Supervisor and other stuff
Current mood: accomplished
Category: Life
Well, for those of you keeping up with my crazy and erratic postings...I finally made supervisor! It was confirmed on Tuesday. Maybe now life will be able to settle down and I can get some things done! LOL
Yeah right. I love my job, it is weird but I really enjoy it. I happen to be very good at it too hehe. The new pay raise is not what I was hoping for but it is not too shabby either.
Jess is going job hunting next week while my parents are on vacation and with luck we will be moving into our own home soon. The next three months are going to be busy just getting things figured financially.
The Writers Cramp is doing well despite my inablity to be more active as the hostess. I hope that one of these days I can devote the time I was able to in the begining. Untill then keep on visiting and posting new helpful info for the writing community!

HAHA Coming up for air!
Current mood: blank
Category: Writing and Poetry
hehe Mouse that is exactly what it feels like these Days! Coming up for Air! I always feel like I should be doing something when I dont get the chance to write. Almost like a compulsion...it can be a bit hard to explain. Some days it helps just to even read over the things I have already written in the past and think of ways it could be edited...even if I dont actually get the chance to do so. Otherwise I end up wandering around in a daze thinking "I should be doing something...there has got to be more to life than this." DOnt get me wrong..I mean there is pleanty going on to keep my busy! I just dont get to express the creative sie of me like I should and it starts to eat away at me. I went a good few years without writing at all and couldnt figure out why I alwas felt like something was missing. Once I started writing every day and learning how to write I realized that was it. After High school there was nothing MAKING me write every day so I lost touch. Now I know that was the thing that was missing and I try to do something with my books every day or else I go crazy.

Excited.
Current mood: stressed
Category: Life
Been a while since I sat down to write but here I am. Work and sick family have kicked my butt the last few months so I am sorry to everyone who looked forward to these little blogs and hope to get my shtuff together enough to start writting again on a regular basis....we shall see.
I work in the frameshop now and am training in as the new supervisor. One of the guys is an artists/musician...I have to look up his website again but his name is Jake Hose. There is also Patty...her style is a lot like Amy Brown,( who is in town here in Tacoma WA by the way) Patty will be in a Fairy Fair to display and sell her work tomorrow (with Amy Brown) she is very nervouse! (Gee I cant imagine why!) When Patty gets a website I will have to put that up as well. You guys will love her work!
Jake is pushing me to write. Every time we work together "Have you written anything lately?" hehe great way to lay on the guilt!
Natalie (she WAS the Supervisor) is also a writer and I hope to hook her up with TWC and friends I have made there. SHe was able to drop down to part time because her man got a great promotion. Grats to Nat and go girl Write!

Sick and I hate it...
Current mood: crappy
Category: Blogging
I hate being sick...and it seems like I am sick all the time the last few months. Maybe it is just winter in Washington? Whatever.
The new job is going great. I am learning how to do Framing. Turns out that the Supervisor there is also a writer! and a gamergeek like me. Turns out great LOL. I need to get her myspace name next time I talk to her so I can add her to friends and send her on to TWC. I think she would really like the feedback.
Got an email from one of the members of TWC about a bit of a confrontation. It was actually mild in my group...I have not been to the other to see how bad it got there. Let that MOD worry about it. I want TWC to be anti-angry and will do what I can to keep it that way. Short of booting someone who is a troublemaker...I am not sure I can say anything without adding to the mess. I guess I will just have to send them an email with a warning and go from there.
MAN! I can tell I am rusty with the writting...I keep having to backspace and start over or second guessing if that sentance should go in that paragraph! LOL It doesnt help that I have a head cold and feel like crap.
Some news from TWC....I got papers to join a writers school called Long Ridge Writers Group. I got some feedback from the members there and made the choice to give it a shot...now I just need to save a bit for the tuition and go from there. I will blog every so often on how it is going. not to mention posts to TWC.
My nose is dripping something horrid and I just ran out of Kleenex so I will have to call it a night.
Happy Writing!

