Childhood’s End, A Tribute to Arthur C. Clarke
Current mood: adventurous
This is the youtube site for Childhood's End, A Tribute to Arthur C. Clarke.
I seen, behind the scenes, some of Steve Ballard's work in relation to this. Any luck, Steve will grace us his work in conjunction to the tribute CD(s).
I sort of am counting on any of the "Stars" on the CD that may have some video, that they might want to put on the youtube for the CD, will check out that link and submit.
I am so far behind on my stuff, do not count on a video from me for little while to come. I have some ideas of course but no time and even little skill to make it so right now.
All sites are a work in progress, nada is done to any degree of perfection or much other than default. Any help is welcomed.

Well, this is the second day since I added the two applications to display a quote from Buddha, Confucius and Einstein. Random they are but yet they seem to synch up. Check them out, watch them and see what I am talking about.

Do go there, add yourself as a friend.
I am in need of a myspace expert who can take this site and make it into a fine tribute site.
This is one of the main places for all who added tracks to post their links, blogs, comments and such. http://acc.alienearmusic.com is the main web site

Quick update and mostly about music
Current mood: determined
Category: Music
Quick update
Childhood's End, A Tribute to Arthur C. Clarke, in progress.
Beowulf and Gilgamesh in progress too.
Recording sound tracks for a TV show, in progress
I got old Van that needs to be smogged so the City of Palmdale will get off my back. Old van (78 Ford E200) is used for hauling
massive amount of music stuff to gigs. Not in use and registered no-op to the state of California however,
Palmdale wants a bit more. Heck it even has insurance on and it is not even drivable in today's world of
$5.00 a gallon gas. Not to mention, I have to make it run again. ;-) I will be calling the old Gods to bring it back to life
for one more run to the smog station. btw, not the same Gods I deal with daily for computers and such.
I have a new order for CDs for the "Space Elevator" going in. All for PR.
Sales of the CD, physical, have all but died out but
radio and TV/Film types want a physical CD in most cases.
Downloads are still going strong for the "Space Elevator". THANK YOU to every one !!! So if you want to get a CD,
CD Baby and Music Forte are the places right now. Amazon has some too I hear. Or, email me. I do not plan on
restocking those three places listed above due to no demand for the physical but I will have in the studio for a little while
till I send them all out !!! btw, each time I do a order, I change the CD a little bit. ;-)
Lorraine is busy like a bee, 5th July, Crestline Ca gig, estimated 22,000 people for her to play too. Oh yea, I have been
goat roped into running sound for them and a few other bands. Did they ask me to play? Oh well, such it is.
But ... I have a plan ... ;-)
Well, there you got it, a quick up date.

Current mood: busy
Category: Life
Lets, see, worked my tail off last week in Memphis. Got most of what I was there for done. Very hot, well humid. I figure I lost about 20 lbs in water/sweat.
Will be a few days before I catch up with all email and other things here.
Memphis?, it has been at least 7 years since I was there last, over 10 before that. I spent the first 21 years of my life in Memphis or in that area. Things have changed and some still the same. I noted a whole lot of positive things going on there or maybe I was just jaded and too busy. No matter, I prefer positive over negative anyway.
I had the great opportunity to see the Young Guns in action live. A group of young music types who I been helping get stuff over the last few years. You can catch them on my youtube under Future Rock Stars. They are very good on the guitars and check this out, they put a lot of hard work into what they do. Was very fresh seeing young music types really working hard. Puts many a grown adult in my area to shame, yes, they are that good. I do not think the videos convey the live as much as I watch them play with a compare. Still worth a look and check for most.
What else in Memphis, hum, I had a great time. Did a few visits to relatives there, ate some of the most fresh catfish I ever had in years. BBQ of course, did a visit to Bosco's and generally as mentioned, work my tail off during the day.
I did some scouting for places to play live, well things I do. It is not that many but maybe I will bend some blues into some EM done IB's style and show up on Beal Street? One never knows what I may pull in from the other side to muse my synths. Plenty in Memphis just hanging out waiting to return to the world of the living for a few bars more of music.
Ok, just to make sure you catch the drift on that last hint, bars as in 12 bar, synths as in I have something up my sleeve, been there a while, just the style I will do on it is in that vein. Something done for Beowulf side of the album.
Sad note but will happen to all of us. http://www.bo-diddley.com/ Bo passed away while I was in Memphis. I guess that is fitting considering his style of music. I had meet him a few times while he was performing in my area. My wife is good friend of his Bass player. Sad I am and he will be missed.
When I was very young, I lived behind Graceland (a block or two in that area). So if you was to ask me, well did you go to or drive by ... no, not this time. I know it has changed a lot since I remember and I perfer to keep my memory as it was, not as it is today. I will happy be in "the nile" on how it is today.
I did do the cruise past Sun and Styx. Gibson I drove by too, it's near Sun so why not, considering I have one very special Les Paul I use with my synths.
How was the trip? 4 controlled crash landings .. shall I say more?

