ONES TO WATCH IN GERMAN PRESS
Dark Sparks have been picked up by the German press and marked out as 'Ones to Watch' on hip website www.indie-rock-bands.com. The writers predict that it will not be long before we pick up a record contract. Let's hope they are right! A rough translation is below. If any of our Germans fans can do better you would be most welcome!!! XXX
"The DARK SPARKS begin from derby, England. Leigh and Adam Greenwood, Simon Green and Rich Kightley make the utmost catchy music together. This one also has reminded of The Cure eighties. In any case it will be no longer a before a record contract will swim ashore. Two Songs already have to be purchased at iTunes and answer to MySpace. They are already the new hot tip in England after playing with the Blood Red Shoes. How chance wants it are the Dark Sparks to the support here, and might provide new fans once again so. Anspieltipp is being Bullet in The Eye without question. The whole force comes from Leigh Greenwoods voice most intensively here." Original text

BLOOD PETROL FIRE PRAISED BY ROOM THIRTEEN
Blood Petrol Fire has received an excellent 10 out of 13 rating from music website Room Thirteen. Read the Review here. http://www.roomthirteen.com/cgi-bin/cd_view.cgi?CDID=7539 BLOOD PETROL FIRE/BULLET IN THE EYE Upon first listening to this track, it sounds like the lads had been working long and hard for a long time. It was a shock to me that they had only formed in January 2007! The track opens on a high note, with electrics pounding and sparks flying. But it quickly calms being much more focused on its aim; to make people dance and have a blast. As I listened, I found myself not really getting the lyrics, until I read them. 'Blood Petrol Fire' is a track, which seems to be about a car accident, and the effects that such an experience can have. When knowing this, I found I had to listen to it again and I am glad I did. With a second listen I had much more appreciation for the indie rock vocals and accompanying instrumentals. I am not sure why, but listening to the song for a second time gave me a higher sense of admiration and appreciation for the song. 2008 is going to be a year of more great music and talented musicians bringing what they got to the table. Dark Sparks has a lot to offer.
