I have a new writing producing partner for film and TV projects are we are jelling wonderfully and I have a great feeling some awesome stuff will be coming out of said partnership which is good cause my prtevious attempt and that was with family ended badly on a professional note but they are still family and always will be.

The Big Move
Category: Life

Well his Wednesday August 13th I move back to GR and start a part-time job the following week. I am also working towards turning a film I wrote into a feature and have an investor out in GR as well

I caught up on Last Comic Standing and I have to say my vote was split between Jeff Dye and Ilisa so im glad she did win. Jeff and Ilisa were the funniest of the group this year. Although I do miss Jay Mohr as host.

R.I.P. Issac "Chef" Hayes and Bernie Mac. You both will be missed dearly.

I hope all my friends on myspace are doing well and will keep in touch

Until Next Time

John

Back to GR
Current mood: focused

With a job pending. I will back in Gr next month. I was in Gr today looking at four apartments. Two actual apartments and two in houses.

I did not like the first place, it smelled and was too small and you couldnt even turn around in it and they wanted 500 for it, NO THANKS!!!The  other three were cool and I am now playing the wait and see game as to if weather or not I get approved.

I am sure at least ONE of them will come through. I will know for sure by Monday July 21st and I will let you all know.

Until Next Time,

John

Interview a- go-go
Category: Jobs, Work, Careers

So I am in Farm Hills, MI looking for jobs and applying on the internet. so far I have sent in about 50 resumes and I have had one interview with SKC Promotions which is a Sports marketing firm in Livonia.

I talked to Erin who runs the front office and asked her if this was a sales job? Erin said no. I then asked if I needed a driver's lisence and car for this job. I told her I dont have one. She said they were not needed.

So I go to the Interview on the 27th and meet Mike. The first thing he says is that we have to go to clients and bring the materials to them. so I said I dont have a car or lisence. Mike then said that would seriously hinder my success here since pay is based on my performance. Well thats strike two. I can't have a job thats strick commison. I told Mike thanks but no thanks. I then told him that Erin said I didnt need an car and this was'nt commission and sales. he did'nt say anything in return.

When I got home I was mad. I feel like I wasted not only my time, but theirs as well. I would not have gone to the interview if i had known all of that at the beginning. So lesson learned: have all facts before accepting an interview.

I still have nearly 50 Aps oput there so hopefully....

On a good note, I put up a playlist on my profile. Check it out!!!

Thats all for now,

John

Award Season Oscars and Indy Spirtit Awards
Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities

Hello all

Now im back in Farmington Hills for a bit and just finished watching the Oscars with my mom and friend, Dave.

All I have to say is Diablo Cody won for her Original Screenplay for JUNO. CONGRATS DIABLO

There were also two surprises. Supporting Actress went to Tilda Swinton for Michael Clayton instead of Cate Blanchet who had been the long standing favorite and had won  both the Golden Globe and Independent Spirit Award,

The other Surprise was that Best Actress didnot go to either Ellen Page for Juno (Dave and I's fav) or Julie Christie for Away From Her, who was the Favorite and won many awards for this role. No folks the award went to Marion  Cotillard for Vie en rose, La. Total shock and it rocked seeing Marion blown area.

The previous evening, Juno was a big winner at the Independent Spirit Awards picking up trophies for Ellen Page (Actress), Diablo Cody (First Time Screenplay) and for Juno as Best Picture

Well thats all for now

John

Random Stuff 1
Current mood: blessed
Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities

Well after about thirteen weeks the WGA and the Producers have come to anagreement on a new 3 year deal. Its set to go to  vote tuesday among WGA members and then Wednesday the writers will be back at work and if u look at tvguide.com you will see an article about what shows will go back into production. http://community.tvguide.com/blog-entry/TVGuide-Editors-Blog/Ausiello-Report/Wga-Strike-Favorite/800032698

Also a good buddy of mine, Jonathan Chase, an actor who you may remember from The final season of One On One and the flick, Another Gay Movie, has a featured role in the new Knight Rider TV film that is a back-door pilot. He plays an FBI agent named Kevin. The show airs this Sunday the 17th at 9pm on NBC. Jonathan, if im wrong on any KR stuff, please email me.

I have been on a comedian kick lately. Kathy Griffin, Stephen Lynch, Dane Cook and Gary Gulman all make me laugh. You can now add, Demetri Martin to that list. Hes hella funny. Check him out.

I also saw episodes of the Whitest Kids U know, its a show on IFC and its sketch comedy at its finest. its also un-edited, so its a free-for all, which I love.

So the Oscars are the 24th of this month and as usual probably will go just like the globes and SAG did as far as winners. Im still gonna watch cause, Im still pulling for Ellen Page for JUNO. Maybe there will be a surprise like there was last year when everyone was calling Eddie Murphy for Supporing in DreamGirls but it went to Alan Arkin for Little Miss Sunshine. Those surprises make my day. So no offense Julie Christie, But Ellen Page all the way!!!

If you Myspacers have IFC dont forget to check out the Independent Spirit Awards on Feb 23rd at 5-715 pm. http://spiritawards.ifc.com/nominees.php

Also Flavor of Love 3 begins tonight, which begs the question, Does Flavvor Flav really want to find love or just mack on 20 women. Its a train wreck for sure, but you can never turn away.

That is all for now. Leave your peace if you must.

John

"HALLOWEEN" Fans

For those of you out there who are fans of the HALLOWEEN series, I have a treat for you.

Old School Pictures which is an indy film company out of Germantown, TN produced TWO versions of HALLOWEEN. One in 1998 which was their first film  and according to them didnt turn out right.

So in Summer 2000 they began production on HALLOWEEN 2000. I just bought the film for 12.00 on DVD from Old School and it is a good ride. It defintley pays omage to the original John Carpenter/Debra Hill production of 78 and offers some good chills.

Here is the review I saw which got me to order it:

Also here is the website of Old School Pictures for more info:

www.oldschoolpictures.net

Also I do have a copy so u could just watch mine if you want and then purchase one.

Thats all

John

Current mood: cheerful

As you may of heard, if not where in the hell have u been

A writer's strike is commencing and all I have to say about that is:

I hope the writers strike until their demands are met. No writers no quality films and TV. They are a necessity. Wake up Hollywood.

R.I.P Tim Steeby
Current mood: sad

I got a call last night I did not expect. A friend called me to say that a friend of Mine Tim Steeby committed suicide earlier that week.

Tim was a great guy and I met him when I lived at The Lofts in Downtown Grand Rapids, MI. Tim always cared about others before himself.

Tim also liked to party. When we were both at the lofts his parties were legendary. People were always coming over and heading up to 610. Tim was so personable that even the most reserved people found the way to his apartment. He always made you feel welcome.

Tim's death has made me appriecate life life more. As readers of my blogs, you will know that a job opportunity has been going slow and that has had me stressed. Well after Tim, I am going to enjoy life and not worry about such things. Life is great and everything works out in the end. Just have paitence.

Thank you Tim for being a good friend and hope you are happy where you are now.