For your Pleasure
Current mood: adventurous
Category: Music
For all our fans and those who just like to tune in, a new track is in the player. A snip of 1:30 of a 5:22 or so track. Yep, it is very hard for me to work music in that short of a time frame but there it is. This track will be on the Arthur C. Clarke Tribute CD, Childhoods End and on the album Beowulf. I assure you, the whole track moves just as much as this snip.
I have been told by a good bird in my ear, this track will also be featured on a pilot TV Series, something with a 10 year plan run.
Please give me some comments on what you hear, what you like and what you think about it. Good or bad, I want to hear from those who listen to what I do. Feed me.

btw, the main web site, http://www.inquisitorbetrayer.com has the new pages up with a snip of the same track playing in the background. Please do read the story line for Beowulf, follow the Beowulf link.

Music Business (101)
Current mood: knighted
Category: Music
This more about music business and being a band than much more.
Have you ever noticed, some bands or music types will put in the little field, "sounds like" with all the influence they have or have been told they sound like? Follow up on a few and they do not do that. Example, some will say, sounds like "The White Stripes". Go to "The White Stripes" myspace, http://www.myspace.com/thewhitestripes do they have the "sounds like" filled out?
Lets move a bit further, the fans. Ever noticed that some bands gets a lot of comments, very cool suggestions and praise. Then follow up on the person commenting, check out the favorite band, you do not see that band they just commented mention. Sometimes, the list is so different you start to wonder, is this the same person who just wrote ...?
Bands, esp. Indies, live by word of mouth. Fans are hard to come by and keep interested in what they do. Rare they are. Why? Well Indies have to fight each day to be heard, seen or even looked upon as something useful. It's a two edge thing. At the same time they are marketing themselves, the fans also need to be helping in raising that flag.
Indies who put in every band or sound they think they sound like or have been told, are not really marketing the way the same people they point out. In fact most of those people got to where they are due to big labels or being signed. You do hear them on the radio right? Hear them in the movies and so on. Sure it does not hurt to mention a few or give respect to a few but I have seen long lists. If you do not praise yourself or point out what makes you special, you will go the way side.
Fans, support your indies. Put on your page, who your favorites are. Give good comments, praise, stroke that ego of that indie. Entice them to do more music. Keep the fires going, feed them. If you got a bunch, rotate them, make mention in your blogs, post some of their music on your site. Keep those indies alive.

quick update
Current mood: cheerful
Category: Music
Arthur C. Clarke Tribute CD, Childhoods End, in the works.
Plenty to do on my end.
Lorraine's projects, plenty to do on my end.
Was under the weather last week, Lorraine was too. We spent our time off, resting.
Next week, first week of June, I'll be in Memphis, TN. Wish it was on music purpose but day job calls. I'll be there most of the week taking care of business. I spent the almost all of the first 21 years of my life in that area, I think I will be able to hang a few days back there.
Beowulf and Gilgamesh, in the works too. I am trying out some tricky things and ideas to express on these CDs. Rounding up people to work on them, well that is always tricky and hard. Very hard. I am after some very special, period instrument sound for some high lights.
Video, well I am 110% amazed how many times it has been viewed. I got a few comments on it. Real thankful and happy many did like it. I will have a few more, in fact I have many hours of material to edit down to fit into some tracks now. I have to get the nack of re-synching it all back up once it is apart in that way. Clever it is and well as much time to clean up. I have my eye on a new piece of tech to get animated items off the computer screen and onto the film editing board. Once I get that, I think many will fully get into the music and video. Does sound come in colors? you bet it does !
