Fabulous Fringe Fundraiser May 29!
IndyFringe Fabulous Fringe Fundraiser! Thursday, May 29 @ American Cabaret Theatre Mix and Mingle: 6:00 p.m. Free food and Cash Bar Performances: 7:00 p.m.
Featuring the Slip-Knot by TJ Dawe Canadian, TJ Dawe has performed in over sixty Fringe Festivals and is the North American Fringe circuit top box office performer.
The Slip-Knot is a one person show about working horrible day jobs: stock-boy at a drug store, truck driver for a dumpster company and Christmas parcel tracker for the post office.
A short play by Indianapolis playwrite Amy Petinella FringeFriday favorite Amy Pettinella will present an original play for the fundraisr.
And more! Be there as we announce the NUVO New Playwright Contest Winner and reveal the 2008 IndyFringe Poster by Emma Overman. This years art work features four individual paintings that will be part of a silent auction for the IndyFringe Fundraiser. Featuring Performances from:
Evil Petting Zoo The Evil Petting Zoo improv group from Hanover College brings a night of comedy to Indy. Evil Petting Zoo will be performing The Harold, the flagship improv form conceived by Del Close and Charna Halpern at the ImprovOlympic in Chicago. EPZ trained at the ImprovOlympic in February, and are eager to perform The Harold for new audiences!
Christian and Katalina Christian and Katalina previously performed in Fringe hits Mindtripping and Married 2 Magic and will be returning to the IndyFringe stage in August with a new show.
Celestine Bloomfield, Storytelling Arts of Indiana Celestine has been an audience favorite since the first Hoosier Storytelling Festival in 1988 due to her masterful sense of timing, rich voice that captivates and her fluid gestures that invite audiences into her space.
Lanky Wood Productions Lanky Wood Productions will present "The Sylvia Plath Memorial Institute For The Art of Self Destruction." A comedic sketch about suicide - the title says it all.

Tonos Triad
This eclectic acoustic trio consisting of upright bass, classical guitar, and accordion quickly became a Fringe favorite in January and returns to FringeFriday this month. If you missed them the first time, don’t make the same mistake again!
Deborah Asante, Storytelling Arts of Indiana
Deborah Asante is not only the founding artistic director of the Asante Children’s Theatre, a FringeNext top seller, but also one of Indiana’s most captivating storytellers. Having lived everywhere as the eldest of five children in a miliraty family she has plenty of stories to tell.

Mix and Mingle:5:30 p.m. Performances: 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.
Performances from: Bloomington Playwrights Project Members of the BPP's Ensemble of Artists will perform a selection of pieces from last months BLIZZARD, an evening of 27 ultra-short, 3-minute plays, performed this past January. Audience members were asked to vote for their favorite plays. Four actors under the direction of Jack Johnson (known collectively as Team Johnson) will be performing some of the highest vote-getters from this year and handful of favorites from productions past.
The Theatre Within The Theater Within is making a name for itself in Indianapolis with its inaugural season by staging works that ignite dialogue. The Theatre Within will preview their upcoming production of the Laramie project marking the 10th Anniversary of Matthew Shepard's death.

Performers wanted for FringeFriday!
We are in need of performers for our monthly event FringeFriday.
Performances can be anything you want: Comedy, drama, magic, storytelling, music, cabaret, variety...
Length: 5-15 mins.
FringeFriday is a free event to the public and averages an audience of 60 per month.
This is a great oppurtunity to try a new work with an audience, gain exposure to a new audience, or just perform with no costs to the performing group.
This month is Jan 25 @ the Phoenix. If you cannot do this month, FringeFriday is the last Friday of every month so plan ahead!
Event starts at 5:30 and performances run 6-7.