Preffered list
Current mood: blah
Category: Writing and Poetry
Well, since there is no one on that list at the moment...kinda silly that one of my blogs would end up preffered readers only....back to normal setting.
This is going to be a short blog. I just finished reading Merecedes Lackey's book Aerie from the Dragon Jousters Series. I liked it but I think it could have been better. She must have had deadlines screaming at her and other books on her mind at the time.
Just started reading I am Legend by Richard Matheson. I am only on chapter 2 but the way he keeps using the characters full name is a bit nerve racking. I guess it is due to all the writing advise I have been reading lately.
I plan on gathering up the novels of my fellow writers that are on my list. I already have the collection started with Lord Wizard by Rich Hurd. Hope you had a good visit Rich.
I plan on getting The Calm before the Storm by my bud Joe Lawson and Luthial's Song by Robert Marston Fanney first. They have been on my list for a very long time and been very supportive of my writing. They deserve my $$ and support!
I still need to pick up Lick of Frost by Laurell K. Hamilton. it came out last month and I missed getting out to the signing she did in Seattle. I had to work. I was a big bummer because I was spose to have the time of but they asked it I could come in. I said yes forgetting that I wanted to go to Seattle for the signing. Doh!
Well, at least I am trying to keep everyone up to date somehow. Gotta be to work at 4 am...I really dont get paid enough for that kind of torture! Well, I better write a bestseller then!

Getting back to writing.
Current mood: sleepy
Category: Writing and Poetry
I think things are settling down enough that I can get back to the books I have on hold. FMS (Full Moon Station) has been on my mind a lot lately and I think it is getting to the point where things will start to flow onto the page like they did for the first part. Sunrise is still do for it's makeover but the longer I take to think about the stroy the better it is going to be. I have half the book written already. The next half and the rewrite are going to be amazing. Charlie is really starting to get her own voice going and not sound so much like Anita and Merry. I love Laurell and am upset I agreed to work on Friday so that I couldnt go see her on the 1st. Ah well shit happens. I will see her one of these day. Heck, why not go all the way and say that we will be panel partners at some Con one day! YEAH!! Gotta buy another copy of Guilty Pleasures. I have some girls at work that read stuff like what Laurell writes that have never heard of her...Can you belive that? She is the mother of sexy horror fantasy and they have never heard of her....I am in shock. But, I need to buy another copy because I am tired of losing the ones I have! I had every book in the Anita series and now I have maybe three. I loaned them out then never saw tham again. Sigh...another person turned.
For those of you who look forward to my rambles, I am sorry I have not been around much. I am not sure if I will be able to do more that pop in here once a week. I want to spend all my extra time with the boys and writing. I will do my best not to leave you all hanging!

Life takes a dive
Category: Writing and Poetry
Migranes really suck. I got hit with one of the worst I have had in a long time. I was suppose to be at work this morning at 5am. Yeah right. I had to call in due to lack of sleep and an inablity to see past the end of my own nose. My head HURT! I managed to take enough tylonol not to kill me and yet kill the pain. Why didnt I just go get some medicine? Couldnt...no $. My parents took pitty on me and loaned me a few bucks to get Excedrine Migrane and put that headache on the run. I should be good now as long as I can catch the headache. I wonder if it is something at Joanns that does it? I didnt start getting them until I started working there, then when I quit they slowly went away..now I am back at Joanns and BAM! A week into working and I get hit with another horrid headache.
I will have to go talk to my doc and find out. Mean while...Excedrin in my pocket!

