I actually got in an argument the other day with some older guy at Rue about how he thought New Orleans was shitty, and he complained about every little thing. I asked him where he was from, and he said Little Rock. I laughed.

halloween 2006

halloween is my favorite everything! i'm looking for pictures, because that night, i was a fucking celebrity. i was jeffrey from project runway, nearly perfect. so send me some pictures. two girls i ran into thought that i was actually him. and then they were disappointed. i really want to start a halloween II, the last saturday of every april. help me with this. here's a video:

okay, so i did go to georgia to get that datsun, and it was awesome, and i did drive it, and the guy showing it to us didnt have it titled in his name, so i couldnt buy it. and after a month of talking to him, he somehow could not find his uncle whos name the car was titled in. damnit! it was so beautiful. fuck fuckity fuck.

so i've been building a portable 8-bit nes system, but two days ago, i connected a few wires wrong and fried a $130 monitor. damnit. so it goes.

i'm reading confederacy of dunces again, for the trillionth time. i couldnt find my first copy (when i cant find something i used to have, i think "oh yeah, lakeview", and then blame holly or weed or martin or a horrible fate). so i had to pick up another copy. and its as wonderful as ever. favorite book of all time.

i used to rate my favorite albums of the year, but this year, i dont know, slim pickins. maybe because i'm older and music doesnt have the same importance as it used to. so far, my favorite thing this year has been stephin merritt's "showtunes" album. a gay songwriter's collection of showtunes. what does that say about me. a funny story is that two weeks ago, i mentioned to a rue customer regular that i found a certain girl highly attractive, and she said that she had thought that i was gay. to prove to her that i wasnt, i mentioned what i had done earlier in the day: eaten veal cutlets at my mother's house. checkmate.

okay, so i gotta finish off this bottle of wine (okay, im done), but okay. but okay.

sometimes there's so much sexiness in the world, i feel like i can't take it...

-after a random comment at molly's a couple weeks ago, i realized that a substantial number of people hate me. even people that i have never hung out with or talked to. so if you dislike me, let me know why. i dont care if it is for a good reason, i just would like to know why. i mean, i could understand why a few people might dislike me, but some of the people mentioned in our mollys conversation, i dont even know them. maybe thats just the city, i dont know, maybe its just my body language. honestly, i dont lose sleep over it, its just strange, i'm just curious. i stopped going out to bars two months ago not because i'm depressed, as some have suggested, but because it was boring and i'm saving up money for a datsun.

-ebay is paying the bills. made $300 this week on some records i never listen to anymore.

2. alright, this is fucking nerdy, but tonight, thursday night, we're having a starcraft party at my house. if you dont know, starcraft is a computer game that came out nearly a decade ago, and people still play it all the time. so if you want to play, tonight, starcraft LAN throwdown! party like its 1998! god this sounds lame. but five people have already signed up. so, haha, enjoy yr 80s night, we're going to be playing video games. zerg rush, motherfucker. i'll shut up.

i climb my fences one by one

01. i cannot correctly state the importance of good headphones. i just got a nice $100 pair. changes the world. i believe that i've had them on for at least 6 hours today. how did i get them? i got that MusicCares money, $1000 free from musician's friend. new keyboard, pedals, amp, speakers, harddrive, turntable needle, etc, etc, etc. insane.

02. i went to the saint last night, and when i walked in, they had wonder showzen on the tv, with the sound playing in the bar, jukebox off. normally, for any other show, this would be upsetting, but for this show, it was wonderful.

03. okay, the new cursive, if you havent heard it yet, get ready. it comes out in a few months, and its my favorite album so far this year. no cello player, unfortunately, but lucky replaced by a brass section.

04. the saved by the bell drinking game. whenever mr belding walks in a room and says "hey, hey, hey, whats going on here?", take a shot. ridiculous.

05. rue work is fine. matt and jude just got fired, which is stupid and really sucks, but thats rue work. i honestly cannot believe that i've lasted as long as i have.

06. okay. sleepy.
