Jeaux Janovsky published in Giant Robot Magazine!
Current mood: Giant Robotey
I wanted to let you all know to be on the lookout for Giant Robot Magazine issue 55!!! I was asked to be a part of that issue's comic section!!! Holy Crap!
test film for the HELLBOY episode of Indy Mogul (DIY Filmmaking on the CHEAP), where Erik Beck, the show's creator, makes a sweet replica of the Hellboy gun from the film.
I co-wrote the piece with my pal Ben Ross, and it turned out pretty close to our original idea and script. I'm very proud and honored that Erik asked me to be a part of this. It's very fun, funny, and extremely kick ass, especially if you like the lovechild of gary busey and nick nolte.
;)
I know some of you out there love NARY BOLTE!
So please, watch it, and take the time to comment if you can. email me and let me know what you think.
Wow. Eric Nakamura (publisher of Giant Robot) recently featured a page of my Sketch Doodle Notes on his personal Giant Robot Blog site!!!
If yr too lazy to click on the image above, here's what Eric says of my work: "Look at this drawing by Jeaux Janovsky. Amazing. Bye bye David Choe, king of sketch artists... this dude is pretty good. I'm sure he did some coloring at home, right? Either way, impressive."
Time is a funny thing. What is it, about getting older? We try to chase down our youth thru rabbit holes. All over these swiss cheese brains As time goes on we forget more and more. Is it that we try to cling to our pasts? Certain songs, lyrics can set you off Like emotional time bombs I was fine until I got the bright idea to start downloading albums from my youth Set the trip wire I tripped and fell into a hole A mine field in my head Old loves, old feelings came flooding in I'm happy now Why am I thinking about then? Maybe it's the what could've been Or what could've happened These old songs man They get you Pull you back in I remember thinking these songs were so meaningful back then, and they still are, just in a newer light… I would spend so much time making mixtapes of my soul Each word, lyric, music note were messages and pieces of me How weird and strange and alien it is to listen to them now, with adult ears I miss the people these songs were dedicated to I wonder how they are doing, now that we've gotten older Like what is their life like now? I wonder if they wonder the same… I wonder Memories are funny too. Cause we aren't the same. Time changes you. I'm not the same as I was back then. And all I have are those memories. The good, the bad, either way they are mine I am glad they all happened. I'm glad I hope all is going well with the figures and pivotal people of my past I want them to know I'm doing ok All of you I think about you all from time to time, and cherish the good times All of you Have a good tomorrow Let's enjoy the sunshine It's about time
Waiting for some thin' to break. Left my heart out to bake. Nothing there in my glass. Wasn't air meant to last.
Hope in my past. Hope in my past. Hope in my past. Hope in my past.
All the way down to the lake, (Found the lake was wet). How much more could I take, (Better yet). Walked back home to my place, (Tired of getting high). Guess I don't wanna die.
Hope in my past. Hope in my past. Hope in my past. Hope in my past.
Waiting for some thin' to break. Left my heart out to bake.
Slipped my mind that I could use my brain. I'll stay up all night and crash on the plane.
