New Post
Current mood: fabulous
Category: Blogging
Hey all! I'm just stopping in here for a bit to let all of you Fibro And Fabulous readers know that there's a new post. This one is about a new study they've done on raw veggies and how the effects of the diet can help with pain. I like raw veggies-- don't get me wrong, but I like meat too-- so you can read my take on it.
I hope everyone who is here in New England gets a chance to see the leaves change this weekend. We plan on going for a ride to see them because they are just starting to change around here and it's just so pretty. Hope you all have a fabulous weekend.
Love and friendship,
Kimberley

As promised...some great news
Current mood: grateful
Category: Blogging
I promised all of you that I'd post some great news once everything became official. Well, it was official as of yesterday evening so I'm going to let the cat of the bag-- so to speak-- for all you BEFORE this gets released to the press. Yours truly has been awarded Top Health Blogger by Wellsphere.com for my efforts in helping Fibromyalgia sufferers live healthier lives with the blog Fibro And Fabulous! I'm very honored by this and I hope that you all get a chance to check out Wellsphere for yourself. Wellsphere has built the largest and highest quality network of over 1400 of the leading health and healthy living bloggers on the net today. Dr. Geoff Rutledge is the Chief Medical Information Officer for the site and he has practiced Internal and Emergency medicine for over 25 years at Harvard and Stanford medical schools. I will be a featured blogger for their Fibromyalgia community and I'll be able to reach millions of Wellsphere users with my Fibro And Fabulous blog.
It is a great honor to be able to do that and I have all of you to thank for it. If it wasn't for all of you reading my blog here and believing in me, I probably wouldn't be writing on Wellsphere right now. I want to thank each and everyone of you for stopping by my blogs and reading my articles and books because your continued support has kept me going-- even on my bad days-- and that's really special to me. Thanks so much for all of your love! Hope you are all fabulous.
Love and friendship, Kimberley

Some officially unofficial news
Current mood: tired
Category: Blogging
I just wanted to let everyone here know that I've posted a new entry to Fibro and Fabulous. This one is on pregnancy and is a bit of a tease for all of you because a lot of what I have in this post will be going into my new book on Fibromyalgia and pregnancy. It is be no means out in the public yet and I'm really just getting started because I want to collect more data. But I have a feeling that this book will be like the other two-- it will very hard to find information because the syndrome is still considered too new.
I also want everyone to know that I will have some wonderful news to share with all of you in the very near future about a new venture I will be participating in. The details are not finalized so I can't make an official announcement yet, but my Myspace readers will be the second to know. The first people to know will be the ones who have signed up for my newsletter. I don't send many of those out-- maybe 4 a year-- so if you'd like to sign up for that, just drop my website and leave your email address and I'll be sure to add you.
Also-- I just want to remind all of you that I'm still holding that contest for my commenters-- so leave a comment on my Fibro and Fabulous blog if you want a Kimberley original.
I hope you are all well and fabulous!
Love and friendship,
Kimberley

What make me tick?
Current mood: sad
Category: Blogging
I'm listening to Barry right now "Weekend In New England" and that's my life. Barry helps me through when people can't. The story doesn't stop... with that song it stays. And that's the song. You can make it your friend, your lover, your wife, your mom. your lover, whatever-- it doesn't end "until I hold you again."
That's why I remember and love Barry Manilow.

Today’s post:Stress Busters
Current mood: animated
Category: Blogging
Just in here to announce that I've posted another entry to Fibro and Fabulous blog for anyone who is following National Invisible Illness Awareness Week.
I would have posted one yesterday, but my 8 month old daughter was a bit clingy because she's teething. It really worked out for the best because it gave me some time to relax and get rid of some stress. And that's the topic for today, Stress Busters. So I hope you all enjoy and stay fabulous.
Love and friendship,
Kimberley

As I mentioned in yesterday's blog post, I have a surprise for all of my Fibro and Fabulous readers. In honor of National Invisible Illness Awareness Week, I'll be giving away two autographed copies of The Fibro Hand and two copies of Fibromyalgia and Sex Can Be A Pain In The Neck...and back and shoulders to the lucky blog commenters 25, 50, 75, and 100.
If you want to win, all you have to do is start leaving comments on my Fibro and Fabulousblog and as soon as I tally the results, I'll announce the winners! The comment count is only valid on the Fibro and Fabulous blog, so if you comment on here in Myspace, it will not be counted in the comment tally. So make sure you leave them there.
Hope you are all well and fabulous!

