I just wanted to say thanks to everybody that made it out to the Baby Bar this last Wednesday. That was one of my favorites shows, period. My turntables were knocked over four times. Furthermore, everybody seemed really open-minded about the styles of music being played (Turkish, Tom Jones, rap, disco, 60s psych, etc.) That's a rarity in any city.
Special thanks to Deseure and Charice (I hope I spelled that right) who always get the party started quickly.
back from the Jamie Lidell tour, and resting in the city of Spokane. The tour went well.
Since I was just DJing (opening for a live band!), I was a little nervous at first. I ended up counting down the classics, radio-style. My set was mostly 60s and 70s, with a few oddball 80s tunes thrown in for good measure. The Breeders and the Doors were the big winners of the tour.
I just had my birthday yesterday and I'm laying low until next week. Get ready Canada!
..........
*editors note: Sean Flikke can be seen in the crowd photo.
So, I'm opening for Jamie Lidell at the moment. The crash test dummy from the "Do A Couple Things" video is my tour manager. He's also my brother-in-law. The tour has been a lot of fun so far. I'm counting down the Golden Oldies for my set.
This video is now done. I had a lot of fun making it. I'm not sure what I was eating in the video, but some of it was very good. Some - not so much. This was directed by Ross Harris aka Ross Angeles, who some of you may remember as Joey from Airplane! (My favorite all-time movie).
