The promise of a summer cure

Ive been trying to wean myself off it but must confess I am one of those sad people that lives by their blackberry.  Its becomes an extension of your persona, you become ruled by the alerting chirp of an incoming email/text or call, reaching and scrolling the wheel without consciously monitoring the movement.  Its never turned off, it goes everywhere with you, into the bathroom, the car, the gym and even the bedroom, Ive been known to interrupt sex to respond to my masters voice !  It must be like reaching for a cigarette for an addicted smoker, void of any conscious desire just another subliminal impulse from the brain like blinking.

So I am concerned to discovery that myspace may have a similar worrying undertones.  When at my desk, I find myself subconsciously checking the site picking up messages, reading blogs, and whats really concerning divulging dark secrets to complete strangers that have become friends.  I felt a sense of bereavement when two prolific bloggers checked into rehab the other day -  Im guessing there are already support groups for this ailment.   

Perhaps this has all come to a head at the perfect time of the year, a laptop on a nudist beach seems over dressed, and a blackberry at the pool slightly vulgar. God seems to have administered his own cure the summer lets take the treatment gratefully, and enjoy the restorative effects.

A hug is a powerful drug .....

Ive decided its about time I lost my blog virginity.

Its just after 5am and Im fiddling on my PC, but Im quite sure there are more exciting things I could be doing in the small hours  (suggestions on a postcard please). I just received a message which closed ... so what are you doing up so late/early good point what am I doing ??  Its not because I have to rush into work, though I can see the advantages of being a big swinging dick on Wall Street  - nope, and how much porn can you surf ?  Its not the jerkin that makes you blind its the screen Im sure of it, damn where are my glasses anyway. 

I can sleep in cars, restaurants, planes, even standing up but I cant sleep in my bed tonight.

So whats the real reason ...... sadly theres no one in my bed to make me want to lie there.  I really miss the heat of another body, the smell, and the subconscious sleep hug when you just want to hold or be held by someone.  Im a light sleeper and Im pretty much aware of every movement yet those hugs are like a drug they seem to energise the soul and make everything right.

So the solution is clear Ill have to find this hug drug otherwise Im going to have to continue fiddling & looking for my glasses.
