Mich Fest 2008

I'm in the process of learning Final Cut, so I figured that I would use Mich Fest as my guinea pig ------it was really fun filming and playing!!!! I will have another one up hopefully tomorrow----enjoy!!

Vegas Baby!!!

We did it! Marc and I got married in Vegas on Wed.----It was awesome, and in true Vegas style we got married in our bed in our sweet suite!!!!!!! Check out the pictures----I'm gonna continue recovering : ) -----------

NAMM highlights

Namm was awesome ----met so many great musicians, Tony Levin, Verdine White, and Lee Sklar,Jonas Hellborg----thats not even including all the great players I met at the Namm Jam. Marc made a short video for Warwick about Namm----check it out! I will be posting way more video from the Namm Jam, soon : )

Gongzilla's 1st NAMM Jam will be held at the legendary Troubadour club in West Hollywood! GZ will be taking advantage of the NAMM music convention to have a little get together in LA with some of their friends. Delta Nove will kick things off with a slammin' drum set of world-funk.

My philly trio is playing our debut gig on Nov. 20th, the tues. before thanksgiving at Silk City (5th and Spring Garden)-----also playing that night are 2 awesome bands, Kilo and Brass Heaven. Only $5 cover, doors at 9, showtime at 10----it will be a fun night!!!!!

new artists

The KT Tunstall show at Webster Hall was great - her song "Suddenly I See" will definitely be the new single. Her cd was one of the few new artists I've checked out recently.
Admittedly, more than half the music I listen to and buy pre-dates 1980, so I love it when I hear a song that makes me run out and buy the cd that day. Today I'm going to get the cd of Corinne Bailey Rae after listening to the song "Put Your Record On". Hope I won't be disappointed.

getting settled

finally going to give this a shot--It's been a busy spring, but I'm settled now in my new place, after lots of carpet ripping, painting and power tools. Now I'm enjoying my domesticity (is that a word?)- gardening, playing with Maggie and getting good at cooking Cuban food.
The recent gigs have been great, I honestly prefer the smaller stages and love getting to play full sets- you're just getting warmed up after 30-40min. Looking forward to our run of shows later this month- I love playing!!
Also, trying to keep learning-Kristen has inspired me and I'm taking a class in Reason at University of the Arts. Just became a Mac user and moving a little slow-thank God for experts around!
