Channel 4 prog Face of Britain
Current mood: contemplative
Category: Life
Wow! What an amazing programme!
I feel really privileged to have been part of a television programme featuring such a fascinating and well documented study of our Cornish race.
While I believe that people have the right to live where they wish in the world - the Cornish are spread all over after all - it has always been a frustration to me that Cornwall has not been recognised as the Celtic Nation we know it to be. How wonderful to have a conclusive study by Oxford University which proves that the Cornish are indeed a separate race and that we are more closely related to the Welsh celts than to the English. Maybe this will bring us a step closer to that recognition which is righfully ours...
If you missed it, you can catch it online until April 21st at Channel4 on demand.

Current mood: euphoric
Category: euphoric Music
What a gig that was! Trojan Sound System were fabulous and we danced all night!
Towards the end of the gig, I went to the front to watch them close up and was singing along to Could You be Loved when one of the singers pulled me up on stage to sing with them!
Talk about make my night!!

Tv Prog
Hello everyone!
Just to let you know that the Channel 4 series Face of Britain has been put back to Feb 2007.
We're all quite happy about that this end - least we won't be going up against X Factor and Strictly!
Cheers

List of thankyous from the album
Current mood: nostalgic
Here is a list of thankyous to the people involved in this project;
Thankyous
In many respects, this is the most tricky bit of all. There have been so very many people who have encouraged and inspired me to write and perform, from my earliest childhood, right up until the present. If any of you are out there listening to this work of love, then I'd like to say a sincere thankyou. Without your encouragement, I doubt very much this collection of songs would exist at all.
I'd like to focus particularly on thanking the people who are connected to this album. Jilly Hellerman asked me to provide music for a play that her drama group were performing at The Drum, Theatre Royal, Plymouth. When I learned more about the play, I realised that the song that would be ideal was still unrecorded. Dear friends Pete Coyne and Karen Harding put me in touch with Dare Mason of The VIP Lounge, Penzance. We spent 10 hours holed up in his basement studio, while I put down all the parts and then Dare mixed it. The resulting Ev A'm Asas has since been used for a number of film and music projects, including the lovely David Bickley remixes that you can find on this album.
I was so inspired by the results of working with Dare that I wanted to go back and record some more. My kind Husband Simon paid for me record another track, which was Charcoal, or Glowbrenn in Kernewek. Shortly after this, Dare offered to support the project and we began to work on the album. Dare has become increasingly popular as a producer and the studio very busy. This is why we have taken over two years to complete the project. I am delighted with the end result, and pleased that the time it took has allowed for new and fresh compositions, as well as including some old favourites of mine.
A big thankyou to all the guest musicians involved in this project and everyone else who helped out along the way. Special thanks to Trevor White and Marty Willson-Piper who gave their time and talent purely because they liked the music. Also to Spencer and Elsje Smart, for artwork, websites and continuing faith in the dream! Thanks to Becky McLeod and Matt Reid for photos. Thankyou to Mark Turner of 24-7 Management for all the hard work. Finally thanks again to everyone who has taken an interest in this project. Hope it works out for all of us !

photos for album cover
Current mood: artistic
Hello!
You might have noticed that I've posted some photos on a slide show. Basically, went off to the woods with Matt Reid on Saturday and we took a gross of photos!
This is the selection we prefer and we'll choose the album cover from them.
Be interested to hear anyone's opinions on which one to use.
Cheers!
