When did the love fall away, and along with it my balls?
I can't remember the last time I made someone I know angry. Nor the last time I was given the boot or spat upon with conviction - I can't remember what it feels like to feel unwanted even. And still I want that. I would like nothing more today than to be ignored. To be spat on. I would love some bad news,
"You've been fired, pack up your stuff and make your way up the hill to that cave over there, the cold one, the one that smells of urine. You will live there alone. For a while we think, enough of a time to taint you anyways. The decision is final, you have been a very bad man - and yes we hate you."
But no.. that would please me too much. They'd be giving me what I want - peace from their coffee and conversations.
Leave it to the party at 8pm to kill me. What with twenty-nine people in chorus, murdering Happy Birthday as my body weeps internally, smiles stretched across my disinterested face scratching at me. Leave it to the cake with twenty-six candles - twenty-six days after you left me. And then I'll remember. Why I hate them so much, and why I'm so good at lying. I'll blow out the candles - they'll clap and cheer. And I'll see your face. For a moment just. But enough of a moment to crush me.
