out on so much, you know, and you live in all these hotels – I was on the road 47 weeks out of the year." As the comedian told Letterman, "I want to enjoy my life a little bit."

NEW HEALTH UPDATE

THE ULCER IS HEALING WELL AS FAR AS I KNOW.I WENT TO A DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENT YESTERDAY TO GET IT CHECKED OUT.HE HAS TOLD ME THAT HE WILL GIVE IT ONE MORE MONTH OF THE VAC TREATMENT AND IF IT DOESN'T HEAL BY THEN TO HIS LIKING THEN HE WILL ADMIT ME TO THE HOSPITAL FOR 6-8 WEEKS FOR SURGERY AND HEALING TIME.I WILL UPDATE YOU AS I FIND OUT MYSELF.IN THE MEANTIME WE WILL STILL BE WORKING AT 5TH AND CONGRESS AT THE MEXICARTE ART MUSEUM.COME BY AND CHECK US OUT.

Kim FINALLY

Yes we both have been very busy with all my hospital visits and work.But Kim finally was able to get our cam up and working!So if you are not able to get downtown and need a reading please let me know.It still works as if we are downtown.We work on a donation basis only and we generally get between $10-$50 per reading depending on if you like us or not!LOL.For those of you who have gotten a reading from us before know that WE WILL NOT TELL YOU WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR BUT WHAT YOU NEED TO HEAR.So don't expect us to go there or change how we do things.You are either going to be open and accept it or not it's your choice.