Wool Gathering and Music
Category: Writing and Poetry
I guess wool gathering is what old people would call it heh. I am getting back into the swing of things at Joanns and I think by the end of the week I should be doing pretty well. I thought it was going to take a larger toll on my energy, but I feel better and more eager to write.
Today I had the time to think about the way that Sunrise is going and what I would like to see from the book. I need to find some time to do gun research. I dont know much of anything about guns. I guess I can call my brother in law and ask him. He is a hunter out in MN and has a few of his own. My husband is a shooter....of camaras. Not a killer is my man. Me....Thumper didnt make it.
My cousin is also a police officer so I need to get his number and pick his brain as to procedure! I have no idea how to get a hold of him though..will have to ask my mom...
Tonight Jess and I put together a playlist of music for me to write to. I agree with Laurell that some days are NiN days...I also have a great collection of Yanni and Enya with a bit of Faith no More and a mix bag of country artists....Craig Morgan, Josh Turner (I LOVE this mans voice) and had to have the Johnny cash version of 'Hurt'..If you have not heard this song yet I urge you to look it up and take a listen.

Busy, busy, busy!
Current mood: exhausted
Category: Blogging
I started wok back at Joanns at 5am. It was a very long day. We moved shelves....LOTS of shelves. I didnt have much brain to think about books or writing. I spent the day getting to know the people I am working with and showing them I am not a complete NEWB. Which has most of the SUpervisors happy.
It is 10:30 and I need to hit the shower and then try and get some sleep before starting the grind all over again at 7am. Just wanted to pop in and let yall know that I may not say much until things get into a rythem.

Meeting Myth.
Category: Writing and Poetry
Today was crazy! Author Rich Hurd of The Mythosian Chronicals came over for lunch today. I was expecting another writer friend from a writers group to show up as well but he never made it.
The whole day started off badly. The baby woke up screaming at about 3:30 am. We played stubborn wars for 2 hours trying to get him to go back to bed when he really didnt want to! I finally gave up and gave in and took him into my room where he fell right to sleep.
I finally woke up and started getting things together at about 9. I already had all the food in the fridge and just needed to wash the dishes and take a shower. I thought I had at least until 12 before I had to hurry.
I voted for shower first. Well, there I was getting the conditioner out of my hair when my 7 year old knocks on the door. "Mom...mumble mumble" I couldnt hear a word he said so I poke my nose around the shower curtain and told him to open the door and tell me what he was saying. The door opens a crack and I hear "Mom, the company is here."
HOLY CRAP! What was even worse is that my husband had hopped into the shower with me. (no we actually were not trying to make baby number 6) Gabe is old enough to keep the little ones out of trouble for a few minutes it takes to take a shower.
I scrambled. I dont think I have gotten dressed that fast in a long time.
The first thing I said was..."Welcome to my life!"
Other than that we had a great visit! Jess and Rich talked Navy for the first little bit of the visit while I finished up the dishes and got things ready for lunch. Then we talked books and myspace the rest of the time.
I got to see the presentation he has for the library signings and heard about a few of the ones he has done. I learned a great deal about how Authorhouse works. We talked about his next steps as an author and my dreams of getting to where he is now!
I have brand new copies of Lord Wizard Chronicals and Cat Chronicals that Rich signed and I gave him a signed printed copy of Full Moon Station since I dont have anything in book form. Full Moon will most likely be the first thing I send out to get published as it is the best of the works I have in progress so far.
I cant wait to finish reading these and started in on Lord Wizard as soon as Rich left. Anyone who has ever daydreamed will be able to relate to Lord Wizard.
I am even more excited to get one of these manuscripts completed so I can plan my visit to his place on the east coast!
I was so bumed to hear of the troubles he has been having with his agent. I had gone out a couple of times to just see about getting him some signings...but was not as prepared as I could have been. He had said not to worry because his agent was taking care of all of that. Next time he gets out this way I think I can do a better job of getting him a few things lined up, if he would like.
Rich is off to the NWSFS Social that starts at 5. We went over his directions from here and I hope he gets the chance to stop by again before he heads back home. The kids had started watching Transformers and Rich said he has not seen the whole thing. I told him it was worth it. (Rich come back by and we can have a movie visit and you can see the whole thing!)
