New Show- workshop featuring Ivers, Carroll, & Adzima
Current mood: excited
Category: Podcast
My current show features Liz Carroll, Eileen Ivers, & Charlene Adzima presenting a fiddle workshop at the Cleveland Irish Cultural Festival July 2008.
You don't have to be a fiddler to enjoy listening to this workshop! A fascinating presentation full of ad lib discussion between three very talented fiddlers about their beginnings in Irish music, how the music has changed, composing, and more! Thank you so much to Josh Michaels for recording the actual workshop, and to Liz, Eileen and Charlene for permitting me to play it.
Also featured are "The Initiation Reel" from Charlene Adzima's CD "The Initiation," and "Ceisel's Sword / The Monasterydedan Fancy" from Liz Carroll and John Doyle's CD "In Play."

CICF was great!
Current mood: sleepy
Category: Parties and Nightlife
Had a blast at CICF last weekend. It will take time to process it all. Unfortunately I was without a camera! Mine died... no boo hoos requested, I am well blessed. But it will take a few months before I have a new one, as I want a decent one.
Luckily I have great friends who are also good with a lens. Keep an eye out for Pics by Lee, of course. Mark and Jeff there. And then there was Donna- she sent me her flickr stream already, which as quite a few good ones! I'll post a link to hers once I verify it's ok.
Keep an ear out for an upcoming show featuring bands of the Dublin Irish Festival. The next show AFTER that will be a special surprise recorded this past weekend at CICF- a real treat!
No Rock Stage VIP seating this year- not enough takers- but I'll see you near the stages anyway!

Celtic Rock Club Seats in Dublin this Year?
Current mood: excited
Category: Parties and Nightlife
Well,
The Celtic Rock stage is offering "loge" seats again this year. I wasn't going to do it, but the festival committee called to see if I would...
So I'm just testing the waters for interest. This year the tickets would be for all day Saturday. They have put premier restroom facilities and a private bar right within the Celtic Rock Club area this year so you never need to leave the area. Snack foods (like chips and pretzels) and bottled water are free and unlimited in the area. Everyone gets 4 beverage tokens and tickets to the festival with your Rock Club pass... together an $18 value. There should be a basket of free goodies to give away this year too. (Those who sat in the area last year remember... everything from cooling bandanas to free CDs...)
The bands featured on Saturday are:
Roger Drawdy Rathkeltair Bad Haggis Scythian Seanchai & The Unity Squad Neck Prodigals Brother
A space for 20 people is $1500 this year, which works out to $75 a person. I can't afford to front the money or leave any seats unsold this year. If I hear back from enough people to sell 18 tickets by this Friday, (July 18,) I'll call the festival committee back to hold the space. BUT I'd have to have everyone's money in hand by the following week (Sat July 26) in order to pay for the space and have all your tickets back out to all of you in time.
So, please let me know ASAP if you are interested!
Thanks
Wendy