Invisible Illness Week
Current mood: caffinated
Category: caffinated Blogging
As most of you know, I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in late 2005 and have tried to be the best source of information I possibly can for others who have this debilitating condition. I have always tried to remain positive about myself and my symptoms so I can better help myself and others. Of course, that can be hard on some days because I'm human like everyone else and I wind up having a bad flare on some days.
Most people who look at me wouldn't be able to tell that I am in pain all day every day. I must admit that somehow I take pride in that-- maybe it's because I'd gotten really good at hiding the pain. Grinning and bearing the pain was just a common thing I did at work for 18 years and that's why a lot of people there had no idea why I quit or why I "all of the sudden" seemed to walk with a limp. My pain looked like it was invisible, and invisible it is to everyone sometimes, but me.
I know part of that is my fault, but some of the blame needs to be directed to the doctors who don't believe that 6-12 million Americans (and counting) suffer from some form of Fibromyalgia or Chronic Fatigue. And of course, there's those well meaninged people in your life that think you should get more sun, vitamins, food, or excercise in your life to get better-- because after all, that's all you need. Yes, there is blame in a few places, but really a lot of that blame can be avoided if people just became aware of the syndrome by getting to know someone who has it. And September will be the month you can do that!
During the week of September 8-14, InvisibleIllness.com will be featuring and hosting bloggers from all over who have invisible illnesses and I will be involoved by blogging about Fibromyalgia.
I must admit that it never really dawned on me to dedicate a blog to my syndrome which when I think about it is pretty silly since I wrote two books on the subject lol! But now I will be doing just that!
Please don't think that I'm leaving Myspace. If any of know my husband, you may have thought that I would since he has sadly done so. No, I like Myspace and all of my friends here and I'll still be posting blogs here. However, I will also be posting blogs about my life with Fibromyalgia at FibroAndFabulous as well. So I hope you all get a chance to come on over and say hi to me there. And I hope you decide to check out Invisible Illness Awareness Week and support as many bloggers as you can there too. Not all of them will be blogging about Fibromyalgia-- there are a ton of other invisible diseases and illnesses that deserve attention too and these will also be featured. Should be a great week (and month) ahead.
Hope each and everyone of you are well and take care of yourselves!
Love and friendship,
Kimberley

A thought I’ve been pondering
Category: Blogging
I love reading other people's blogs. It's fun to see what other people are thinking and feeling regardless of who they are. I don't have a whole lot of time to always do this with all of my friends here on myspace, but please know that I check on each and everyone of your profiles, blogs, and updates every chance that I get.
I was reading one tonight that struck a very personal cord with me. The person wanted my take on why things can be tricky and yet difficult. That kind of took me aback because of the week I've had.
Tricky can mean so many things when it involves someone you love. If you truly and unconditionally love them, sometimes you have to make tough decisions when it comes to them and others involved. Anyone who has a family probably does this automatically on a daily basis when it comes to your kids, but how many of you have had to make a decision involving your folks and your kids?
That's when it can be difficult. It's a hard thing when you have a parent who's ill and you have children that are young because you don't want your kids or parents upset with anything that is going on. Sure kids should see that people get sick and age, but at what expense?
A difficult thing can be hard on everyone, but the hardest thing is that a descision may not be difficult for you to make, but hard on someone else and that can sting for a long time.
I'd sit on a fence if I could with the decision I have to make, but that won't help, and I've never been one to sit on a fence because I don't like splinters.
Sorry for being so vauge, but with the people involved, I have to be until there comes a time that I don't have to. It is for this reason that I may lock my blogs to friends only. Not sure about that just yet. Hope you all are well and taking care of yourselves and I'll chat with you soon!
Love and friendship,
Kimberley

Cool News in the Hot Summer
Current mood: awake
Category: Blogging
Yesterday started out like any other day. I got up, sucked down a cup of coffee, got dressed, picked up my Mom, feed the kids and cats, did the dishes, cooked, and watered the plants all before 11 am.
And then I started to read my emails and found a pleasant surprise. I recently came into contact with a fellow writer that has a few awesome articles at a site I write for on occasion. We have been sharing our articles with each other for about a month now and he just emailed me to let me know that I will be a featured writer this week on his website. I was humbled and taken aback by this because it's just such a sweet jesture on his part.
So I'd of course like to return the favor to him and ask that all of you who read my blogs to please check out his site and leave a comment or two. And while you are at it, you can check out my featured page there too.
I hope all of you are well and I hope to chat with you all soon!
Love and friendship,
Kimberley
