We're really excited about our upcoming all ages show at the Whisky this Monday (Aug 4th) at 10pm! We'll be playing a lot of new material for the first time (with a brand new bass player). Thank you so much for your continued support of Hypnogaja. It's been a little while since an update and we wanted to reach out and let you all know what's been going on:
NEW ALBUM
The last three years of touring have been amazing. We've been to so many new places and have met so many great people and have had the chance to share our music with a bigger audience than ever. Since our return from the last leg of the BELOW SUNSET tour (opening for Saliva in Canada), we've been working on our new album. It's called TRUTH DECAY and we're done writing all of the songs and we're finally in the process of recording and mixing. The first single, "The March," will be out this Summer. Really looking forward to sharing the new music with everyone!

Many people have been asking us, "When does the new album come out?" and "When are you going to perform in my city?" Honestly, there's only one thing delaying us from releasing the new project and getting back on the road: the absence of cold hard cash. So, we've made the decision to make the new album a partially fan-funded project - a patronage thing where in return for donating certain amounts, we give you prizes. If you live in the Southern California area, or are planning to visit this Summer, we are going to playing our first live show of 2008 at The Whisky A Go-Go on the Sunset Strip on Monday, August 4 at 10 pm (we're playing with The Orphics, who follow at 11 pm). We'd love for all of you to be there and experience the live debut of the songs from the new album. We'll send out more info about the show as the date approaches.
Also, if you are planning on attending the Comic-Con convention in San Diego this July, we're going to be performing an acoustic set during NY Times best-selling author Frank Beddor's (THE LOOKING GLASS WARS) panel. More info on this soon.

Wanted to check in with you and share some recent news. This week, our band mate and friend, Tim Groeschel, decided that it was time to leave Hypnogaja and the music business behind in pursuit of new life opportunities. Tim has been a member of Hypnogaja and brother to all of us for a long time and he will no doubt be missed by everyone. It was, of course, an amicable parting and we all wish him the very best in all of his future endeavors.
In the meantime, we are still very much in writing and recording mode for the new album. We’re really looking forward to sharing this new music with all of you.

Hey friends of Hypno!
For all of you who are in the LA area and would like to see an acoustic Hypnogaja show, we're going to be leaving the studio and venturing out into the world to play a few songs at an art gallery and book store event featuring New York Times best-selling author Frank Beddor (THE LOOKING GLASS WARS) and author James A. Owen (HERE, THERE BE DRAGONS).
As many of you may know, two of Hypnogaja's songs ("Looking Glass" and "Lullaby") were featured on the soundtrack for THE LOOKING GLASS WARS. We'll be performing both of those tracks along with some other surprises, including a brand new song from the upcoming new album.

We've been getting a lot of emails asking about our next tour and the new album, so I thought I'd check in with an update.
We've been doing a lot of writing, it's been a really creative period for us. Once we have all of the songs gathered, we're going to go full speed into recording and mixing. It's funny, I know albums take a lot of work, but it's easy to forget how intense the process can be - we haven't done a full length all-new release since BELOW SUNSET. One thing we've been trying NOT to do is rush the project. We want it to be the best it can be and we want it to be something we can excited to share with all of you. :-)
On the touring front, as much as we'd love to be out there at this very moment, our first priority right now is to finish the album and get it ready for release. Once that's all in process, tour plans can finally start to materialize. We'll of course keep you posted on dates. In the meantime, we'll be performing in the SoCal area and also plan on doing some webcasts and stuff.
We've been getting requests for behind the scenes material. For starters, we've posted the following video on YouTube. It's footage of the making of the "Silver Star" video. If you watch about 3/4 of the way into it, you can see our tutorial on how to make a Hypno Road Sammy. They're a pretty tasty item to make, and you've probably already all got the fixins you need in your fridge right now:
