Releasing "Finds You In Love"
Current mood: determined
Hello Friends!
It's a Monday, and I'm latched on to my usual triple tall americano just like a baby to their bottle. I can't make it through a Monday at work without strong coffee. And especially today, because I was at my friend Rosie Thomas' wedding shower/party...which went from 3pm-12am. So, I'm a bit hungover (not much really) and fairly sleep-deprived. It was so worth it though. I laughed, I cried, I ate amazing food (thanks to our friend Jesse, who is a professional cook) and I danced the hours away. Ah, the good life.
Moving forward, I wanted to give y'all an update about the release of my new record! After months of sending it out to various labels, we have not gotten any offer for a record deal in the US. However, we've got offers from Japanese and European labels, which I am really really excited about.
Basically, I've had to make a tough decision (well, for me it is tough) to self-release my record in the US. What I've decided to do, is to press an initial 1,000 copies and then just take it from there. Maybe once those sell out (hopefully they do!) a label will come around and want to help us out, or if not, then I will just keep doing it myself, for the love of punk rock and embrace my DIY roots... which dates back to my Tattle Tale days. Once a punk rocker, always a punk rocker (even if I don't dye my hair weird colors anymore and don't have a nose ring).
So, here is my plan: I'm saving up my own money to press the initial 1,000 copies before the end of this year. I'm hoping for a Nov/Dec 2008 release date.
I'm also contemplating releasing the album online, where you can buy single songs or buy the whole album online. I most likely will also do that, for those of you who prefer that route better. Yay! I cannot wait for you guys to hear it! I am so proud of how it turned out and am anxious to hear how you all feel about it!
I'll keep you posted on details as they arrive.
In the meantime, I'm sending you my love and thanks. Your support and your faith in me, means the world.
Hugs, Jen xoxoxo

paitently waiting
Current mood: determined
hello dear friends,
i just want to give you an update on the release of our new record, "finds you in love". as of right now, we've been sending it out to labels and getting feedback along the way. however, we are still waiting for a label to fall in love with our record and take a chance on us (it really wouldn't be that risky to take a chance on us though, considering our musical history!!). there are a few labels that we are talking with, and i'm just hoping and praying that one of them will come through and believe in our music and our songs.
my band and i have worked so fn hard on this album, that i know something good has to happen. i do have faith and i am NOT giving up. in my mind, this is the strongest album i've made so far and yet, it's also the most accesible, meaning that i believe it will be able to speak to a wider audience... not just the indie rockers.
in terms of international support, well, we've already got a record deal in japan... which is awesome. now, all we need is some USA support!
so, if you wanna hear our record and want to get a copy of it in your hands and you want to see us making more records... and music videos yeah... please let us know, tell your friends, send us comments and tell the record labels to sign us and put our record out in 2008! your voice MATTERS and it does make a difference, so say it loud or whisper it softly. either way, it's rally time my friends! so let's make some noise!
keep the faith and keep on truckin'!!!
love & thanx, jen wood

your comments, i love.
Current mood: happy
hi dear friends. i just want to tell you that i really appreciate all of your nice and encouraging comments. every time i read them, it makes me smile and brightens up my day. so, i just want to thank you for doing that. it means a lot to me.
i hope that my record gets signed and relased soon that you all can grab a copy and enjoy it! we're still sending out copies to labels and we're trying to make contact with new labels, which is tough because if you don't know someone at the label then it's pretty tough. but, we ain't giving up!
i am sending you all my love.
warmly, jen wood

"Pills"
"Pills" is the lead track off of "Finds You In Love" (still aiming for a 2008 release!) It features a majestic string arrangement by the one and only Eyvind Kang (Laura Veirs, Blonde Redhead, The Decemberists)!! Enjoy.

New Song!
We are proud to unveil the first song off of Jen Wood's new album, "Finds You In Love", called "Stars Above." We worked extremely hard for over a year and a half on this record, and we are so very proud of how it turned out! Thanks to our producer Shawn Simmons, and Justine Ashby for the beautiful cover artwork. And thank YOU always for your support. The record in its entirety will be released hopefully by this summer. In the mean time, please come and listen to "Stars Above"! Love, Jen, Wolf, Joel, and Tomo

we are in the studio mixing!
Current mood: crazy
hey hey! it's finally happening... we are in the studio this weekend mixing. dudes, we're stoked! today is our second day here. it's been awesome like gustav klimt meets frank lloyd wright or perhaps more like gustav mahler meets john lennon meets joni mitchell and then they... ?
so, the theme i created this weekend is: "taste the rainbow!" or sometime i shout: "TASTY RAINBOW!" oh yeah and "rainbows before ho's!"
um, ok so what else: i've been rockin' the new kayne west album all the time. why you ask? it makes me want to fly sky high! yea. i call it the "kayne-vitamin". for those of you who are haters, you really ought to just listen to his new album all the way through a couple times. seriously, it's good. it's better than anything he has done before.
right now: shza is currently workin' his magic in the contol room. he's brilliant AND funny, like OMG how is that possible!?
alright, well i need to get back into the control room and listen to those wind chimes and flutes! ;)
love to you ALL! and many many thanks!
party on! xo jen xo
