My first "Anger Blog"
Current mood: bitchy
Category: News and Politics
Okay Talls - you have inspired me...
Everyone, here is my very first anger blog. It's kinda of long: I think I might have gotten a bit carried away, but you know how it is when you're angry...
I have a few complaints with the below article (link at the bottom) and I think you will understand once you read it. (You may want to read it before you read my commentary so you can share in my anger).
First off I am not too pleased with the tag line there before the link for multiple reasons, but I have a bigger problems with the article so I will leave that alone.
Now first off, I would love to meet the writer of this article just so I could put my foot up her? ass.
If I were any one of the many many people effected by Hurricane Katrina I would be offended that this article was even written. This woman is not a hero. This woman is not a symbol of any tragic event other than irresponsibility and self pity. Give me a f***ing break. I dont care how good the picture is.
Being the nice compassionate (but steadily more jaded) person that I am I sort of started to feel slightly bad for her until I got to oh about paragraph 7. Then I just became angry. I dont know why I read anything anymore much less Newsweek.
Hmmm I dont know, Lady... Maybe you should stop feeling bad for yourself and take the money your spending on booze and oh I dont know take care of your kids / work harder on getting a job / finding a place to live. If you dont know what to do with your FEMA checks, I am sure you can find someone else quite litteraly around the corner who could put it to better use!
Next I would like to say yes it is the first anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. And yes we all feel bad and that sucks that the whole thing happened. But the first anniversary was ONE YEAR AGO!!! Stop wallowing in self pity and move on. Rebuild. Do what you gotta do. Nothing is going to get done if everyone sits around blaming everyone else and the president. (Though I must admit I find it entertaining reading about all of the super over priced things certain monies were spent on, instead of helping the people affected (true or not) that is some funny stuff so random).
Some places hit by the storm have already swept their streets and started to get back to normal. Maybe you should too. And media can we just find better news to cover really find a better topic than Hurricane Katrina old news.
She also apparantly didn't seak shelter becasue she was too busy to pay attention to warnings... tell me she didn't have anywhere to go, tell me she was being held against her will, tell me she tried but didn't make it... but don't tell me she didn't have time to pay attention! So when I get hit by a train because I wasn't paying attention, then I am helpless victim of the train??
Did she really need to get a car right away?? And then she was reimbursed for the car when it blew up!! that was completely unrelated to the hurricane! WTF? In that case I want FEMA to reimburse me for my Honda that died 2 years ago. It is not FEMAs fault she bought a shitty car that she probably didnt need with her AID (thats right aid) check. That is her fault.
Next Okay 7 kids! Really?? Get this woman some damn birth control!!! And dont tell me it is too expensive because you can go to Planned Parenthood and get it for free. I know. Ive done it. Again back to the responsibility issue.
SO Ms. Newsweek Writer, explain to me again why you picked this woman for your Symbol.
***************************
Symbol of a Storm - Newsweek President Bush made some bold promises to help the Gulf Coast's poor after Katrina. Too bad he hasn't kept them. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/14533172/site/newsweek/from/ET/

Sorry for being out of touch
Category: Friends
I just wanted to tell everyone sorry for being out of touch the last week or so. I have been down for the count. You always hear the horror stories with Widsom Teeth, but I didn't think it was going to be THAT bad. Well...
My week last week was pretty shitty. I had my wisdom teeth taken out on Friday the 18th. My bottom two teeth were impacted so they had to cut into my bone to remove them. The top two they just pulled. I was so terrified to be put under! I have never had surgery before and have never had anesthesia and I was terrified. Ha! That was the best part of the whole thing.
They didnt give me any antibiotics afterward or leave my teeth packed with gauze and only sent me home with Vicodin and bag of gauze incase I started bleeding again, which I did and then I had to change my own gauze and that hurts (but it helps if you do it when you are on Vicodin).
Needless to say by the end of the weekend I had a bad infection and dry socket in the same place. It was hell. I was so miserable but still determined to go to work. I could not talk at all the first part of the week and it was only by this last Friday I was able to speak well enough to use the phone at work. My face was so swollen I looked like I had a golf ball in my cheek most the week.
Finally I went back in and they gave me antibiotics and dressings. Now I am feeling much better but I still have small infection and I have to keep going in every couple of days to have the dressings changed which really hurts because they jam them in there and pack it down. Friday, it hurt so bad I started sweating and had tears of sheer pain rolling down my cheeks the assistant had to keep dabbing them. It was awful.
I would rather slam my fingers one by one- in a car door rather than go through that again.
Today I went in and it was better. I have to go back on Wednesday. L Everything is taking forever to heal. I am also back on solid foods. I also want to send a special thank you to my roomies and my husband for taking care of me! :)
Best Diet EVER!
