Seriously?  I am so blessed.  Spent today looking after my two gorgeous children (with much help from Mom and Auntie Meg, of course!) and exchanging sarcastic remarks with my sexy husband.  Even Seamus, our crazy little dog, was a good boy today.  And let's not forget to mention... I got my hair done last night, so obviously life is fantastic.  (NEW HAIR = NEW LIFE!)

Despite the heat and humidity, and despite the complete lack of sleep, I am so happy right now.  Yeah, I feel pretty overwhelmed at times... having a 17 month old and a 4 week old is a little tricky when I'm on my own... but when the kids are asleep and I have a moment to myself it's so easy to see how much God is taking care of me and my family.

All that we need now is to win the lottery, and our life will be complete!  Hehe.  Just kidding.  (But it would be nice to be able to get my hair done every 4-6 weeks.  Right, Mary?)

Lists help me process.
Current mood: sick

Things I am grateful for:

- my new (stainless steel) dishwasher
- clean floors
- a happy son who loves to read and gives me hugs
- a helpful husband who tries to make me happy (and also gives me hugs)
- tylenol cold medicine

Things I am unhappy about:

- seamus peeing on my newly mopped floor
- brownies giving me heartburn
- my large gut
- having no pants that fit

Things I am looking forward to:

- easter dinner at my mom's house
- painting the downstairs two weeks from today
- setting up the new (girly) nursery
- the arrival of maeve

Yay coffee! And... well... yeah, just coffee.

The last few years of my life have made it clear to me that I am quite definitely one of those people who need sunlight and warmth whenever possible.  Winter is great until Christmas is over, and then I find myself in a slump... depressed, lonely, irritable, and tired for three months until Spring finally arrives.

(Of course, I've spent my last two winters as a pregnant lady, so perhaps there's more to the whole irritable and tired thing than just the grey days.)

This last week or so has been exciting for me as the weather started to become slightly warmer, the snow melted, and bright sunlight streamed in through my bedroom windows to wake me up in the morning.  My spirits are lifting, I find it easier to smile, and life is good.

To celebrate the coming of Spring, I thought I might compose a list of some of my FAVORITE Spring things:

-  Dunkin Donuts Iced Coffee

Hmmm... that seems to be all I have for now.  But as I sit here with my iced coffee (decaf, of course!) I can't help but feel happy that Spring is here.

I was in the hospital having contractions... and hadn't yet received my epidural.  Fun times.  Tomorrow at 9:42am my boy will be a year old!

No longer 2 against 1...

I had an ultrasound yesterday and we found out that baby Reilly #2 is a girl!  Now I will have someone to team up with me against Josh and Liam... I will no longer be outnumbered.  Yay!

(Plus I get to buy cute little girl clothes... and I'll have someone to watch Colin Firth movies with in 15 years.)

Merry Christmas!

I love Christmas... and this year is so much more magical because it's Liam's first Christmas.  And although he may not understand the significance of the birth of Christ, he certainly understands the joy of ripping paper off of gifts and making a huge mess.

More house news...
Current mood: cheerful

Today we met with our real estate agent and signed the official offer paperwork.  The house inspection will take place on Wednesday, at which time Josh and I will make our final decision about the condo.  Will we or won't we?  Really, it will take a big problem to make us change our minds at this point.  Of course, if the inspector finds an enormous colony of killer bees under the floorboards, we may have second thoughts.
