Ian McLagan & the Bump Band join thousands of music lovers on every continent, ringing the world with a musical affirmation of the oneness of humankind. The Bump Band's performances at the Lucky Lounge in October are part of the 7th Annual Daniel Pearl World Music Days- a global network of concerts that uses the universal language of music to diminish hatred, respect differences, and reach out in global friendship.
Daniel Pearl, the journalist and musician kidnapped and murdered by terrorists in Pakistan was a classically-trained violinist, as well as a fiddler and mandolin player who joined musical groups wherever he traveled. World Music Days commemorates his October 10th birthday and carries on his mission of connecting diverse people through words and music.
We thank you for joining us in helping to spread "Harmony for Humanity".

Greetings from the Texas Commission on the Arts!
TCA has opened the call for nominations for Texas State Musician, Poet Laureate, Visual Artist 2-D, and Visual Artist 3-D. TCA oversees the selection process for the four positions, created by S.B. 1043 of the 77th Legislature, and we would really appreciate your help in getting the word out about this opportunity. If you know of a qualified candidate, please make a nomination.

Deadline for receipt of nominations is October 5th.
The Texas State Musician, Poet Laureate, and State Artist Committee, composed of members appointed by the Governor, Lieutenant Governor and Speaker of the House of Representatives, will make the final selections sometime in the spring of 2009 when the 81st Legislature convenes.

In December of 2007 Ian 'Mac' McLagan and Glyn Johns, his old pal from Small Faces and Faces days, met at Sphere Studios in London to mix and master Ian McLagan's beautiful and emotionally raw CD, Never Say Never. The self produced and directed album features McLagan's award winning Bump Band: 'Scrappy' Jud Newcomb, Don Harvey and Mark Andes, and includes all original songs written by one of the best-loved musicians of our time. Patty Griffin graces Never Say Never with her soulful vocals and she and the Tosca Strings can be heard on the final track, the heart wrenching When The Crying Is Over. McLagan recorded and produced Never Say Never at The Doghouse Studios in Manor, Texas, and recorded Where Angels Hide on the Steinway in The Edythe Bates Old Chapel at The International Festival-Institute in Round Top, Texas. Never Say Never was released on Proper Records in the UK/Europe on July 7, 2008. Listen to sounds and pick up your signed copy at maniacrecords.net Also available at CDBaby and iTunes.
