GRIOT ENTERPRISES AT WIZARDWORLD CHICAGO ’08

Hey, all.

This year, Griot Enterprises will be sharing a booth with the Illinois Institute of Art - Schaumburg at the WizardWorld Chicago Comic Con this weekend June 26 - 29.

Stop on by to speak to Griot Enterprises CEO Jiba Molei Anderson about his upcoming projects including Hip Hop Chronicles, which will be serialized in Vibe Magazine starting in September. Also, pick up a free 17" X 22" Horsemen poster and register to win the ultra-exclusive, 24-page preview for The Horsemen: The Book of Olorun! All of this is a prelude to the release of The Horsemen Vol. 1 • Divine Intervention graphic novel published by Arcana Comics this fall!

In other news, we're hard at work turning the Horsemen into the next great comic book property. We are about to enter the fray with the aggressive push into the realm of Hollywood and entertainment. To that end, we are putting the final touches on the Horsemen Animated Trailer which, hopefully, will make its debut this weekend at WizardWorld. Yeah, it's been two plus months since the last update. Sue me. Been busy. Busy with:

Hip Hop Chronicles
A three-month preview will be in VIBE MAGAZINE beginning in June with the graphic novel to follow in September. Working on scripts for Vol. 2 as we speak.

The Horsemen
DIVINE INTERVENTION will be in stores late Fall '08 through Arcana Studio. THE BOOK OF OLORUN will be available online as a serial (a la the Heroes online comic) starting in March on XND 1. Once all of the chapters are completed, the graphic novel will follow. We're pushing forward on trying to finance the movie and will keep y'all updated with future developments. Speaking of XND 1...

Not Unless It’s Brand New

Wow. It's been months.

Everything that happened this summer now seems almost irrelevant. I'm kidding, of course. The convention season was excellent. I was able to connect with my friends and colleagues in the industry. Hip Hop Chronicles and The Horsemen generated a lot of buzz, which is always good. As for the bad, unfortunately, Hip Hop Chronicles and The Horsemen will probably not be released on schedule. Both projects' release dates have been pushed back because, basically, the summer was all about making power moves...

...Which have begun to pay off. The biggest news, for Griot Enterprises, is that The Horsemen has a NEW publisher! That's right, moving forward, taking it to the next level! The Horsemen will now be published through Arcana Studios. I'm really excited about this. This is what I have been working towards since Griot's inception. What this means is that The Horsemen will be in more stores across the country and the world. It means that I can concentrate on what I do best, create. And, it means that both books will be in FULL COLOR at prices competitive to the market place! So, we may not be out in September, but when we do come out (hopefully, December '07/January-February '08) it'll be the hottest product on the shelves.

HHC is in final talks for something big, something huge...that I'm not at liberty to say...yet. As soon as I get the go-ahead, y'all gonna know and y'all are gonna be tripping. Here's a hint: The Teacher. I'll be starting work on Vol. 2 within the next couple of weeks as well.

Also, the Horsemen movie inches ever closer to a reality. The next few weeks are going to be crucial. Cross those fingers and hope that we hit the stratosphere.

Oh, one more thing: Jigaboo Devil is coming back! A new collection featuring my first comic book work EVER will be coming soon from B.L.A.M. Comics. This is leading up to the NEW JBD project, Devil Born, which will re-untie the book original team of writer/creator LaMorris Richmond, inker Seitu Heyden, and yours truly on pencils. Keep an eye out for future developments.

Hip Hop ya don't stop!

Here are some advance pages from the Hip Hop Chronicles Preview Book. We'll be unveiling the project at Comic-Con International in San Diego the end of this month. The OGN was written by my good friend Christian Beranek and myself. The book drops in October so order early and often.

HHC Update

Hey, y'all.

Just a quick update, Hip Hop Chronicles has a new publisher. We will now be publishing through Zenoscope Entertainment instead of Top Cow.

Don't worry. Ain't a damn thing changed except location. Come check me out at the Zenoscope booth at the San Diego Comic-Con international and WizardWorld Chicago this summer. I'll be signing preview books and handing out some teasers for The Horsemen: The Book of Olorun.
