Verizon Wireless
Current mood: pissed off
Category: Blogging

I wanted to Block Emails coming to my phone since I'm getting junk messages from the internet email system.  Not from other phone users via TXT messages, but from spammers sending mail to random numbers i.e. 5055551234@verizonwireless.com. And since I don't have the TXT message plan, it costs me $.20 each time.  I went to verizon's website, logged on and tried every option to change it online.  No biggie, just tried it since they seem to prefer online communications.  Went to the "contact us" menu, and called the number.  All automated. The option that says "if you wish to speak with a representive or make changes to your plan, press 2", didn't work. Just brought me to another menu where I had to enter my phone number, last 4 of social, and still nothing. It's all automated with no option to speak to someone.  After going in circles for 20 minutes and realizing there is NO option to speak to someone, I called the sales number.  It's F-in automated as well.  Going through more options and entering all my information again, I actually talked to someone.  Who asked for all my information again and then transfered to "someone who can help."  Yep, another automated system.  Enter my information again, press 1 for english, yadda yadda, all customer reps are busy, please hold...dodododo..  A live person.  Yay.  I ask her how do I speak to someone directly next time.  She gives me the number I called the first time.  I explained that doesn't work.  She says thats the only number. I say never mind and just block the emails so I don't have to keep paying $.20 for each one.  She says she can only block text messages in general and I won't have text messaging with anyone.  No other options.  So, I say do it.  Arggg!  I would change cell phone carriers, but I know they are all the same.  Customer Service is the key to business.  Automated menu services are good for the simple and common things, but when I want to speak to someone, I want to speak to someone, Damn it!  Now I had to waste more time writing this blog to vent, LOL!

Oops
Category: Life

I was tired Sunday night when I got back from camping so I left my ATV in the back of my truck and drove into the garage.  I drove in very slowly because I didn't know if the ATV would hit the top of the garage door.  It didn't.  I unloaded all the camping gear and left the ATV.  Well, Monday after work I decided to unload the ATV.  I have to back the truck out and unload it in the driveway.  So, I start the truck up and backup.  Scrape, pop, crunch!!!  Guess what, with all the camping gear removed, the truck is lighter and sits higher.  LOL!

Children
Category: Life

My friends and I went camping and ATV riding this weekend in the Jemez Mtns.  We had a blast.  Everyone was married with kids, except me.  As we were riding and waiting for the 11 year old to keep up with us, I thought to myself, one day, he's going to be passing us up and waiting for us.  That's when I realized, that if I were to have children today, I would be in my mid-fifties when they would be old enough to pass me riding ATV's.  And in my mid-fifties, would I be riding ATV's as I do today?  Or would I be puttin' around wondering what full throttle was like?  Maybe it's the perfect time to have children because when they are old enough to ride ATV's, I'll be riding at their speed and it won't seem like I'm riding slow to be with them, ha!

Who I'd Like to Meet

Who I'd Like to Meet (for dating)

Assuming there is about 600,000 people in my dating geographic location, I'd say I have a good chance of meeting someone I could date and marry – or do I?  Let's go through some simple requirements and statistics:

Female (50%)                         Leaves 300,000

Within my age range (12%)          Leaves 37,500

Single (20%)                            Leaves 7,500

Available (20%)                       Leaves 1,500

I'm attracted to (20%)              Leaves 300

Mutual Spark (10%)                  Leaves 30

Since I've dated more than 30 people, I'd say I've met everyone at this level and more.  But let me go one step more.

Compatible (10%)                      Leaves 3 people out there that could possibly work.

Since the divorce rate is 60%, that leaves only 1 person to grow old with.

So, if you think you are that ONE person, I sure hope you contact me.

Real Statistics (as of June 2006) -
38% of couples met at work or school.
34% of couples met through family or friends.
13% of couples met at a nightclub, bar, or cafe.
3% of couples met through the internet.
28% of "Baby Boomers" are single.
72% of couples reconnecting with an old flame stay together.
50% of online daters believe in love at first site.

Music Party .1
Current mood: geeky
Category: Parties and Nightlife

Thanks to those who came to the first Music Night party at my house.  I say "first" because I really enjoyed it and I'm sure I'll do it again.  We had great loud music, no complaints from neighbors, snacks, drinking, dancing, and blinking lights - okay Xmas lights.  Now Suz, aren't you glad this "perv" has a pinball machine in the dining room?  So, to those who came, any comments?

To my friends
Current mood: thirsty
Category: Recovering Friends

To my friends who attended the New Year's Eve party - Thanks so much for coming and making it fun.  When I downloaded the pictures from my camera, I was laughing so hard because I don't remember most of the things that the camera captured.  I don't remember being spanked!!  I don't remember dancing!!  I don't remember Suz and Lori getting naked!!

I don't think I was a good host since I had too much to drink.  But hopefully everyone found what they needed and had fun.  Thanks Rick for the drinking game!  Now we have one for the next party.  Thanks Amber for selecting music.  Thanks Suz for cleaning up.  Thanks Reb, Court and Greg for the party hats and noise makers.  Thanks Lori for the champagne.  And thanks to everyone else for making it fun.

But most of all, I was very happy to be with my friends while "ringing" in the New Year.
