So in the current cover story in Billboard magazine I've found my favorite quote ever. Its funny to me to read how many people from however many companies have weighed in on why they think we've managed to sell so many albums. There's even a bar graph at the end! It's almost like a PowerPoint presentation such as those given in corporate boardrooms across the nation every day. While I thoroughly enjoyed reading the article and imagining them all scratching their heads while vying to take some of the credit for our hard-fought success using phrases like "surgical strategies" and "efficiency and effectiveness" - (if they were so fucking efficient and effective surely we'd be getting our checks a lot quicker) - it was the quote near the very end that got me laughing hysterically. A person at a certain company, in her infinite wisdom, has stated very specifically that - "They're not going away for another TWO years." Haha! I'm not yet sure what's supposed to happen after those two years are up. Maybe we're all meant to turn into pumpkins or perhaps we'll all simply go back to eating Top Ramen off the toilet and suckin on shit sandwiches. In any case, I thought I'd post a lil' countdown reminder for all of you playing the home game, so here you go.
